Posted: 6/14/2007 5:08:35 AM | In 1996, the law passed that women could go topless in Ontario..So many women complained about men being topless and they could'nt...The law changed but no one hardly would go topless after they got what they wanted...Its like they complain and complain, then get what they want and then do nothing!
I went to Cobourg Beach with another fishie friend from here, we both decided to go topless. We went to the end of the beach to have privately, a patrol officer even said we are the first to do it there..Hopefully when other women see some women do it, then they will do it..
Sure we had some men, who decided to walk near us, but we paid no attention to them and they left us alone..
Are there any other women who want to go topless but nervous? Don't be..sure I was at first, but then decided just to do it.. | |

Know a few yrs back my sister and her friends hit Grand Bend topless. My sister is an H cup. Know more women doing it there.
Personally, prefer to keep top on for number of reasons. Leaves something to imagination. Plus, when I hit a later age won't be picking boobs off the floor because lacked support now.

The fight was for equality, not the right to bare flesh!
This is North America and people here are not ready for it. I’ve spent lots of time on European beaches (nude and topless) where there are men, women, children, the elderly…everyone and it’s part of everyday life…and the norm.
Most Canadian men can’t handle it and that's what keeps women from taking it off. | |

I love the freedom there is something very freeing about being topless. I go to a clothing optional beach a few times in the summer and love the escape and the freedom. I'm very comfortable with nudity and with my body, it is not for attention seeking but for the freedom it makes me feel in a very tightly wound society.
People make such a big deal abou it....we all have the same equipment men/woman why be so prudish. Try you might like it :) | |

Unfortunately we come from a society that looks at women who go topless as wrong. I really don't think society will ever get past that image. But we can enjoy a day sunning at a nature resort. Where everyone is a naturalist, your looked at as normal, no sexual thoughts, just a relaxing day in the sun!!!!

Thats not true. Its the women that are afraid to do it. I have been to parts of Europe and met Canadian women who take their tops off over there(even though its an option), but over here they are afraid to bare them, in case someone they know sees them. But thats ok its your choice. | |

It was something I had never done before but feel comfortable enough now that I would do it again. There are lots of nudist resorts around...maybe we should have a POF nudist party...LOL | |

That's a typical female cop-out.
If you haven't gone topless in Canada, especially all over "MOST" of Canada, how do you know most men can't handle it? It's always a cop-out when an unsustantiated claim like this is made.... there is no proof to support your claim.
That's like me claiming that most women are insecure with the appearance of their breasts and their body - they don't like being compared - that's why they don't bare their breasts.
Keep in mind.... if a woman goes topless and sexual innuendoes and/or unwanted comments are directed at them, it is potentially grounds for sexual harrassment. | |

Posted: 6/14/2007 2:21:19 PM | My girlfriend and I talked about it before hand...when we got there, there where quite a few people, more men than women...so we decided to go down to the end of the beach..a few mins after we got there, 4 or 5 teenage boys were hanging around the lifeguard stand(no guard on duty that day) we respected them and waited til the boys left.. Like I said in my other post, a few men walked out of their way to come near us..No one bothered us or make sexual remarks..One guy in his twenties did come over and said to us"Is it hot enought out for you ladies" we talked to him for a few mins..He talked to us like we were covered up..So no big deal..We even had a couple of seniors walk by us(man and woman), did'nt bothered them...
My opinion is..you are comfortable doing something and its legal, then do it..if someone does'nt likes it..they have the choice to move away from U..
Also it was great not having to lay there with a wet top sticking to me..I am not ashamed of my body and I don't even call them breast...they are milkers to me..My kids were fed by them.
Whole point why I started this thread was..to any woman who wants to do it but is nervous..Like the Nike commerical...Just do it.
I am also interested into going to a nude beach....or a resort...nothing sexual about it...its freedom.. | |

Bare breasts are quite a shocker to see in public...and really, it depends on how many there are offended by such things. For the most part...if you see them enough...you get use to it. Hell I saw way too many in art college, having to draw them every time we had a model pose for us. Sure many giggled and make some remark or two...but after it was all done...it was no big deal. There's a naked person in front of us and we're just sketching away with an objective eye. | |

until the day that breasts are not sexual objects in this culture (and personally, I hope we don't see that day as i am a self-proclaimed boob woman - yes, i'll explain below), i'd have to disagree with this thought.
there is no red-blooded male, who upon seeing an attractive set, would not have a sexual thought/have a double-take (pun fully intended)/perhaps make a comment (if not to the women than to a friend or even a stranger), etc.....
they can't be blamed though. hell, as a woman i'd have a different thought process upon seeing women's breasts in public over a male's....
on to my "boob woman" comment.
my breasts are sexual objects just as much in my eyes as they are in the eyes of men.
i say this because they give me pleasure. they are not just random bags of flesh. they are also bags o fun! nerve endings make the girls what the are just as the fatty tissue does.
fine, i have the right to bare 'em. am i nervous of another person's reaction should i bare 'em in public? no. would i bare 'em on a public beach? likely not. (i can hear the sighs of my bf right now! lol i'm joking - he would likely be comforted to know that they are for our "relaxation and freedom" only.
i don't knock those that choose to bare as i agree with the right to bare it's just not for me :) there is something to be said for exposing children (especially young boys) to the sight that doesn't sit well with me. nude beaches - game on. public - not so much.
(but like i say: i can't knock anyone for it! hell the ladies doing the deed are both friends of mine ;)
