Posted: 6/4/2007 3:25:13 AM | Just recently I have noticed now that I am 31 years old, i get a lot of attention from 20 - 21 year old guys. I started to notice this when i turned 27 that 19 year olds would be very interested in me and I'd get more attention and looks of admiration from them than of people my own age. Why do guys like a woman of this age? And don't just say for sex because I would have thought a younger woman would be a surer bet than someone of my age who has her head screwed on and knows what to spot in a player. There is this one guy who likes me who is 22 and I like him too, but I am thinking about the future, surely there is more chance that if and when we do settle down he'll start to want younger girls eventually? What's your opinions on this?
Also aren't women in their 30s a lot less attractive than the girls of these young men's own age? | |

Younger women suck. And not in the good way. Younger women want older guys. An 18 year old wants a 21-25 year old. A 21 year old wants a 25-28 year old. I don't know why, but most claim "Guys my age are too immature." When they themselves that say this aren't exactly a beacon of wisdom themselves.
That, and trying to get them into bed is even worse. They still have the slut stigma, and are really uncomfortable with being judged that way. The 27-34 range tend to be a lot more sexually free and willing.
So, these guys will go to where the women AREN'T as fussy.
Lots of "older" women like younger guys. There are quite a few out there.
Maybe they want something real, maybe they don't. Who knows. There's no good way of judging this.
And younger women are more attractive. But good luck with those nutcases. Until the guy DOES get older, and then has a wider range of women that will accept him. But that's not to say there aren't PLENTY of attractive women who are older than college age. Looks aren't everything. Even for a FWB.
If it's a realistic relationship, your odds aren't impossible, but they are going to be a lot lower. | |

Posted: 6/4/2007 5:18:36 AM | | older women can still be very attractive. lately i've found myself quite taken with this 31-yr old woman from the eastcoast of Canada (i'm 25 and live on the westcoast.) contrary to popular belief, it's not just the hope of less fussy sex but a number of factors-- less difficulty, drama, and mind games overall. younger women 18-23 tend to be a lot more flakey and unreliable in terms of dates and responsibility. a lot of them are selfish and still in their own little carefree teenage world. older women are usually more considerate about their men and trustworthy, that's what i've discovered from personal experience. my 2 cents. | |

It's not what you have, it's how you use it, and as we get older, we have a little bit less, but we know how to use it a lot more. These guys see this.
1) They can't talk to a young girl, and the young girl can't talk to them, so there's no connection. But you can talk to the guys, so there's a connection.
2) You know now how to dress, how to dance, and how to move your body. So you're sexier and you're better at sex as well. Take a look at how many more men fancy Eva Longoria (32) than Scarlett Johansson (23).
3) You know to not let guys take too much advantage, so you keep your self-respect, so these guys respect you. Young girls very quickly lose theirs and it takes about till your age to get it back.
You're right about the players, but young guys don't know how to tell who is more likely to sleep with them. Their general policy is to go for everything in case they get lucky.
But a lot of young guys can see that they are too immature to date a young, immature woman in her 20s for very long without it ending in arguments, infidelity or bad treatment. They usually have already dated that age group and it ended in disaster, so they are going for someone who can control the relationship, and guide it somewhere good.
Plus, now women who look after themselves are looking good until well into their 50s. Take a look at the pictures of some women of that age group on this site. You'll be amazed. I have seen women who are better-looking than 20-year old women.
And what with women being now able to have kids later and later, that is not a problem either.
So you can go for it, but remember: he is only 22. He may not be able to take control of the relationship or make mature decisions until he is 30+. If you don't mind running the show, you can have a very attractive, fit, young man at your beck and call.

he's very sweet....sent me a text message saying he is so happy that i like him too, that he thinks i am an amazing person, very down to earth and he liked me from the minute he saw me (about 8 months ago) and we've been talkin on the phone a lot but i only agreed to start dating him about a week ago. He's saying he thinks we'll go places and he will treat me like a princess if I give him half a chance. I think that is what is refreshing about young guys, they don't hold back and they are very sweet and not jaded and over cautious.  | |

edit: and no, women in their early thirties are not necessarily less attractive than girls in their early 20s. it depends on the woman, but quite often maturity brings a certain level of attractiveness many men find desirable.
On the downside, I find a lot of thirtysomethings are hearing that biological clock ticking away if they don't have kids yet, so it's not all sunshine and roses. | |

A couple of extra pounds, a few wrinkles or even a grey hair or two don't matter to a man. He may not even notice them. Posted: 6/4/2007 11:20:55 AM | Personally, I think both sexes of this new generation comprising of 18's through to 23's that I am a part of have been raised by lazy, stupid and worthless parents who haven't taught their kids to grow up and become and be better people in their lives. I say that most of these kiddos make horrible partners to each other... and have no idea about how important it is to make someone happy and about keeping them well in life when together with them in a relationship... health wise, spiritually, sexually, socially, building their economic lives together and so forth... they just haven't been taught anything... so they do not really know.....
Like your physical muscles... you must build your thinking, emotional muscles...etc.... to make sure you have the best life that you can because you know will know more and do more, thus, have more.... you must exercise you soul and mind in life matters to become a great parent.... a great lover.... a great partner.... like that you see... otherwise you go through life lame... and have a bad one...
Some people want something and someone more enriching to their lives... so I could see why some younger people want someone somewhat older than they are... | |

