Soy sause Lawreys seasoned salt couple pinches cinnamon, couple pinches ground fennel black pepper.
Soak the chops in this for 15 minutes then brush with it while grilling.

| Spicing up pork chops..Hurry up Posted: 7/6/2007 11:11:56 PM | Hey Kelly, if you really want it Spicy as in HOT get some of Dave's Insanity Sauce and use just a little if not used to spicy hot as he makes his stuff from condensed habanera peppers. Just a filmy amount will burn out most mouths.
Pork kind of lowers the affects of hot spicy stuff.
If you are going to bread them put the Dave’s Insanity Sauce in what ever it is that you are using for a liquid prior to putting meat in bread stuff. Even if it’s milk as milk has no affect on Dave’s stuff.
I have seen people take a bunch of this stuff and react even worse than that guy with the wasabi powder snorting. SUGAR nulls all hot spicy stuff so keep that in mind.
Now, if you are just thinking of a mild type of spicy then Bree’s recipe will work great, kind of like adding ground pepper or something like that. Everyone tastes things differently.
Dave’s will clear any sinus situation. Wasabi wears off where Dave’s just keeps on going.
If you are interesting in checking Dave’s out have a healthy amount of sugar ready to put in your mouth. Don’t use water, it intensifies the situation.
You can also use Hot Sesame Seed Oils to spice things up.
Practice and experimentation helps find out your tolerance levels and if you are a good judge of your guests tongues too.
Practice on your guest’s tongues if they are your female friends. Why you could have a whole night of practicing and experimenting which makes sense as you don’t want to hurt anyone! LOL
I am most likely too late for you but I hope this helps out in the future. Works great on anything!
Spicy! I love Spicy!!

| Spicing up pork chops..Hurry up Posted: 9/14/2007 11:48:16 AM | Achiote paste! Make up a batch and keep on hand in a small jar in the fridge. It keeps for about a month (but it never lasts that long as you can use it for so many things).
2 tablespoon Achiote Seeds (or ground achiote if you can't find seeds) 2 teaspoon Allspice berries 1 teaspoon Black Peppercorns 1 teaspoon whole cumin 5 whole cloves 1 ½ teaspoon Mexican Oregano 3 tablespoon Cider Vinegar 6 Garlic Clove; Peeled 1 teaspoon Salt
Put all the spices except salt and garlic in a spice mill or grinder and grind to a fine powder, set aside in a small bowl. With a mortar and pestle smash the garlic and salt together to form a paste. Add garlic paste to the powdered spices and blend well. Add cider vinegar a tablespoon at a time, blending well to form a thick paste, add a little more vinegar if needed. Transfer the paste to a small jar and keep in the fridge. Can be smeared directly onto meat or fish (try a 1/2 teaspoon at a time) or diluted with water and or vinegar to make a marinade. This tastes SO MUCH better than the prepared paste sold in the grocery store, and all the spices are easy to find at a good mexican market or grocery.

| Spicing up pork chops..Hurry up Posted: 9/14/2007 3:00:03 PM | | What works best for me is to use black pepper and creole seasoning on them before i cook them then if you want bbq sauce put that on right before they are done.. Makes the best tasting pork chops ever.. cajun seasoning works too. If you grill them on very low temp for along time the meat will be so tender it will melt in your mouth.. | |

| Spicing up pork chops..Hurry up Posted: 9/14/2007 5:03:11 PM | Teckky Check out the Superstore in your area......there's one in that plaza on the corner of Hwy. 11 and Trout Lake Road but I don't think they call it a Superstore....anyway....get into the ethnic food section and look for Walkerswood Traditional Jamaican Jerk Seasoning....it's all mixed up and ready to go. Smeear it on your chops and then cook on low heat. Great on pork roast and any kind of chicken....warning....the longer you leave it on...the hotter it gets. Marinated some chicken for 2 days in it.....man oh man....took the roof off my mouth and injured some delicate tissue on the way out.
If you can't find it....I have some spice mixtures for jerk seasoning for anything.....let me know if you need recipes.

| Spicing up pork chops..Hurry up Posted: 9/14/2007 6:45:35 PM | .....whatever marinade you make for 'chops' .....if you're about to just braise them , sprinkle brown sugar on ..........it will give them that deep dark golden look and add to their taste big time ........love pork chops ......try this : sear your 'chops' both sides ..add bruschetta mix( one teaspoon........marinated 'maters , onions , sweet &green peppers , garlic , basil pesto , salt&pepper & olive oil .........one of my bruschetta recipes ) , add diced-peeled apples , apple juice , bbq sauce ( from store bought bottle ok ) , a dash of Calvados liquor if you're ok with alcohol .........let simmer all for 2 min .........my customers go wild over those pork chops ......... | |
