The "Viewed Me" page says "People who viewed you sorted by when they were last online. The rest of the page is sorted by when they visited your profile."
I would like to see the section of 'when they visited my profile' on the rest of the page but don't see any line of delineation to show this second section. The only thing I see is at the bottom which just provides searches.
I really like this feature. I'd like to know who the most recent people were who viewed my profile. Even the dates!
Thanks much, Mike

'Viewed Me' Section - How does the Sorting work? Posted: 6/5/2007 9:16:00 AM
the top row is the people who were most recently online. i can usually tell this because below their pic it says "im user" or "user online".
the remaining rows are people who viewed you, the most recent being in the upper left corner.
but you could've figured this out yourself, if you'd bothered to read the FAQ. the FAQ are your friends. please go read them, all of them, right now. one of my all time favorites is this one: FAQ - Thread Search Instructions http://forums.plentyoffish.com/datingPosts3752061.aspx
there's even one on this very topic. FAQ- New POF Feature- Viewed ME http://forums.plentyoffish.com/datingPosts6424166.aspx

| 'Viewed Me' Section - How does the Sorting work? Posted: 6/5/2007 12:40:17 PM | Thanks humormonger,
Top row is people most recently online and the rest are people who have viewed me, most recent is the upper left hand photo was most recent. I appreciate your kind response.
I had already checked out the FAQ - and the http://forums.plentyoffish.com/datingPosts6424166.aspx link. I saw a lot ABOUT the feature but nothing describing HOW it worked. I didn't know about the delineation between the sections. I have nothing under the first line as you are describing (IM user or user online) and if I did I'd just attribute it to them being online while no one else is online at the moment.
But thanks for the information!

| 'Viewed Me' Section - How does the Sorting work? Posted: 6/5/2007 1:54:45 PM | The top Row (Most Recently Online) comprising 10 Images are chronologically sorted, People who viewed you at some Point in the Past, showing as having been the last ones Online, the most recent User to Log-In to at the far left.
The last 4 Rows (Most Recently Viewed) of 40 Images or Thumbnail Placeholders show the Sequence of the most recent Users who viewed you, the latest from top left 2nd. Row reading across to the far right, back to the far left of the 3rd. Row and on downwards to the bottom Row, just the Way you read a Book.
It has been suggested the Admin add a Time Stamp to each Viewed Instance:
I have nothing under the first line as you are describing (IM user or user online) and if I did I'd just attribute it to them being online while no one else is online at the moment. Those who have 'Instant Messenger' enabled in their Mail Settings will display the IM User Link under a User's Thumbnail Image.
On the first top Row (Most Recently Online), locate the earliest IM User Link, ... the furthest one to the right. That Person is currently Online, or was Online within 15 Minutes or so. Users to the left are more recent . This gives you an Index of the approximate Time Frames and how many of those Users are or were last Online.
Adding a User to your Favourites "may" somewhat narrow down the approximate Time, but ultimately only indicates when Someone logged into their , not when .

If a person viewed me say, 2 days ago.. their pic would be near the end of the lower list..
Okay.. what happens when they view me again today..? Does their pic re-appear at the front of the lower list..?
The top row, showing people who viewed you sometime in the past and are now online, is IMHO fairly useless..

| That's a subjective Call ...
Someone who had viewed you at some Point in the Past may not have logged into the Site for a While, then show up in the top Row so you could now initiate Contact. Its just another Feature, if you have no Use for it, ignore it. |

| 'Viewed Me' Section - How does the Sorting work? Posted: 7/23/2007 12:48:20 PM | Unless the Admin has re-tinkered with the Settings, it should move/relocate back up to the far left top 2nd. Row. It works chronologically. Then I guess it looks like an admin has tinkered with the settings. Because I know _for sure_ that a girl I was chatting with, who viewed my profile a while ago, viewed my profile again very recently. But her picture still appears quite late down the list (in the second row/list). What's the deal?
Is it a problem unique to my end? I'd personally REALLY like this issue to be rectified. I keep a little mental note of the order of the list sorting, and it seems to never change.

| 'Viewed Me' Section - How does the Sorting work? Posted: 7/23/2007 8:31:06 PM | | ^^^^^it's anecdotal, as it is only my experience, but i think that if the same person views you daily, i don't think they show up on the viewed me list. i say this because i have correspondents, who've been on the viewed me list, that contact me again about new jokes, say they looked at the updated proile, but they don't show AT THAT TIME. so, there may be an additional filter, or something that stops such users appearing over and over, within a certain time frame. | |

But her picture still appears quite late down the list (in the second row/list). What's the deal? At this Point, the Picture will stay in place, unaffected by repetitive Views. It will continue to move down as newer Users come on Board until that User has been deleted from your Viewed Me List.
People in the top Row cannot be deleted, as they are simply Users who have logged into their who had viewed your Profile at an earlier Point in Time.
The Admin deletes any User in the (Most Recently Viewed) (lower) Rows after 30 Days, and all User Records between 30 and 90 Days after they have been viewed.
If that User subsequently views your Profile again, he will show up in a new Unit of Time.
there may be an additional filter, or something that stops such users appearing over and over, within a certain time frame. Not every single PageView per User can be recorded. It's already in the Hundreds of Millions of Records as it is, it would be in the Billions otherwise.

