| is it sin to be a wiccan? Posted: 5/4/2005 6:13:44 PM | WHAT EVER IS NOT OF FAITH IS SIN THE BIBLE SAYS BASICLLY HOW CAN YOU BELIEVE UNLESS YOU HAVE FAITH IN gOD HJOW CAN YOU HAVE FAITH IF YOU HAVE NOT HEARD I ASK YOU IS WICCAN SIN?
IN THE BOOK OF HEBREWS IT SAYS THAT IN THE PAST TIMES gOD SPOKE THROUGH THE PROPHETS BUT NOW HAS SPOKEN THROUGH HIS SON JESUS WHO HE MADE HEAD OVER THE CHURCH, BELIUEVERS. JESUS WAS WITH THE FATHER BEFOR TIME. bASICALLY THE MYSTERIES HIDDEN FROM THE DAWN OF TIME WAS HIDDEN FROM EVEN THE JEWS, HOW THOSE WHO WERE NOT JEWS WOULD COME TO JESUS ABRAHAM WAS THE FATHER OF THE JEWS, BUT BY FAITH HE IS THE FATHER OF ALL WHO HAVE FAITH IN CHRIST ABRAM WAS THE ON WHO HAD FAITH TO BECOME ABRAHAM THE FATHER OF MANY NATIONS. hEBREWS SAYS THAT GOD WINKED OR OVER LOOKED THINGS BECAUSE PEOPLE DID NOT KNOW HIM EVEN THOUGH CREATION IT SELF GIVES WITNESS TO GOD. iF A PERSON KNOWS THE TRUTH AND TURNS FROM IT THEY BASICALLY TURN FROM THE TRUTH REVEALED TO THEM AND IN THAT TRUTH THEY CAME TO KNOW THEMSELVES SO TO TURN FROM TRUTH IS TO TRUN EVEN FROM YOUR SELF

| is it sin to be a wiccan? Posted: 5/4/2005 6:14:00 PM | i'm a christian, and i have found that ''the truth'' is a journey. you are going to learn a lot from wiccans about the universe and love.
there is more truth though........... it's all a spiritual journey....... go for it, and spend your life pursuing truth...... evolve according to truth.
no, it's not a sin if you are pursuing ''truth''............ if you just like to cast spells, and play with the dark side, yes....... it's self-destructive.

| is it sin to be a wiccan? Posted: 5/5/2005 7:53:06 AM | Hi there. Yes I would have to agree craww..what you said previously was really well put.
Religious tolerance is what the world needs today. It is the racisim of the spirtual level. Here is a poem that I just adore:
So Mote It Be!
we should learn from the Earth's most patient teachers That religious tolerance be one of our features In all human hearth, have this light shine. Let us welcome it, through body, spirit and mind. Water it, nurture it, let it continue to grow So suffering and loneliness, no longer will we know. For what you send out returns three times three, this is my will, so mote it be!
I really like this very straight to the point, uncomplicated poem. And no, it is NOT a sin to be a Wiccan. I think the only so-called 'sin' would to be not to believe in anything at all; nothing against athiests but believing in spirituality of some sort does help the mind and the spirit of ourselves grow and it allows us to 'connect' with something greater than ourselves. For me, All Gods are ONE God as is All Goddesses ONE Goddess. I think the Divine is so great, so uncomprehensible that no ONE religion could just tie it down. I think the Divine source of all of creation relates to each person, each culture and civiliazation in many different ways; like a kaledeoscope of worship and homage paid to it. To me, I think that is beautiful.
well, thats just my two cents I am adding.
Blessed Be! Lucky | |

Pardon me for bringing this up again, but i don't understand craww, it's ok to be a wiccan and to seek the truth, but it's not ok to be a Satanist and seek the truth, thier both equally non christian paths, i fail to see the difference. Again, nothing against you craww, i'm sure your a nice guy to people you think deserve your kindness. help me understand your thinking here. ~BitterSoul

| is it sin to be a wiccan? Posted: 5/5/2005 9:07:20 AM | Are we there yet?
No, if you ask one more I'm gonna turn this car around. We will not go the land of truth if you don't know how to act right. Now sit there and shut up.

| is it sin to be a wiccan? Posted: 5/5/2005 9:08:48 AM | I suppose it depends on one's perspective.
Leviticus sort of forbids people from consulting mediums or wizards and says to kill mediums and wizards. Perhaps that is not the same as being Wiccan, though the Lord and Lady/God and the Goddess bit is expressly forbidden by the first commandment.
If one believes in that sort of thing, then I imagine it would be a sin to be a wiccan.
But as God's existence cannot be proven conclusively, it might be risky to act on beliefs that are based on the Abrahamic God's existence being true. And, if one does not have certainty, one has to make decisions based on the practical realities of the situation. The practical reality in this case is that you will probably not be smited for being a wiccan, and the only reprisal you are likely to receive for having wiccan beliefs is the reprisal you get from people, not God.
The truth of Wicca is also unproveable though. It seems if someone was going to choose Wicca as a religion over Christianity, then the idea of not acting on a belief that one was not sure about would probably be ignored.
So what do you believe? Is Wicca true and Christianity false? Is Wicca true and Christianity true as well except for the part about worshipping other gods? Are they both false? I think if you ask yourself what you truly believe, the answer will be obvious.
If you want to know what I think though, then I say it is not a sin to be a wiccan... (it may be equally as silly as being any other religion perhaps, but not a sin.)

