| Why do guys bic thier lids?
Posted: 7/2/2007 2:30:25 PM | I don't mind the shaved look where there is some stubble at least. And I don't care if the guy is balding or his hair is thinning as long as he's not taking a razor to his noggin to try and hide this fact.
But this trend where single guys are taking a bic razor to thier heads so that thier scalp is all shiny and feels like plastic is just.... GROSS!
I have noticed that a very large number of guys that are on this site bic thier lids. Just throwing it out there as to why I'm not interested and the likely reason why not to many other woman are either. The plastic saran wrap scalp look is OUT! Ewwww!
Why are you guys doing this to yourselves? Don't you want to look less intimidating and get dates? | |

Of course, I've got all my hair, and I'm genetically predisposed towards continuing to have it, so this discussion is mostly academic for me. | |

Looks like a somebody by taking a bic razor to his head? I really don't think so. He looks more like a skinhead or some other intimidating creature by doing so.
The glare from the guys heads are just killing our eyes!

I like a nice clean look to my hair. With the way my hair was growing, I'd have to start using the combover. The only thing dirtier than a combover is a mullet/skullet. If their heads are shiny, they might want to try using baby powder to calm that shine down. | |

Also, it's a really good way to NOT have to deal with impending baldness.
And it's a great way to stay cool for the summer. No, really, that's why my roomie did it!

Posted: 7/2/2007 9:23:56 PM | I've never shaved mine right down, just used the electric shaver on it. Couple of my profile pics show how short I had it.
I used the electric shaver because it was easy to do, easy to take care of, I didn't have to worry about bed head, and it saved me a trip to the hairdresser once every few weeks.
When playing sports it's also substantially cooler. It felt kinda neat too :P.
Using a razor on it every day would be too much work. | |

I like hair and I'm not attracted to the plasticated-scalp look, but I don't mind that people go for it. I could write a novel's worth of complaints about all the things people do to themselves that I find unattractive. The wonderful thing is that another woman could find all those things really hot. I mean, seriously -- Why do guys wear pleated pants? Why do women pierce their faces? What is the purpose of a goatee? Why do women dye their hair? ...It's because they like the way it feels or looks. There's no secret, more complicated answer to any of these questions. | |

As someone else mentioned, it is just too much maintenance for me to bic it everyday, so I stick with a little stubble. I am balding and it looks ridiculous (to me, and that's who really matters here)if i try and grow it out. I don't bic it to look intimidating or shave it down so I can be menacing, it's just easier to deal with, much much cooler in the summertime and I don't have to fix anything when I wear a stocking cap over it in the winter (altho when the stubble grows out, the stocking cap is like peeling velcro off my head).
If it bothers you so much, don't date someone with it. Personally, I don't segregate women based on their hair style, but I guess I'm just different that way. | |

Why? Because we all are individuals. Last time I checked this was a democracy and not a dictatorship that controlled how we are or how we looked.
You are entitled to your opinion. There are some guys who do not have hair that can be manageable to everyones liking. Not everyone is blessed with a full head of luxurious hair.
Not every guy wants to be a metrosexual either and spend a long time in front of the mirror.
I bic my head and am proud of my shiny scalp even though I have been likened to a convict. I got tired of cutting shampooing, conditioning, styling, combing, blowdrying all for the sake of style. This is my style and im happy with it
To all the women who like the bald heads..I thank you and my fellow cue balls thank you.
