Here the issue right now, seems like every guy under the age of 25 wants a older woman to experience great sex. Well not eveyone wants a younger guy, seems like they are more of an issue then a pleasure. TOO much DRAMA. They don't like it when you say your not interested, they get nasty and rude. hate the word NO. Personally I like 28 and over because they seem to be more mature, reponsible , can take the word no and understand it the way its meant to be taken. Personal preference to me and not meant to be taken as an insult, does any other woman or man even find the same thing on single sites. A little different frm the mans perspective but some younger ladies like older men as well becasue of the same reasons.

Yeah, I wanted older women when I was 19, can see why a lot said no. But you relaize these things by getting older.
Nice tats by the way.

Personally, I couldn't date a women who's more than 5 years younger than me. I got no time to be a father figure. I read some of these postings from teenagers who are like 17 or 18 yrs old. They want to date someone men between 18 and 35. They say, take the time to know me before you judge me. Listen girls you're 18 yrs old. I don't want to have to raise you. The maturity level is just not there. No offense but I want a women with whom I can have an actual conversation with. Not yak about what your friend said to this guy and she called her, I can't believe she said that. Is he going to call her back?

Well that's my rant for today.

I understand why younger guys want older, no issues, no committements required from some, but not all of us are looking for that same reason, nothing wrong with having a few friends but just not into the headaches..Im no ones sugar momma and no intentions of being one either

And thanks, I like em too!!

Seriously Random? A cougar = older woman who attracts or is into younger men.
Don't know what the age differenciation is specifically. An older woman "on the prowl" for younger men... "sweet young thangs", if you will. And believe me, the cougar prey comes ready and willing. It's kind of like watching nature shows on tv where something is hunted down and devoured... fascinating and morbid at the same time.

I consider myself to be Cougar-age now that I've turned 35, (though I know some people think it's 40 and higher).

In the past, my girlfriends and I used to date guys who were five or more years younger, and think we were being so risque and autre. I'm really not interested in dating younger guys as I used to be, so I guess I don't have Cougar-attitude. *laugh*
Now it just seems kind of pointless, but I know some women are really into it.

The majority of my recent emails on POF have been from guys aged 21-26, so you have to wonder if they're into Cougars themselves.
Flattering? Yes, in a weird way, but kind of unsettling too.
I can't imagine bringing one of these young studlies to meet my parents... or theirs *laugh*

Well I always thought it was around 40 to be considered a cougar. Most of the guys hitting on me lately are closer to my sons age then me..Not looking to babysit and change diapers anymore, did it, done it, bought the t-shirt..

I must live a sheltered life - even though I have been into younger men for a few years, I never heard the term "cougar" till I came to POF.

Older women into younger men get a cool name like cougar. Older men into younger women get labeled perverts and dogs. Is there a double standard here?

I like to date within 5 years of my age. It used to be 3 when I was younger, but it relaxes a bit as you get older.

When I was younger (24) I had a relationship with and older woman (36-all sexual)... I was treated like a hero by my friends. Then recently, had a relationship with a younger lady, (20) while I was 31. Guys being older is more "socially acceptable". As long as it is isn't too much.

Maturity level is the key factor in my opinion. Cougars don't want conversation when they date younger men, they want sex and they want alot of it. (or so it seems)...

It seems that lately with women who are taking their careers seriously and taking the time to establish themselves, they are waiting longer to get into relationships. Once they get established in their careers, they wanna have some fun. I say let them have their fun. The biological clock is ticking though, just don't forget that ladies.

Any opinions?

Yeah I find that in general, 19 to 24 are just lame in my area. Yet, of course, most of the females interested in me or persuing me are in that age group. Go figure. These young wants what to sit back and let a man drive their life, yet they also want to be "independant". They are contradictory to themselves in many ways.

The best ones are around my age or older.

I didnt know there was a term cougar. For a long time, guys 7-8 years younger than me would persue me. I didn't like the fact they were younger. Then I dated some guys 7-8 years older. CONCLUSION: Age makes no real difference. Some guys 50 can be more immature and irresponsible than a guy frsh out of high school. You cannot judge someone by age. Respect does not come with age either, so have no illusions ladies. What you see is what your gonna get.

No wonder I never heard the term - it doesn't describe me.

Yeah, sex is great, but what I like about younger men IS the conversation, the humor, the attitudes. That's why I have young male friends too.

If alll I wanted was young guys for sex, I would be too busy to be hanging out on the forums.

I've always been interested in those older than me, because I like commitments. Age I simply can not see a barrier as it may mean nothing depending on the person. I have a huge preference to those older as they are normally more experience and are normally looking for something more serious.

With that said, I would never turn down a chance to get to know someone 7 years younger than myself, because you never know!

I should have proof read that. :P

Also, only because I can see this brought up later, I said 7 years younger because that's the youngest I can legally go. I would go up to 15 years older, depending on the person.

I had a courgar for a short while during my senior year in college. We met in a bar, had some great dates (talked a lot), played rachetball, ended up in bed (She was very talented and patient). To bad she had a 14 yo son who was 6'2" 200. He was bigger than I was and didn't like me dating his mom. I decided there were plenty of fish in the sea :D
