| Racecity this Saturday Posted: 7/10/2007 3:21:32 PM | LATE MODELS AT RACE CITY ON SATURDAY NIGHT Legends and NASCAR Stockers on the Same Card The high-banked half-mile oval track at Race City will roar back to life this weekend with one of the wildest AUTO VALUE Saturday Night Stocks shows of the season. Headlined by the Border Challenge 150, the first 2007 appearance of the NEWALTA Late Models at Race City this year, this race is an important stop on the NEWALTA series championship trail and should attract nearly 30 of Western Canada¹s top Late Model stock car teams. Late Model stock cars are pure racing cars with powerful V8 engines, purpose-built tube chassis and fiberglass bodies. They are capable of screaming around the very fast Race City oval in under 17 seconds. Another exciting class is the Mac¹s Legends Cars, 5/8ths scale replicas of '30s coupes and coaches powered by high-revving motorcycle engines. Legends Cars run on very hard highway-type tires and that makes these little screamers a real handful on the Race City high banks. Race City¹s feature NASCAR Stock Car class are back in action for track, provincial and national points. The racing in this division has been very close this year and the championship is too close to call. SATURDAY spectator gates open at 6pm. AUTO VALUE Saturday Night Stocks action begins at 7pm The night will be capped off with a fireworks show | |

| Racecity this Saturday Posted: 8/20/2007 12:08:57 PM | Hi there! I see you are Race City Raceway fan. Myabe you may have heard of my brother, he does not drive all the time only when he can afford to get his car going. His name is Murray Westling, he owns the Forest Lawn Minute Muffler on 17thSE. He also recently bought another muffler shop in Cochren and turned it into a Minute Muffler. From what I understand he does sponser a couple of cars out there.
I also have another brother that drag races motorcycles in Calgary, the Hat, Olds, etc. He is rather well know on that circut, as he has actually a couple of years ago made it all the way to the Worlds Drag Races. All classes of drag racers race over a number of days. He is a contender to represent this division again this year.
i am also a fan of stock car racing, for some strange reason. Gee could you tell me why. My bother Murray started racing here at our local track Bridge County Raceway. Murray makes tha odd appearance down hear. We have a dirt track. I even volunteered for over 10yrs. Was very very unappreciated, so I finally gave up. I have even raced in two different Powder Puff Races. Now that was an experience in it's self. The only way for me to describe it is the statement I made the first time I after got out the car racing, "What a natural high! Who needs drugs if I can high like this!!!". Not that I have EVER done drugs of ANY type. But I felt like I was flying.
So let me know if you have heard of either of my brothers. It would be interesting to find out how well know they are on the circut.
