| Tattoos and Piercings [CLOSED Redundant] Posted: 7/8/2007 12:21:18 PM | I'm very into piercings and tattoos and I don't mind guys who have a lot either. I'm currently tattoo-less bu if you were to search my comp history it's full of tattoo sites and piercing sites. I'm planning on getting many many tattoos, custom pieces because they rock, and the answers here will not affect my decision in any way but I'm curious as to what guys think of gals with a lot of tattoos and I'm not talking about stupid little tribal crap on their lower backs or around their ankles.
What do you think of it? Does it make a different for a covered back and chest, or two full sleeves, etc?
I know a few guys who are intimidated by it. Is this you?
PS: No rude answers please, it's just a question so if you're trying to put me and my lifestyle down then you're just bored and need to leave the house more. Thank you.

| Tattoos and Piercings Posted: 7/8/2007 12:49:51 PM | | I do not like tattoos or piercing on women. With the exception of A piercing in the ears. Meaning, 1 per ear. Have you ever looked into the diseases that are caused by tatoos and piercings? Or potential nerve damage done if the installer hits one? And do you really want to be scarred for life? I wish you would seriously consider not getting any tatoos. You are pretty enough. Do not ruin yourself. | |

| Tattoos and Piercings Posted: 7/8/2007 1:01:11 PM | | Everything has the potential for diseases and I've considered it. I've considered everything. For a couple of years now. I like myself just fine and I don't consider it ruining myself. To me it's a work of art and I'm only willing to pay the best prices for the best tattoo artist I can find. I've seen mistakes happen and I know how to be careful. And I know even if I'm careful one hundred percent things can still happen, but it's worth it. To me it's beautiful and expressive. I thank you for your reply and understand your opinion. | |

| Tattoos and Piercings Posted: 7/8/2007 1:07:57 PM | I met a woman recently who had a couple discreet tatoos and many piercings. I also am acquainted with many who canvass their bodies to a certain degree. I believe tatoos and piercings can be very appealing and sexy.
The woman I was with recently had a piearcing between her breasts. It was a pin with two studs pierced, vertically. I thought that was the hottest piercing I ever saw. I was impressed, to say the least. I thought she would look very sexy wearing an evening dress with a v-line, exposing that piercing - it was hot!
The only thing I don't like about tatoos is when that person is in the later years of their life. Tatoos on an aging body, exposed all over the arms, shoulders, neck, legs, feet, etc., is not very appealing to look at - in my opinion. I was at a wedding recently where a mature woman was in a dress with a low neck line...... a tiger's paw protruded from under the dress, across her left breast... it looked nasty.... it's difficult to dress formal and look elegant with tatoos sticking out from under shoulder straps and skirts.
All I can suggest is that you think about what you will look like when older.... you'll garner attention for the wrong reasons. Other than that, piercings and tatoos can be very appealing, arousing and stimulating. I know I have a fondness for tatoos on certain parts/areas of a woman's body.

| Tattoos and Piercings Posted: 7/8/2007 1:21:08 PM | Thank you for your reply. That piercing you mentioned does sound very interesting in general and worn with an v-neck dress :) I agree with your comment about aging and tattoos. I think that if you love it and it's memories and if you're proud if will make no difference. I get judged wrongly plenty already so I don't mind raising that to another level because I know I would be happy. | |

| Tattoos and Piercings Posted: 7/8/2007 1:22:25 PM | I know one thing for certain- I see some women in here with huge tats all over the place... one girl had one on the top (and presumably throughout) of her chest... all I could think of was "What's THAT going to look like in 10 years?" Blech- the thought wasn't pleasing.
Then again, I saw another woman- a real fit type- with one on her upper arm and it added that little bit of edge to her character. She never did respond to me though hahaha!
But- some people are into it... no doubt about it.
Sounds like you're one of those people... So- to each their own...
Remember- tasteful, and timeless...

| Tattoos and Piercings Posted: 7/8/2007 2:21:25 PM | I personally like tattoos on women. I am not real big on full sleeve work but I think half sleeves are beautiful if well done. I also really hate tats on the breast and above the pubic area. But I’m sure I’m not the first too point out you're eighteen. My son is the same age he wants a lot of tats. I told him 21 and I'll buy his first piece. You don't know it but your going to go through a lot of changes in the next five years much of those changes will be lifestyle changes. Trust me it will happen. Almost every friend I have has one and regrets all of the ones done prior to 21. Most they have covered with other tats.
I have a female friend that at 19 started with a huge eagle tattooed on her chest. She is now 35 and cry's wishing she had never done it. The removal would cause so much scaring it would look worse. She is no longer a freak and now wants a more stable professional man in her life. She will find someone because of the person she is but her odds are greatly reduced because of it.

