Would a guy winning the lottery change your mind?

And for the record, I have not.

Let's say a guy messaged you and you weren't sure about him but then you read in his profile "I used to be a (insert average job here) but then that all changed a month ago when I won (insert major state money prize here). Would that swing your "vote," so to speak?

While we're on the subject of "swinging votes," everyone knows there are "sexy professions" but what about race car driving and what would you think if a guy listed that in his profile? Because whenever I tune into the NHRA telecasts for example, pretty much all the drivers have a gorgeous wife/girlfriend cheering them on.

If a man felt the need to advertise he had won the lottery on his profile, I'd think he was not only bragging and shallow, but trying to attract women with that fact. Not that he'll be attracting the good kind. It'd be obviously compensating for what he lacks in personality, and other attributes that he should be using to attract women, instead of money.

I'm so not into the whole race car thing. So, it's not a turn on for me.
As for the lottery, wouldn't make much difference. A lot of lottery winners blow their cash pretty fast. And having money isn't going to make a bad person suddenly wonderful.

I'm sure some superficial women might be swayed, but honestly...not me. I"d have to like the total package, not just the wallet.

In years past money made a diff.. to a woman because she didnt make her own . In todays world women sometimes make more than their partner .. to where having a man with money is not a need , now keep in mind they dont want to support a man which I dont think , a man should have to view he has to support a woman either .

I think as long as each person can hold their own and give something to the partnership to help support the household needs its all that matters ..

Money would not make me want to be with a man ..

Keep in mind those drivers wives you seen .... u mmm MONEY can make anyone start to look good when you got the best of everything on you .. its funny how sometimes men dont realize that ... have you ever seen some of the celebrities without makeup and all done up ? let alone hair peices which is the new trent also .. LOL
I have seen some pics of a few that just shocked the living daylights out of me , made me realize what all money can buy as far as cosmetic etc..

further would you really want someone to like you for your job or money ... have more self esteem in yourself as a person ..

Someone once told me this: "the only people who win are stupid people who blow it within a couple of years, young and irresponsible people, and old people who already have one foot in the grave. Never anybody truly deserving."

For the record, the first 2 groups believe the lottery is like free money. In a way it is, but it's still finite. The 3rd group knows they probably won't be around long enough to enjoy it so they either donate it to charity or set up a very nice fund for their grandkids.

The 4th type know who to set a preset limit to splurge initially and then invest the rest in low-risk high-gain funds like tax-frees. If a person in this group wins say 7 million after taxes they might set aside 1.5mil and invest the rest and just live off the interest.

Many times it's not money. When you're willing to risk your life driving down the 1/4 mile at 200-330mph or tackling turns at 180mph, it automatically gives you an air of confidence in a woman's eyes that you previously may not have had before. Unless of course the woman is not impressed by race car driving, then it doesn't matter.

you took my sentence out of context and broke it up to fit yourself .. I was talking aboutthe fact when someone has money they can use to to make themselves LOOK good not that a MAN looks good cause he has money !!!

as i said

NOW no where did that imply a man looks good cause he has money , its talking about the fact most those girls with money and yes even race car drivers wives become celebs with their own hair and makeup people..

IN an odd twisted way its kind of funny ,, you keep implying that women look at a driver and think his money is what makes him atractive .. but yet YOU are going goo goo so much over the wives you are not even noticing , that yourself is the one falling for someone who is all dolled up because money bought her the best of everything .

Oh, THAT'S what you meant.

BTW I know what you mean about celebs without makeup. Some of them look ghastly without it.

Frankly if I chose a guy because of how much money he has I'm no different than a high class hooker. I date the man, not his bankbook.

Of and for the record, I was just asking. I would not be dumb enough to put it in my profile if I did win.

BTW, here's another variation. Let's say you went out on dates with a guy and he won but never told you. You had to find out by finding his picture "holding the big check." Would you be pissed at him?

I had that happen to me IRL, it was ****ed. I was more interested in him before he told me, then afterwards. Just the realization that all the things he had, he bought after he won the lottery and hadn't actually worked in the real world, and earned what he had.

yeah, shutting up now.

Nope, wouldn't change my view. Money may make the world go `round, but it surely doesn't buy happiness. (love the Beatles song "Can't Buy Me Love")

Race car driving also has no impact on my "swinging vote". Just having a job sure does though.

Cheers.

Just so you know, many drag racers who race on the "amateur level" made more money in select "bracket races" than when they held down jobs.

Why stress my brain thinking about something that isn't likely to happen in this lifetime?

OH! Then in that case, yes that changes my 'vote".

Seriously, with this chic, having a bunch of money isn't what turns me on. Did you read where I posted "can't buy me love"???? Nope, money ain't all that!

In my varied dating history of the past few years I've briefly dated several men who were extremely wealthy. I still had no chemistry and even when I knew more and more and more about the extent of it (they were trying to impress), made no difference.

Later I fell for a plumber.

Course ... I found out 3 months into it that he owned one of the largest companies in several cities our area and was hiding the fact from potential gold diggers... In the end, that wasn't all he was hiding, so he was a liar from the start.

Rich, middle class or poor, finding a good one is a lot like work.

I have my own money. I don't need anyone else's and they can't have mine. I'm just looking for a partner.

End of story.

No, I'd think he was bragging or lying if he put it on his profile. Either way, a bunch of money doesn't fix it if there's stuff wrong with you.

I don't think racecar driving is attractive at all but it has its fans. There are always beautiful women who want to be with rich men.

If I wasn't interested in him before, I still wouldn't be after the lottery winning..

I don't care if he pumps gas for a living if he's the one he's the one, money doesn't much matter to me..I have my own

OP,

I honestly don't believe it would make a difference to me. As so many out there have said, having money doesn't make a bad guy good. I have to admit, there may be the most briefest of temptations, but, after I regained my senses, LOL it really wouldn't make a difference

As to the race car driver thing. Well, Race Car driving is like any other dangerous profession, such as Firefighters, Police, Military, etc. while these all tend to have their set of "groupies" ( forgive the expression I couldn't think of a better one), eventually, these professions end up being hard on a relationship or marriage for the very reason they made the person so attractive in the first place, the element of danger.

Of course all this is just my humble opinion

Other than him lying about the other things it was pretty smart of him, if I was dating a women for a short time, I would hesitate to tell her I own a business as well. Maybe later on but not initially.

If a guy messaged me and I saw his profile saying he had won a lottery, I'd message him back and wish him a good life...

Not that having money is necessarily a bad thing, but simply for the fact he was advertising he had money. If lottery winnings is his "bait", he can hook other little fishies...
