It would have to be planned out a ways ahead to get a good count and the 'seating' would be another challenge ( no fun if you are all scattered all over the stadium). Could even set up a place to meet later for a wind down after the game. Soooooooo, what do you think? | |

I think if the meet is planned for any other game than the Labour Day classic (I think getting a group of tickets in the same section might be a challenge), there'd be a great turnout.
You can count me it. I might have to restrain myself from being the usual 'vocal'   fan though (ya know, don't wanna upset any delicate sensibilities of unsuspecting first timer POF meets/Rider game attendees).

Maybe they will bring in extra bleachers like they did for last year. That is the best day for football, doesn't matter if you have been a Rider fan forever or not. It is always a good time. If you are a Bomber fan, make sure you bring enough tissues. Maybe bring some for Westwood too. HA HA. Let me know if you are getting something arranged would definately be up for that. Balls to that plan! The best part of attending games is being the 13th (wo)man! Where would the defence be if everybody sat on their hands and kept their mouths shut? It just wouldn't be Talyor Field (or Mosaic Stadium). New attendees must learn (a "baptism by fire" if you will) what exactly attending a Rider home game consists of. Be loud... be proud... and no streakin' (at least not before the clock says 00:00)! | |

Posted: 7/21/2007 5:24:35 PM | Welllllll, I've never 'streaked'  yet, and I'm willing to go out on a limb and say that I NEVER (yes, you read it here first) will. BUT if I won't be the only vocal fan there, I'm pretty sure I can be coaxed to be my usual 'orally boisterous' (I didn't Google that term, but I do believe it's quite descriptive) self. 
So, as anewstrt asked, are you saying Yay or Nay to his proposed POF get together suggestion? Inquiring minds always wanna know.  | |

I think a football meet is a great idea. It's good to get a variety of events happening for singles in our fine city.
I think I've been to one football game my entire life. Depending on the weekend, I would come out and join you guys and gals but , I get to sit by KissMyMapleLeaf because I have nooooooooooo idea about the do's and don’t’s of football etiquette and definitely need her to hold my hand learning this "baptism by fire" .  | |

It's a deal blondie! You've been a true treasure of a friend and so helpful (and some might say even more persuasive than I'm known to be) when it comes to getting folks out to dances that they weren't real anxious to attend. And lo and behold, a good time was had by all!
So, wear something green if ya got it, and be prepared to be completely embarassed by the crazed fan sitting next to you who knows that the defensive line needs LOUD encouragement to get the job done. Hey, if we're real lucky, we'll get to sit behind the opposing team's bench and critique their performance!!  | |

C'mon folks, we gotta show our support for a meet like this, if we want someone to organize it for us. I think it'll be a good way for local singles (or even those not so local) to get out in a different sorta atmosphere, and see yet another side to our charming personalities *biting lip now*

It really didn't matter if I yelled too loud as so did everyone else in the section. Being in the front row I got a good view of the happenings on the field ...shame shame I should have closed my eyes...lol. I would be interested in going to a game as well. | |

Or better yet, I can picture you with one of those baseball caps with two cans mounted on the sides and a straw to your mouth (great way to keey yourself hydrated and cool while you work up a steam cheering on our team)!

Posted: 8/8/2007 5:31:57 PM | anewstrt, I think the trick is to actually plan a specific date and get it posted, like the other meets, so that folks see a link to it when they read their mail. Just pick an arbitrary game date, and then folks can decide to sign up or not. If we get a dozen folks, good... if we get two dozen, great... but either way, it's another venue for folks to meet n greet and exercise their vocal chords !!
Don't get disheartened by the slow responses, particularly over the summer holiday season. Pick a game in September, you might even risk the Labour Day classic, but I do think getting a group together would be difficult. Somebody mentionned a box seat special too, that might be worth looking into. Either way, pick a date, post the thread as a party thread, so it links for people by their inboxes, and see what kinda responses we get.

I would definately be up for going to a game this year!! There is nothing like sitting in the stands @ Taylor Field (It will always be that for me!!) with a beer and a brautwurst. Then you know you are at a game , that and being next to all those awesome RIDER FANS!!!!!!! So wear your green loud and proud and show them that you bleed green. After all is there any other color????? Hope to get something organized soon!!!! | |
