| 7 layer dip recipe needed Posted: 7/3/2007 3:44:41 PM | I'm looking for a recipe for 7 layer dip. All the ones I have found contain meat but the one I recall having years ago was meatless. Anyone have any recipes to share? I remember refried beans and guacamole in it but can't remember the rest.
Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer.

| 7 layer dip recipe needed Posted: 7/3/2007 4:12:41 PM | refried beans cheese sour cream quacamole salsa/or picante onion (jalapenos) cheese
I have seen cream cheese used for the first layer of cheese, but I use pepper jack and cheddar. I normally nuke it before I serve it with fresh tortillas.

When I make mine, it is not always 7 layers...it varies with what is in my fridge! ;) I have used cream cheese, chili, salsa, lettuce, tomatoes, avocado or guacamole, meat, olives, cheese, enchilada sauce, etc....but I find having nachos and everything individually is more popular!

| 7 layer dip recipe needed Posted: 7/5/2007 1:17:06 PM | I usually use mexican seasoned beef for the bottom layer but easy enough to spread beans instead. You can really use just about anything you like for the other 6 layers:
lettuce onions black olives tomatoes or salsa sour cream jalapenos cheese guacamole
Just layer it in a nice dish, glass works well if you can keep it neat looking (at least until the first dipper gets to it), set out the chips and there you go!!

| 7 layer dip recipe needed Posted: 7/23/2007 4:49:11 PM | 1 can of black refried beans 1 can of reg refried beans
Mix the two cans together and layer into a 9x13 baking dish
4 ripe avacadoes 2 pkg "great gaucomole"
Mix these two together and put on top of the beans. (I suppose you could use your own fav qaucomole recipe)

Mix these two together and put on top of the guacomole mixture.
2 cans (3.8 oz ) of sliced black olives (put on top of sour creme)

1 can (7 oz) diced green chilies ( on top of cheese)
last but not least...top with 2 chopped roma tomatoes.
Let sit a couple of hours then eat with your fav brand of corn chips

| 7 layer dip recipe needed Posted: 7/28/2007 8:17:07 AM | I love 7 layer dips. But I am cheating oke? I dont tell people that I buy most ingredients at a restaurant. Find a good mexican restaurant that has very good refried beans. I do make my own guacamole you can find these recipes in any good cookbook.
Refried beans chopped tomatoes shredded cheese ( freshly grated is best) sliced olives spring onions sourcream
Hell I forgot whats the 7th layer. Oh guacamole and by the way the cheese is on top.

| 7 layer dip recipe needed Posted: 2/8/2008 12:19:01 AM | You need a nice glass casserole dish for this one cos presentation is a must. Serve with round taco chips...you need a firm chip to scoop.
*refried beans that you have mixed in a small bowl and soften up...add some chilli powder to it...just a pinch. * mashed avacado with a pinch of cayenne mixed in * sour cream and mayonaisse layer... mix thoroughly... 1/2 and 1/2 mix... * two differents colours of cheddar cheese. A white cheddar in the center of the dish, a yellow cheddar ring around the outside of the white cheese. Grated. * chop up some firm but ripe tomatoes, into small cube...remove the some of the pulp if it is too mushy * chop 2-3 green onions and sprinkle on top of tomato layer * chop up some black olives and sprinkle on top * chop up a few jalapeno peppers ..that is a great surprise.
got that? build it this way....bottom layer is the beans..work upwards. refried beans avacado (guacamole) sour cream/mayo mix white cheddar & yellow cheddar tomatoes green onions black olives jalapenos
I get great reviews on this one...and lots of requests... I think it is different because of the added zing of spice and the jalapenos...and I use two cheese.

| 7 layer dip recipe needed Posted: 6/30/2008 2:38:37 AM | I was complaining at a party how I hated how the beans in a 7 layer dip were always cold and hard...and how my chip always broke when I got to the beans. So we brainstormed and came to the obvious -its a 7 layer DIP...why not use all dips.
so we now make our 7 layers with
Bean dip French Onion dip Guacamole dip Queso dip & Ranch dip also Taco meat, cheeses, and the typical veggies...layer to your liking
Note- I thin my Bean dip in the micro with a little bit of water...makes for easy spreading

| 7 layer dip recipe needed Posted: 6/30/2008 8:56:35 AM | | If I remember correctly? Is there not a seven layer salad with peas, water chestnuts, cheese and the like? The recipes here are more of the mexican type than the one I remember eating at picnics and such. I just can't remember what all went in it? | |

| 7 layer dip recipe needed Posted: 6/30/2008 9:13:50 AM | Super Duper Easy !!!!!
2 bricks of onion flavoured cream cheese room temp mix in 1 package of taco seasoning ( optional would be some chili flake for a lil heat). Spread out on cookie sheet or pizza sheet. Top with diced tomato, green onion, black olives, avacado, shredded sharp cheddar and maybe some chopped cilantro...pretty much whatever you think might good, I think I covered it though.
Dip in with taco chips...very good and no meat!
PS you could probably try to cover the cream cheese with a little refried bean, then with the remaining ingredients , never done it would probably be good!
