| What happens to congress memebers after they lose elections. Posted: 6/4/2007 8:42:08 PM | | Making a living off polticial machinery a option for a house memeber that loses the election. I figure the whole Washington DC game is a insider game. Since, the best lobbyists are the ex politicans themshelves since they still control some of the hidden levers of power. | |

Generally they go work as lobbyist or work directly for a corporation that helped get special legislation for. The old revolving door. At one time there was talk of making politicians have a waiting period before being allowed to work in such areas. Guess what, they couldn't let that happen.lol
Really,****Cheney was a C.E.O. without any formal education in business. Hmmm...wonder why that was. Wasn't he a school teacher before becoming a career politician? Anybody see Fred Thompson's wife..she's 4 years younger than his oldest daughter. Google it, I want to be a (so-called)conservative if you get babes like that.lol
Yes, history tells us that this stuff has happened before but it's really gotten out of hand. No wonder people don't vote...most politicians are corrupt. One term and health insurance for life. Hmm...free health care for serving 6 year or a 4 year term...ahh what a country.

Secretary of defense, then CEO of Halliburton (where his net worth increased 70-fold, mostly because of his Rolodex which is why Hallibutron installed him despite having no business skills) then VP.
It still blows my mind that a defence contractor is elected to VP. This is the sort of thing that happened in Thailand or Romania, not America.
