Hi everyone. I have decided to hold a get together again, at Chippewa. I hope everyone is interested and signs up.
The party will be held at Chippewa on privately rented lots, near the zoo. Last year the Chippewa get together was great fun, and it was so nice to meet the POFers that are part of the Thunder Bay community.
Date: July 21, 2007
Time: 10 am - 9 pm
Location: Chippewa Park, Lots 5&6
Camping is available at Chippewa, for tents, campers and they also have cabins available. Rates are reasonable, as well the cabins are under $50. Convient for anyone coming in from out of town. The website is www.chippewapark.ca, or you can contact them at, 623-3912 for reservations.
This get together is for fun and getting to know other POFers. All are welcome to bring your children, as well as bring friends. It will be a pot luck event, fun and games are welcome.

Other things to that can help contribute: Coolers, Ice, Condiments, Paper/Foam Plates, Utensils, Music, BBQs, Water,...ect ( I'll think on this one as well) I have a small but good getto that I can bring. I don't think we need louder music then it can play.
I also suggest that everyone consider the personal things they should bring: Lawn chair, bathing suit and towel, sun block, maybe skin lotion and unbrellas, blanket to lie on, personal beverages. (Someone I know may be going in, in their clothes...lol .. ;) .. )
Well that is all I have for the moment. I'm sure I'll think up a few other things as we get this party going.

| Thunder Bay Chippewa, July 21st Posted: 6/10/2007 8:58:27 PM | I'm there, Little Lady Think I will be different this year and bring smokies and hot dogs! Oh and buns. Oh, and I think I will get a badminton set with the proper pegs and stuff so we can play. Then we won't have to worry about trees.
As for baseball, that could have happened last year except no one brought or mentioned that they had extra equipment. If you want to play baseball, you will have many who want to play but may not have any equipment. If you have extras please mention that in your post. I may be able to get some extra bats, gloves might be a problem.
Last year was really great! People were talking about the party for months later and wishing that they had been there. Here is your chance! Hit the button and join some PoF'ers for a great day.

| Thunder Bay Chippewa, July 21st Posted: 6/11/2007 10:16:49 AM | I agree LolaShy, last year was a lot of fun. This year should even be better. Now it's just a matter of me mailing... hehe
I have lot 5 rented for the friday before so any and all can come out and help set a few things up. I will also be having proper polls made, by a professional ...lol., in order to have great games. If you have a set as well maybe we can attach both nets and get a lot of people involved in one game.
I do have other games, but my dyslexia prevents me from spelling Boccie (sp?) Ball.
I think there are other toys in my camper that will fun for people to play with. Also I'll be defining the OP of this thread more indepth later this evening, aprox. 12:01 am.
Smiles, LL
p.s. I wonder if as many people will be watching this thread, as did last year???

| Thunder Bay Chippewa, July 21st Posted: 6/11/2007 10:52:41 AM | hey all out there anyone have croquet sets, we could even have a big game if we all bring out a bunch of those lawn games, lawn darts, bochhi ball, lawn bowling too. | |
|
| Thunder Bay Chippewa, July 21st Posted: 6/11/2007 12:40:01 PM | I have croquet... :D .. I also have a soccer ball, cards, a cribbage board, and I'm sure I have a few other things to play with. Like last year, I do have bubbles, and a few battery opperated bubble makers.
I also have around 350 balloons for filling with water. I want to fill the balloons the day prior so it lightens up the load of things to do the party day. There will be rules to water balloon fights, if there is one.
There will be no involving people who do not wish to be involved, so an area will be designated. Also I wish that all toss the balloons lightly, just enough to break the balloon, but not enough to hurt anyone.
Kenner, Ask your daughter(s) what they would like to make for the event. Usually people that enjoy cooking for these types of events have recipe ideas that they enjoy making. All food is more then welcome.

| Thunder Bay Chippewa, July 21st Posted: 6/11/2007 8:42:22 PM | Tmpo, Thank you for starting the food list idea with an idea. It helps when people suggest what they can do well.
Justine432003, I know you make a great maccaroni salad, and I will be looking forward to your potato salad this year.

| Thunder Bay Chippewa, July 21st Posted: 6/12/2007 5:41:49 AM | Ju8stine, those perogies you make too are also awesome. Kennr bring your daughter to the chef's site. I am not a chef, I sure learned alot while working at the Valhalla in in my youth. I love cooking for people. I AM NOT looking for any awards for the best looking food, just the tastyess. I dont need to hear great food, I just need to here lots of "YUMS", OHH" HMMMS. THEN I know that i HAVE not poisened anyone. I know that correct timing of cooking does not include hearing the smoke alarm going off, or that I burn water. The more I have to cook for the better. I come from a big family, and cooking for one was never an option.
And being from a big family, we played "Risk" on the ground. little lady, if you have a huge crib board, I would like to be the first to challenge you.
I heard about the last event, being so much fun.
Everyone bring your children, children like socializing too. I am the biggest kid around according to my friends child of three. To all you single parents, bring your children, they get to socialize with there peers as we adults get too.
we can organize children's games that only allow children, and adults have their own fun too. me doc, come on down, you are great with little ones. I have kids, I just see magic when you talk to little people.
come on POF members, lets bring whom ever and make this the most memorable event that Thunder Bay has ever had
|
| Thunder Bay Chippewa, July 21st Posted: 6/12/2007 7:29:11 AM | I will be glad to join your group once again. I will bring my fifth wheel trailer out. It should be a hoot.

bringing fruit torte for dessert
I will need a ride out there, or someone to pick up my stuff, I think I will ride my bike out there.
|
| Thunder Bay Chippewa, July 21st Posted: 6/12/2007 5:03:51 PM | Hi, again.
As we all know, no host can do these events all by themselves. JMHO
So I'm more then willing to have all the help that people would like to give. Anyone that would like to offer their assistance please mail me.

Please someone bring out a baseball tee so I can hit the ball. Also I am an offical baseball umpire with Kitchener Parks and Recreation, so beware of the umpire or you maybe the first one tossed into the pond But see you all out there for a fun, froliky time.