Posted: 6/4/2007 11:59:29 AM | My first girlfriend was never more than my friend, I loved her and she later admitted that she loved me, we never had sex, but we both hoped we would in our secret places inside the mind's eye. She later told me when she first had sex with a man in over 10 years that she called out my name when she climaxed and how odd it made her feel, because we had never even kissed, and the guy was not me. She was old enough to be my mom. I think the age difference was 22 years, or close to that I was 21 at the time I met her, We talked every day for over 2 years either at college, on the phone, or in person. She taught me more about sex than I could while still never having it. She was my best friend and still holds a place in my heart, though We last saw each other in ummm, 1997. Get this she always told me the reason we could not date as lovers is that she could be my mom and she did not feel right doing that, but when I saw her again in 1997 she was married to a guy 30 years her junior.
I love talking to females. Age means not a thing to me, if I find something even something very very small that I like about you, I'll talk to you, You never know till you ask? You'll never know till you ask?!!! That is the point.
It works for me. When I met Martha I was a shy totally introverted person and never seemed to fit in with people. I am not introverted, I just did not know how to relate to people, she an older female helped me see myself when no one had ever tried to find out more than what they saw at skin level. I am an author. I tell stories for fun. I have wit and wisdom, crazy talking, sly talking, cool cats and odd hats, I can be depended on to never be predictable, I don't know half the time what I am going to say next, I play life and words by ear, but I am told I am tone deaf. Words rap and tap and then you find yourself on a forum talking about old ladies and new young men and wonder what the hey, let's tell them it's only hay, eat it, or sleep in it, or shovel it out the door.

Posted: 6/4/2007 1:44:13 PM | As a "Youger guy", I consistantly date womaen older than myself, as opposed to my age or younger. I even have a disclaimer in my profile for women that are my age or younger... I personally live in a college town and have dated my share of younger ladies, and have found them to not be exactly what I am looking for at least not yet...Also at my age, I am rather succesful, I think, and prefer somebody who has it together as well. i.e there own place, starting a career or already established, has goals direction and aspirations... Not that younger women lack all of these things there are many exceptions., but, the women I tend to date have all of this and that is how I prefer it... Lastly, My EX , who was my age and we were together for over 6yrs, and engaged, decided one night to jump in the sack with some other guy, and literally threw our relationship out of the window. Seemed like a pretty immature thing to do, she could have told me that she was ready to move on. Generally a more mature woman with a few more years under her belt is more likely to communicate feelings as opposed to just saying to hell with the other person, at least that has been my experience...
Summary: Women who are a bit older, are usually more mature, are'nt usually into game playing, and from my experience are better at communicating what they need, want ,and dislike.

Why?
1 - Maturity. Girls in my age bracket (17-22) have barely any clue what they want and change their minds way too often. The tend to be petty, gossipy, unreliable and backstabbing. Nevermind the fact that they have no clue what they want in a man and it changes as quick as the sun rises with many of them - then they will complain they cannot keep a guy or find a "decent" guy. Not to be too hard on women my age - this is simply my experience with, and through observing, many of the women my age that I am exposed to.
2 - Women that are older tend to be more stable and also less wishy-washy. Nothing I hate more than a girl who is with a guy because he is the flavor of the week, but then after being with him for a month or longer she is still constantly in wishy-washy mode.
3 - Attractiveness. Believe it or not, plenty of women this age are MORE attractive. Sure, younger women sometimes have soften skin and nicer hair, but any girl who does and has taken care of herself can, in my opinion, look better a bit later on. Once hormones have settled down you might not have the incredibly tight "youthful" body anymore, however often you gain a more "earthly" beauty. Also, many women this age wear less make up so their natural beauty is more alluring, and the way they dress and carry themselves is also ALOT more attractive.
4 - Open-minded ness. More mature women also have more open minds. They tend to, in my experience, be more open to trying new things (I'm a virgin, but I'm sure this applies to the bed room as well). They also are more comfortable with themselves as less naggy about their insecurities, they are more open with the men in their life, and like most people as they go on in life learn to just accept and like people for who they are - not what they have, who they know, or who you want/expect them to become.
5 - Sex. Everyone knows that women peak later in life as far as sex-drive is concerned. Some guys just want to take advantage of that - personally, I dont really give a rats behind about this one when I try to go out with older women. However, they are probably better in bed, want sex more often, more experimental and overall alot more fun in this regard.