| Tattoos and Piercings Posted: 7/8/2007 2:52:25 PM | | I agree. At 18 we all thought we were invincible and would live forever. Wrong. I know of quite a few men out there that do not and will not date women with tattoos. And quite a few job interviwers will toss your application in the circular file if they see tattoos. It is not legal, but it is done all the time. And most of the employers i know have told me this: If they see tattoos and or ear rings on males, no job. OP, i just saw the pierced nose you have. If you EVER want to get a decent job and or career going, my advise would be to loose that asap. | |

| Tattoos and Piercings Posted: 7/8/2007 3:01:36 PM | I like tattoos and piercings on a woman, in general. Sleeves and full back are cool, but I agree that the ability to cover a tattoo when working should go somewhere in the thought process. I have one on my arm and am planning another on the other arm, but when I wear a short sleeve t-shirt you can barely see it if at all.
I think that the massive popularity of tattoos might make it so that companies are less judgmental, but it is still something to consider when thinking of where it will go. I know a tattoo on the face or neck isn't going to do much for your future employment.

| Tattoos and Piercings Posted: 7/8/2007 3:06:59 PM | Ears are OK. Nose, tongue, lips, eybrows, and anywhere else on the body is a turn-off.
Small tats in an appropriate place which is not visible, except by choice is OK, such as ankles, small of back. Large tats all over the place is a turn-off. I like women, not men, and men get tattoos.
Good thing you will never want to date me, eh? It's OK. I'll live. I've seen your posts, and even w/out, we're mutually incompatible. Try a biker or a goth. They like girls with tats and piercings.

| Tattoos and Piercings Posted: 7/8/2007 3:27:51 PM | I don't mind tattoos...but there stylish and then having a body that looks like the side of a Formula 1 car or football advertisement boreds.
Same for piercings, I don't mind them but when you get someone with so many piercings that they look like they could be made into a set of curtains that's when I think it's been taken a little too far.

| Tattoos and Piercings Posted: 7/8/2007 3:38:12 PM | Hi Sasha....
I am almost 41 and I still love, love, love my tats! (And I am not finished!) I admit, I place mine in areas where I CAN cover them if I wish to....both shoulders, back of neck, tramp stamp, etc....
I am going through a breast scare right now...doing a biopsy tomorrow...and I have already decided, if I end up having to have a masectomy, I will be getting an incredible, statement bearing, ink job where breasts once were!
I have seen women covered almost head to toe...some were sexy, some were UGH. Kat Von D is one of my new heroes! She is sooooo hot with her body art....not sure she has anyplace left! ;) (Same goes with men....some hot, some not)
I think when you start, the clue is to PLAN AHEAD. If you plan to have a sleeve or 1/2 sleeve or multiples in one area, plan them so they work with eachother so that they do not end up looking like you let a kid loose to color you in like a piece of scrap paper.
I see older people who are wrinkled and tatted and MY view of them is far different than most. I see a piece of historical art! The wrinkles only add character! I hope by the time my wrinkles kick in, I am still with my soul mate....and it would be a non issue anyway. Not to mention, one CAN take care of themselves.
Enjoy...but beware....the REALLY are additive! If anyone questions that and has to ask...well....you would not understand! ;)

| Tattoos and Piercings Posted: 7/8/2007 4:05:43 PM | I think that it is pretty common for motorcycle women to have tattoos all over their bodies. Hey you know it is a way of life and culture to them. You are not anything without a tattoo. I think the more tattoose you get the more respect you will get from the local thugs and what not.
I say get as many as possible.

| Tattoos and Piercings Posted: 7/8/2007 4:09:18 PM | If everyone in town is wearing the same ear/lip/nose/clit/nipple/tongue/belly ring, and is covered with the same cheesey tattoos? Yeah, it'd be pretty frickin' lame.
What do you think of it? If it's good original artwork, I think it's great. When it's all said and done, you're the one who has to live with you.
I know a few guys who are intimidated by it. Is this you? Nope. But I do lose respect for those who show no originality in their idea of "individual expression".
stupid little tribal crap
That, by far is the absolute best description I've seen so far.

