Just been reading the tesco breakfast thread and I was wondering how many of you are in the habit of collecting freebies. Have you stayed in a hotel and taken home anything that wasn't screwed down e.g. soap, shampoo maybe even towels or bathrobes. Taken a flight on a plane and tried to fit as many free drinks and snacks in as possible before you land. Gone to trade shows and come home with carrier bags full of freebies or anything else that could be snaffled.

Does any of this apply to you?

last time i stayed at a hotel, my room was a mess when i arrived i complained and was asked if i minded going to the bar for complimentry drinks until my room was ready?
both me and my partner at the time both agreed, so i had 9 pints and she had 6 j.d and cokes. im sure they only ment to give us one complimentry drink each

I have a liking for those big fluffy white bath towels that you get in the nice London hotels....

Tip take an extra holdall in your case and find the laundry cuboard which in the big hotels is normally on all floors and when you have the opportunity grab half a dozen or so and take them to your room...
They never miss them from the laundry cuboard but their sneaky buggers when it comes to counting the towels in your room when checking out.

I always grab the shampoos and soaps. Some of them are really nice. Plus, can use them when on a camping holiday as the bottles are nice and small.
Not progressed to towel or robe 'borrowing' yet, hate the fact of using a towel that others have used. Maybe it's just me as i take my own anywhere i stay.

Items that are screwed down are suppose to stop us?
Travel electric screwdriver always comes in handy.

Nah i'm not that bad, but if something is free and i can use it, of course i'm going to take it.

Probably have at some time or other...but such is my memory that I can't remember ever bothering.

Think funniest instance of this I can recall was after a couple of mates and I were coming back from a really over-priced "real ale establishment". Half way home I became aware that my mate was still clutching an empty mug. "Should you have taken that John?" "Certainly I paid for it, and probably put the landlord's kids through public school."

Reminds me of a night out long ago back in Bristol, my housemate and I had spent the evening in a nice pub on the harbour waterfront, and come closing time we were ambling back when we noticed a big stack of pint glasses by one of the farthest outside tables. Well, considering we'd not long moved in and had no pint glasses at home, and that we'd spent a fair wad of cash in there over the course of the evening, we nabbed them and headed for home. Rounding the corner into our street, we saw there were a couple of police cars parked up outside the pub at the end of our road. So we ask on the way past what'd happened. The policeman glanced briefly at our big stack of empty pint glasses and says, "Pub was robbed." We tutted theatrically, said something along the lines of "Huh, what a world eh..." and nipped home sharpish...

Yeah when I go shopping with a friend, the first place we head to is a big department store, where we get a free makeover, so that we look good (yes I need all the help I can get *shh at the back I'm not deaf*) for shopping, then head off to do our shopping looking good (awww, okay reasonable)

Also love to use their toiletries in hotels, some are so cute.............but can't be bothered to take them home
