I have been holding back on doing this one as our immenent weather has not been good to us. I am going to post the event and hope for at least some good weather. This is a outdoor event where children are welcome as well. Lets see how many POF'ers it takes to fill a beach? LOL.. Any guitar players or musicians they are welcome to bring their guitars/instruments and see if we can't light up the night with some music. Yes that means you Darrell and Jon!!!!
WE WILL BE CLEARLY VISIBLE WITH POF SIGNS AS TO WHERE TO MEET...
BBQ:
Its bring your own stuff and I am sure we can round up people to bring down some BBQ's. PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU ARE WILLING TO BRING DOWN A BBQ.!!!Nothing will be supplied so its up to each individual on what they bring.

ON THE FIRE PERMIT IT STATES:
THE ESQUIMALT LAGOON IS A CITY PARK NO PERSON SHALL POSSESS OR CONSUME LIQUOR IN A CITY PARK. THIS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED BY THE RCMP OR CITY BYLAW OFFICER.
SO PLEASE EVERYONE TAKE HEED TO THIS AS I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PERMIT AND YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOURSELVES.
ANYONE WITH AWNINGS OR GAZEBOO TYPE THING OR EVEN TARPS THAT WE COULD MAKE SOME SHADDED AREAS OR JUST COVERED AREAS.
BONFIRE:
I will be going to get the fire permit this will also depend on the weather as well. Anyone who has wood to burn can bring it along with them or drop it off to us as we are not allowed to burn the beach wood. PLEASE READ IF THERE IS A FIRE BAN ON WHEN THIS EVENT HAPPENS THERE COULD BE A CHANCE OF NO FIRE THAT EVENING BUT WILL KEEP POSTED.
LOCATION AND TIME:
What: BBQ/BONFIRE
Where: Esquimalt Lagoon
When: Saturday July 7th, 2007 start time will be 4pm till whenever the fire is to be put out!!or if we keep it quite a little later
Entertainment: Any musicians that want to strut their stuff!!!
Why: Cause we want too.
If you are unaware how to get to the lagoon here is directions:
From downtown Victoria go North on Douglas Street. Douglas Street will eventually veer westward and become Highway 1. Remain on Highway 1 for about one km then take the right-hand exit lane towards Colwood. The road will take you underneath Highway 1 and the railroad. Continue forward and you will shortly cross a bridge beside the Six Mile Pub. Travel up the hill but move to the left lane because you will be turning left at the lights immediately past the Juan de Fuca Recreation Centre (turning onto Ocean Boulevard). Zero your travel indicator here. Go 0.4 km, turn left again, and head toward Fort Rodd. You will be driving through a forested area of mixed fir, maple, oak and alder trees. At 1.8 km you reach a road on the left which will take you to Fort Rodd National Historic Site and Fisgard Lighthouse. Do not take the road to Fort Rodd continue on down to the road over the bridge you will be at the lagoon LOOK FOR THE POF BANNER.

Looks like I have a dragonboat race that weekend otherwise I would be sure to go. You all have a great time (I KNOW you will!), and no camera malfunctions as I definitely want to sift through the evidence after! (detailed reports will be snortingly accepted also

As far as camera malfunctions, why doesn't everyone who has one try to bring a camera and try to take pictures, then we'll be sure to have all the evidence of a great time.......