It will continue to move down as newer Users come on Board until that User has been deleted from your Viewed Me List. If that's true, then I find the Viewed Me list to be nearly useless, in all honesty. If you take a look at similar features at all the other dating sites, even free ones such as XOX.com and OXO.com (can't advertise their exact domains here), they all have a similar Viewed Me feature that actually updates each user so that the order of the list is sorted by when she/he last viewed a particular person.
Looking at other sites with the feature, I don't think it would be that hard to do or that taxing on the bandwidth, but what the hell do I know.

| 'Viewed Me' Section - How does the Sorting work? Posted: 8/3/2007 1:43:53 AM | I have spent some time looking for the question I am about to ask ...
Can it be possible for someones' photo to continuously appear on the 'Viewed Me' section ... (ie: several times every day) ... when the person claims not to have viewed me at all - at any time?
|
| 'Viewed Me' Section - How does the Sorting work? Posted: 8/3/2007 1:48:25 AM | Perhaps they viewed you sometime in the past, but do not remember. Now when they are logged in they show up on the first row of:
People who viewed you sorted by when they were last online.
They viewed you at some point and now they are online. Thats all it means.

| 'Viewed Me' Section - How does the Sorting work? Posted: 8/3/2007 1:59:20 AM | | After 2 months of someone viewing me every day, at different times, I finally made contact with him earlier this morning. I was polite yet received an abusive reply - which included a claim that he has never once looked at my profile. | |

After 2 months of someone viewing me every day, at different times That "Viewing Me" you are referring to must be the very Top Row of Thumbnail Images.
All that means is that he has viewed your Profile at some Point in the Past and he has logged into his again. Everytime you see him in the Top Row, he is not "viewing" your Profile again, he has simply logged into his very recently.
If you see him in the last (4) Four Rows, it means he has "viewed" your Profile within the last 30 Days and he would stay on those (4) Four bottom Rows until that Time. These bottom Rows only show the Users who have "viewed" you in Sequence from 2nd Row left ... to 5th Row Right in the last 30 Days, and may, or may not have recently logged into their .
I was polite yet received an abusive reply - which included a claim that he has never once looked at my profile. Abusive People are never honest People.

thats rubbish with the no answer. people r still appearing above the line that i know r not viewing my profile they have viewed it in the past at some point - it doesn't mean they've viewed it TODAY or a few days ago, it simply means they've viwed in the past at some point and have just recently logged on - nothing more.

can you view back more than the 40 that show on the viewed me screen?
Nope sorry you can't - but if they do view you again in a subsequent period of time after the 30 day drop off, they will reappear.
Do note though, that they may appear at anytime in the first row when they log on, it might be hard to catch them in the frst row as a lot of people may have viewed you and and as one person logs in - the last person in the first row drops off ...

| 'Viewed Me' Section - How does the Sorting work? Posted: 8/28/2007 9:52:37 PM | | How do I manually delete the bottom rows of pictures in the "viewed me "section ? I read your help section and I know that the top row can't be deleted and that the bottom rows get automaticallly deleted after 30 days. Tom | |
|
| 'Viewed Me' Section - How does the Sorting work? Posted: 8/29/2007 1:41:34 AM | You cannot manually delete those pictures. The page is a reference of those who have viewed your profile, nothing more.
It will cycle through as more members view you and the pictures will change over time.

| 'Viewed Me' Section - How does the Sorting work? Posted: 11/27/2007 11:59:17 AM | | On my 'latest online viewers' it seems to have frozen!! Exactly the same people come up and I know that others that have viewed me are online. Is there any way to unfreeze the top line as, to be honest, wouldnt mind if they were handsome!!! But have to keep looking at goats!!! | |

By "down and to the right" it seems you mean that when a new viewer is inserted at the left of the 2nd row, the image that was in that position becomes the image in the left-most position on the third row.
I thought that the insertion at the left of the 2nd row caused the images in that row to move to the right, with the last image on that row shifting down to the left-most position on the 3rd row.
Please clarify/confirm.
