| I'm sick of the same ole same ole Posted: 7/14/2007 5:10:42 PM | | I need ideas for a good lunch and I'm sick of sandwiches! I've finally started my workouts and need to keep the protien intake high, I've gotten some ideas from a couple of trainers but I think that the fems know how to feed a man! I'll eat anything, I just need some good ideas for an easy and quick lunch, I'm an electrician soo its kinda hard to have a hot meal at lunch when we're doing a new building, and since its summer I like to have cold lunches anyways, Being a bachelor doesnt help either, lol, any good ideas would be much appreciated! I have a very fast metabolism so it doesnt matter what I eat but I'd rather have the healthy stuff instead of taco bell, mc'd's, and all that other crap........FEED ME!!!!! lol Thanks!!! | |

| I'm sick of the same ole same ole Posted: 7/14/2007 8:24:31 PM | I am an electrician too, and a guy I worked with did all kinds of wraps, for his lunch and breaks every day with common leftovers or lunch meat and cheeses, ranch dressing, salsas...etc... easy to throw in your cooler and can also be eaten on the run. excellent idea. | |

Ok, first off, if you expect woman to help you, don't tell us that you have a high metabolism and can eat anything...you bum! When everything many women eat goes straight to their tummies, thighs, and butts. Ok, I'm composing myself... if you promise never to rub something like that in again, I'll give you some of my favorite summer tips.... Do you promise?? Ok then.
Macaroni, cheese and ham salad. Make your basic mac salad and cube cheese and ham in it. Even cube chicken. You can add curry powder to kick it up a little.
Make and Italian Pasta salad using an Italian dressing. Those Suddenly Salad pasta mixes are very good, and you can dress them up by adding any number of meats, bacon, and cheeses to them.
Make a pea salad the same as you would a potato or macaroni salad, and add shrimp or any other type of meat that you choose.
All of these salads are wonderful and refreshing when served cold.

| I'm sick of the same ole same ole Posted: 7/14/2007 11:06:05 PM | Try any one of the chicken breast salads posted recently in the grapes thread. High protein, good nutrients/vits from the grapes. Even better is you can make these from leftovers like the deal the local deli runs on the whole rotisserie chickens. It's a fantastic way to keep it healthy, flavor variety high, and cost low.
As long as you have a little lunchmate box and some kind of gelpack to keep it cool you're safe with anything containing mayo.
Also check out any of the threads on picnic foods, a lot of those are very simple and meant to travel.

| I'm sick of the same ole same ole Posted: 7/15/2007 12:13:24 PM | Cut the drumsticks off one of those rotisserie chickens, chill them and pack them for lunch. Then you have the rest of the chicken for dinner, or to make wraps. Or, buy a fresh chicken and cook it and do the same.
Make some hard boiled eggs and chill 'em (or deviled eggs if you have a good cooler bag).
Make a crab or lobster salad, then freeze it. Should be thawed by lunchtime and you can serve with a croissant or as a wrap, or with avocado halves.