This is fair advise your young so don't get in a rush but the other part of the advise sucks be who you want to if the are not going to hire you because of a tat screw them you don't want to work for them anyway playing the game a suggested will just get you to a higher level of wage slavery at best .....but still slavery P.S lot of rednecks own planes as well

| Tattoos and Piercings Posted: 7/8/2007 4:29:14 PM | I'm not impressed by tattoos at all. Not necessarily a turnoff, and I respect the decision a person makes to permanently alter their appearance, but I tend to think they can be shortsighted and anti social.
Of course, I only give my opinion because you asked.
|
| Tattoos and Piercings Posted: 7/8/2007 5:24:07 PM | It's funny how some people say having tats and piercings will somehow put YOU at a disadvantage as some people won't want to date you. I see it as THEY are the ones disadvantaged because they are choosing not to get to know an entire person just because of some coloring on their skin.
I think you should do what you want to do and be what you want to be. Life is short, fleeting, and we never know when it's the last day.

| Tattoos and Piercings Posted: 7/8/2007 5:34:12 PM | | I just got my first of many Tattoos and I must say, it does not hurt near as much as people think. Yes tattoos rock and I have no problem with women having them.its a personal thing.we get inked for many reasons. My tattoos are witness tattoos.they proclaim Jesus. | |
|
| Tattoos and Piercings Posted: 7/8/2007 6:47:26 PM | Sasha,
It is your body, do with it what you will... keeping in mind that not everyone will appreciate the mods you chose, and as some have mentioned, not all employers will accept them either.
Good ink is devine. Bad ink is just bad.
I have a small tattoo above my left ankle.. and multiple piercings, most visible. I do not do these things for anyone other then myself. As it should be.
HarleyKat,
I've been thru that biopsy stuff myself. If you want to talk.. message me.

| Tattoos and Piercings Posted: 7/8/2007 8:06:37 PM | Personally? I can't stand the things. I've dated women with huge back pieces, sleeves, and all kinds of things and quite honestly winced when I saw them, if I wasn't actively ignoring them.
A woman with a lot of ink and piercings on the outside has always seemed to me like she was overcompensating for lack of substance on the inside.
not being rude, just how I see it.

| Tattoos and Piercings Posted: 7/8/2007 8:45:54 PM | | Personally I typically do not have issues with women with tats, as long as they are done tastefully, but the piercings. I might be odd, but I simply do not understand why women feel likey they need or should have their nipples or their genitals pierced. I think both places look great as is, without the clutter of the added jewelry. I have heard many explanations for the desire for the jewelry, but I just don't see the need to have the distraction. But the tats, again, as long as they're done right, no problems. OP, you might consider that the tats you intend to get will not interfere with potential job prospects in the future. | |
|
| Tattoos and Piercings Posted: 7/8/2007 8:48:39 PM | I tend to think it's hot, as long as they're good tats and piercings. As others have said though, make sure you can cover them for a job if need be, at minimum you should be able to cover them with a long-sleeved closed-neck shirt. That means no hand tats except maybe a ring, those can be pretty tasteful, or face tats unless you'll be one of the weirdos with their makeup or eyebrows tattooed on (sorry weirdos, no offense). You'll have the best luck finding guys who like that look if they also have tats or piercings (I have one tat, planning on more ), though there's a decient number of guys who don't have any who like it too. | |

| Tattoos and Piercings Posted: 7/8/2007 9:09:23 PM | | It all depends on where the tattoo is and of what. I mean...comon, I wouldnt want to date a girl that has a giant dildo tattooed on her back. | |

Oh brother! I personally, no not one single local thug. And "respect" for having ink? No...I earn my respect in other ways...my ink has nada to do with it. Also does not come from "thugs."
Employment and tats....it is a changed world now. Used this example in another forum recently...my pediatrician who now treats my grandson, my audiologist, lawyers, etc..all have some form of diversity in regards to tats, piercings, handlebar mustache, long hair, etc... Most employers expect to see more of this thing now...and yes, most will expect them to be reasonably covered. But there are a LOT of careers where your resume is more important than your tats. Military even accepts tats now! It used to be a military experience....hidden by their uniforms of course...and it has changed. I saw a program last nght where a colonel had 1/2 sleeves.
GuynameJeff...you think people with tats tend to be anti social?? Did I read that right? Not me, at all! Most are actually extremely outgoing, who I know!
Overcompensating for something else? LMAO OMGosh...it cannot just be a preference and an expression? It has to be we are missing something elsewhere and getting inked fills that void? LOL
Ironically, 90% of people I meet, are surprised to learn that I have 5 tats! If or when they do see them, they are like, "Wow...cool! I would have never guessed you as having tats all over!"
No 1 bby....many THANK YOU's! :) And {{{{hugs}}}}!
