| Suggestion: Movies Forum Posted: 6/3/2007 10:14:56 PM | Movies are a good way to bring people together as far as chatting goes. I know I can spend hours just talking about movies and never even get bored. Any kind of movie really..horror, drama, romance, action, comedy, or scifi What are your all time favorite movies? | |

| We Need A Movies Forum Posted: 6/4/2007 1:01:07 AM | | I've often wondered why there is not a movie forum on this site. | |

| We Need A Movies Forum Posted: 6/4/2007 1:30:39 PM | Funny, I just went looking for a movies forum, just thinking it would be cool to see what others had watched recently, or post something you had. Like I watched a movie I rented the other night called Dejavu with the super hot awesome acting Denzel Washington! Maybe it was just that I love him so much but I swear I thought it was a pretty good rental too ;) | |

| We Need A Movies Forum Posted: 6/4/2007 6:50:39 PM | wow. before i've posted threads and they got nowhere but i see movies is a good topic. lol i work at blockbuster and i get to watch almost any movie i want for free. I also really want to see Evan Almighty. tonight i rented Music and Lyrics, Catch and Release, and UNKNOWN. All were good. Well when you watch UNKNOWN just remember that at first..it makes you feel like you want to just turn it off. But i stuck with it and it turned out to be a decent movie. I loved De'Javu as well. My uncle started me with so many different varities of movies at a very young age. He was gay and he opened me up to movies that other ppl would not watch. I'm not talking about gay porn..I am talking about movies like Soldier's Girl..which is about a young man that goes into the army, visits a lil club one night, and falls madly in love with a transvestite. I am not going to tell you the rest of the movie but i promise you it is a beautiful movie. Sure you can watch those movies that sugarcoat real life but sometimes...it's good to know what really happens in those circumstances. That is why those movies based on true stories are so....so captivating. | |

| We Need A Movies Forum Posted: 6/7/2007 5:29:51 PM | A movie forum would be an excellent idea. Maybe the POF "powers that be" can look into it.
Some of my faves? Please refer to my profile.

| We Need A Movies Forum Posted: 6/9/2007 12:49:08 AM | I'm more of a fascist than that. I want a forum just for foreign movies :-)
(But I'd gladly settle for all movies)

| We Need A Movies Forum Posted: 6/9/2007 2:21:57 AM | I must admit at the moment it is a bit confusing where to look for movies - should it be in Art/Music (which is where i think it should be at the moment) or Off-Topic (where there is a lot of movie topics)
Considering more people see movies than buy music I believe there is justification for a movie forum - and it is a great opening discussion for people

| We Need A Movies Forum Posted: 11/22/2007 4:36:00 AM | Thread search brought this up. I would love a move review forum.
I have a LOT to say about Beowulf.

| We Need A Movies Forum Posted: 11/22/2007 6:46:41 AM | While we can argue the merits of movies being "art", not all movies, such as the above, could be considered art - hence my preference is to see movie subjects in the off topic forum.
You could preface your subject with "MOVIE:" so it can be readily searched on.
Do not however, make a "what's your favourite movie type thread, as there is nothing to discuss or debate in list threads.

| We Need A Movies Forum Posted: 11/22/2007 7:38:06 AM | So you're telling me that movies, art or not, should go in OFF Topic.
Seems like it could be so simple to create a forum dedicated to reviews.
I sure as hell didn't want my review of that movie to go in the Art forum.
And you don't want them discussed?
So it would go MOVIE review title plus minus how many times did I laugh out loud (3x in above movie)
BUT Blade Runner is playing. I think one more line of text to have a movie review forum would be .. awesome.

| We Need A Movies Forum Posted: 11/22/2007 7:48:28 AM | Point out to Admin the advertising opportunities.
Someone will.
<search movies vancouver downtown> add <dating site> plus <studios> how much per click? Search for movies by city?
You get the idea.
OH! Need a date for a movie!!!

| We Need A Movies Forum Posted: 11/22/2007 8:02:40 AM | So you're telling me that movies, art or not, should go in OFF Topic. as it, in my opinion doesn't fit any other category - yep, Off Topic.
Seems like it could be so simple to create a forum dedicated to reviews. and one for pets, and one for crochet, one for cars, and one for this, that and the other - where does it stop?
I sure as hell didn't want my review of that movie to go in the Art forum. was it not too "high brow" a review? put it in humour if that's your slant.
And you don't want them discussed? I don't think I said that ... I did say:
"Do not however, make a "what's your favourite movie type thread, as there is nothing to discuss or debate in list threads."
Eg. What's your top 5 horror movies? .etc...
So it would go ... as long as the subject line can be searched on - it's really up to you. But the topic of the thread should have some discussion or debate potential.

Point out to Admin the advertising opportunities. does he really need a fatter paycheck? .... :)

Considering that movies are a major first date in probably 1 in 3... You are talking MILLIONS a week. There is a huge gap.
and one for pets Do I need to walk your admin through his opportunities? Have you been to Yaletown?
and one for crochet Been to the West End?
one for cars You're not advertising cars???? wtf??
where does it stop?

No. But the company I work for is internationally recognized because... My hairy boss makes billions more than I do.
Your admin picked you because you're smarter.

I will use Beowhatever.

| We Need A Movies Forum Posted: 11/22/2007 4:22:46 PM | So you're telling me that movies, art or not, should go in OFF Topic. The Admin is fully aware of this Request, to possibly become a Section within a Category for Multimedias.
Movies are not generally posted in the Arts Forum Category, although it could be argued its Part of "The Arts". Perhaps a Play, Musical or something on that Order may be more suitable.
Point out to Admin the advertising opportunities. Not in the Forums.
Let me see how long a movie thread started by me lasts. Discussing Movies is Ok, your 'Favourite", "Most Detested", etc. are List-Type Questions and are not valid Discussion Topics.
This is the Help Section, make a non-redundant Thread in the Off-Topic Category.
Off Topic didn't generate any interest because...NO one goes there. Best Place to make such a Thread for Discussion until the Admin decides to act on these Advices.
Has Marcus tried to figure out how to make this click with FaceBook.
| "Facebook" is Forum, E-Mail and Profile Spam around here, but you could always e-mail him your Suggestions. |
does he really need a fatter paycheck? .... :) Neither the Pininfarina nor the 2 Lamborghini Fioranos are yet fully paid off, nor a Number of Carribean Islands ... |

| We Need A Movies Forum Posted: 7/1/2008 8:24:25 AM | | I don't see why movies couldn't fit in to the art/music section. After all, movies are a form of art. | |
|
| We Need A Movies Forum Posted: 7/13/2008 10:29:14 AM | | As its been stated,.....simply post "MOVIES" in "Off Topic",...its just as easy to search that topic, as the rest are. | |
