| Support our Troops!!! Posted: 5/5/2005 5:10:38 PM | You will soon see a lot of people wearing Red on Fridays. Here's why ..... The Americans who support our troops, are the silent majority. We are not "organized" to reflect who we are, or to reflect what our opinions are. Many Americans, like yourself, would like to start a grassroots movement using the membership of the Special Operations Association, and Special Forces Associations, and all their friends, simply, to recognize that Americans support our troops. We need to inform the local VFW's and American Legion, our local press, local TV, and continue carrying the message to the national levels as we start to get this going. Our idea of showing our solidarity and support for our troops is -starting Friday, and continuing on each and every Friday, until this is over, that every red - blooded American who supports our young men and women, WEAR SOMETHING RED. Word of mouth, press, TV -- let's see if we can make the United States, on any given Friday, a sea of red much like a home football game at a University. If every one of our memberships share this with other acquaintances, fellow workers, friends, and neighbors, I guarantee that it will not be long before the USA will be covered in RED - and make our troops know there are many people thinking of their well-being. You will feel better all day Friday when you wear Red! Let's get the word out and lead by example; wear RED on Fridays. | |

| Support our Troops!!! Posted: 5/6/2005 6:41:44 AM | If you don’t like the way our government is doing its job, it is your patriotic duty to tell them or vote them out of office.
Conserve gas - use mass transit, ride-share, ride a bike, or telecommute. It is the patriotic thing to do.

| Support our Troops!!! Posted: 5/6/2005 3:37:36 PM | I'm going to wear a black arm band for the 100000 + dead and dying Iraqis. Anyone who supports this butchery should take the extra step. Dont bother with the red shirt, put on the jackboots and join the service if you support the murder, rape and torture of these "rag heads" who are so far away. You all might as well, there is a draft blowing in your way anyways...
Good luck with that. | |

| Support our Troops!!! Posted: 5/6/2005 4:14:31 PM | ^^^^cool pic of the Northern lights.(if thats what it is)... Where did you get that #.....if our mission was to kill Iraqis, we could kill all of them....we could have levelled Fallujah, but instead we had OUR soldiers die, so we could weed them out. How convenient to criticize another, when your country does nothing....when this democracy succeeds, you may see a dominoe effect in the middle east. Do you think there is never any cost? | |

| Support our Troops!!! Posted: 5/6/2005 7:17:48 PM | "that every red - blooded American "
Interesting,I always thought ALL PEOPLE were red blooded So do the 1's with blue blood just were blue? I honestly feel that all Americans support the troops.......its just that the smart 1's want to support them by having leadership that wouldn't send poor and middleclass young men and women to possibly die for a cause they wouldn't even think about sending their own children or grandchildren to do the same.Bush feels the destruction/occupation/rebuilding of Iraq was needed and very justified. Is there anyone dumb enough to think he'd let 1 of his kids actually see combat time in Iraq? How about a 1st cousin?......nephew?
Now exactly what does wearing red do for the troops? I does so much more for the propaganda needed to get Americans whipped up about comming together for "support" and NOT about questioning WHO put them in harms way and "why"!What will be waiting for them in terms of economy and WHY!

| Support our Troops!!! Posted: 5/6/2005 7:30:21 PM | | Our troops should be home right now. The only way to make peace is to not fight. That is why Canada and France are so reknowned for being peacekeepers. If only the Bushite neo-KKKons would see the truth, that Bush LIED to steal oil. I personally saw a big Tanker full of oil docked at NYC, it was straight from the coast of Iraq filled with premium gasoline, straight from the ground. That's a FACT. No amount of Iraqi lives are worth the cost we are paying to our economy. The Iraqis are costing us BILLIONS of dollars EVERYDAY, and they are not worth it. We need to be like Canada and not care if they all die. Damn our war-mongering govt... DAMN THEM!!!! | |
|
| Support our Troops!!! Posted: 5/6/2005 8:32:16 PM | | I think if you know for a fact that President Bush is a lier and incompetent you should do everything possible to get him out of office. You are entilted to free speech. You have that right as an American. It is the Patriotic thing to do. | |

| Support our Troops!!! Posted: 5/6/2005 9:39:05 PM | | Marathon man....you have absolutely no clue about Bush or what goes on in his head, trust me....there have been quite a few officers killed over there also, and you'd be surprised as to what kind of families they come from. I think having a Muslim Democracy set up in the Persian Gulf reason is a pretty good reason to finish the job also... | |

| Support our Troops!!! Posted: 5/6/2005 10:03:26 PM | If the mulahs take over they will, which will have meant all this was for nothing...they did have what 60% turnout for their election...imagine what the turnout here would be if our lives were at risk... What is Sharia law? | |

| Support our Troops!!! Posted: 5/6/2005 10:19:35 PM | ^^^^^Fly fishing? I'm not a fisherman but I know some awesome holes here if you ever want. I appreciate everyone that makes me think. Please take the response here with a grain of salt.
The vast majority of our dead in Iraq do not come from aristocratic families, I think you know that. Our volunteer forces are largely made up of minorities and poor, I think you know that too. We need to see this through, no argument, but we also can't gloss over these realities. You are right, we don't know what runs through the President's mind. I know Sadam paid 25k to Suicide Bomber families, I know that Halibuton and Marathon, etc., are not going to make the killing so many conspiradcy theorists think they are. But why Iraq?
Honest, friendly question: Do you think Iraq should have been a higher priority than pressuring the house of Saud to Shut up the Wahabi? Whether that would bring blood to the Saudi Street or not? 15 hijackers, no accountability from what I've seen? I don't care if they own almost 10 percent of the US and how tenuous their rule is, it's time they come clean in my kenning. You look like a Bush friend. I respected Bush Sr. for witholding comment on Clinton's Impeachment, among other things. I'm looking for more respect for the Bush of today, it is a struggle but a worthy one. My apologies for all the insults I've put forth in my posts, but I am angry like many. I hope you understand that.
Although I agree with little the Administration has done my respect for the President is growing while National support of the policy fades. I did think the whole thing was about oil, but now I realize given the enormity of the errors in intelligence he may have simply made a colossal mistake, whether in trust or vision. Many say the President is an extremely likeable guy. Our problem is simply that half of us feel entirely disenfranchised. I hope the President makes a move towards reconciliation soon. Given the likeability factor I believe this very well might happen. Wishfull thinking? Perhaps, but something tells me this man does not want to end his public service detested by half the country. If he could just admit a mistake, however small, that would jumpstart the car and help us drive away from the divisive confrontation that may hit the American Street in the coming months. But we need to give up some ground on the left too. It's so complicated. A few months ago I thought I had all the answers. Now that was wishfull thinking.
Peace to you all, and good night!
John

I don't think this will happen, unless we leave prematurely.

| Support our Troops!!! Posted: 5/6/2005 10:52:19 PM | | Well thought out responses, look forward to hearing more from you...I'm beginning to think that Bush may be judged more fairly with time, our history is full of these type of Presidents. If a stable democracy in the Muslim world results from this, he definitely will. I think he did state that he made the best judgement he could with the intelligence he had at the time. Just glad we have a Pres who will make some tuff decisions, and yes I KNOW what a quality person he is first hand, and I'll leave it at that. | |