| is it sin to be a wiccan? Posted: 5/5/2005 4:21:12 PM | I guess it depends on how you define sin... If you use the term as would someone who is religious and believes in god and jesus... then , yes. i am pretty sure it would be a sin. technically speaking. If you mean it like... "oh thats just a sin" type of common usage, then no. but if you are a wiccan then you probably dont buy the christian version of what constitutes being a bad person, or sinning, so... if you are a wiccan then its not a sin, but if your not a wiccan AND you are a christian, then yes. but you can't be a christian if you are a wiccan... so... no... but if you are speaking from the eyes of another person who IS a christian then ... yes... i hope this clears up any confusion

| is it sin to be a wiccan? Posted: 5/5/2005 5:51:55 PM | "Sin" is a Christian term and as such Wiccan would be considered a sin, yes.
However is this world of in thsi world of subjective reality objective truth is relative. Basically, without a creator God there is no one to set the objective standard that tells us what is 'good' and what is 'bad'. As such nothing, by the world's standards, is wrong. I don't use the term 'sin' because, again, that's a Christian term.
Hope that helps. Cheers ~~ Conrad

My $.02 Forget what everyone else thinks...do your own research and find your own path. Look at all the evidence, and decide what YOU believe. What matters to you most, personal truth or approval?

i already know a bunch of them............ i don't really care for satan, i don't like liars. sorry craww but it seems to me that the father of lies is feeding them to you....its either black or white not shades of gray....truth or untruth...These scriptures will give you clear idea, that there is no place in Gods Kingdom for the ocult: 1. Deutronomy 18:9--12--- When thou art come into the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of these nations, 10-there shall not be found among you any one that ,---, or that useth devenation, or an observer of times (Horescope), or an enchanter or a witch. 11- Ora charmer- ,or a councelor of familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. 12- For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord: and because of these abominations (that the enemyes of the Isralites were doing) the Lord thy God doeth drive them out from before thee (whoever practice these things bring defeat ,and elienation from God to themslves), 2. Isaiah 47 :12-15-- --- (This scripture adds to the list the astrologers, the star gazers,....) 3. 2 Kings 17:17 (when a person doeth these things the Bible say they have sold themselves to the devel). 4. Acts 19:19 --- (in this scripture the saints in the new testament brought all their occultic books and burned them before every one.) sorry but i myself had walked in some of these paths untill the lord set me straight....

the person asking the question is not in the nation of israel being led by the spirit working through the appointed leadership of that day.
the person is in the world, searching...
to find the truth, you must live life, and explore, try things......check everything and disgard the lies.
so, you walked in some of those paths too?........ and finally got set straight? well, the path is still there for others too....... it's a progression.

| satan again? Posted: 5/6/2005 1:00:47 AM | | There are those who learn from within (open-minded, forever seeking knowledge via personal experience) and those who learn from without (taking others words and beliefs as fact without any personal experience). Whichever path you chose you must decide yourself, if it is right or if it is wrong, because in the end, the only one who has the right to judge you, is you. | |
|
| satan again? Posted: 5/6/2005 7:04:06 AM | i am actually starting to like you, craww.
one more time for the zion dude: quoting the bible is meaningless to non-christians. would you care if someone quoted the another "holy book" at you? all religions are paths to the same center. noone has the right to judge the state of another person's soul. even YOUR religion says that, although few listen...

| is it sin to be a wiccan? Posted: 5/6/2005 5:46:34 PM | Sorry, Good and bad come from the tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil. There is a way of life, and that is Jesus, if you know him, how can you be a wiccan (wise one),? the first practicing witches: Adam and Eve, (they wanted to be wise, but without Jesus), but GOD being merciful created a mercy seat and forgave them and they repented. I was a Catholic as a child and I never knew Jesus, I only knew about him, and I fell into witchcraft and didn't know that I was serving satan until a Christian friend bound the spirit so it had to tell the truth and It confessed he served satan, So I surrendered my life to Jesus, and was born again. by the way, Jesus took my friend Sam into hell so he could tell about it, and you don't want to go there, and be tortured by demons, especially if your a witch, you see, satan hates pride, because he has so much of it himself, so he detests his followers, who in pride, demand of him like he's a servant, but when they die he gets revenge on them along with all the demons that you think are serving you or are power or energies. Oh yes, in witchcraft during the firt 3 levels they don't tell you that you are worshiping satan, that come in the 4th - 6th degree! Jimy | |

(personal experinece, not all christians are bad so dont take it the wrong way) if it doesnt involve you giving money to a church, everything you do is a sin. if your really wiccan, you dont worry about sinning to god lol, you worry about karma and the rule of three biting you in the butt.
