| Your Four Legged Kids Pet Names! Posted: 7/27/2007 7:11:51 AM | Seems we all have significant fur bearing critters languishing about our homes. And my three monkeys (2 dawgs & a kitty) have their given names and their a.k.a.'s ...I just wondered what other ponders might call their furry loved ones? This comes from the proud POP of Goldie Lox aka Rolex and Polly aka Timex and my cuddly lil Angel aka Fur Face . Why Rolex and Timex you ask? Well they are watch dogs... they watch me from the couch or the bed. And they have really intense stares when I'm shoving groceries in my pie hole! LOL! So ponders enlighten us to your pet names for your pets! | |

| Your Four Legged Kids Pet Names! Posted: 7/27/2007 9:01:19 AM | I already told yall about my kids
Sorry. Ok My animals. Welp lets start with Katie. I adopted Katie from HARPS. She was a beaten 8 month old white German sheppard/lab mix. We have had her for 2 years. Katie is honestly my daughters baby. She has learned to run in front of "Cricket" to alert her I called her. She moves to the side of the road and sits if "Cricket" is walking her and a car comes. When Cricket has a seizure Katie sits by the bed and barks till I come. If Cricket is out of bed in the middle of the night, Katie is in my bed licking my face. She is amazing. Oh and she hates most males. If I don't hug you when you walk in my door, she will be weary of you all night.
Then there is Bucky, he is also a HARPS adopted Minature Palm. My ex adopted him last Christmas for my daughter. She asked for a pocket dog like Paris, and we got Bucky. Bucky is not so amazing. He thinks Katie is his girlfriend. Follows her everywhere. He is tan, and to dang tiny for my taste. I almost step on him at least 10 times a day.
Then there is Cheetah. Cheetah is adopted from my daughter's therapy place. They had a cat that had kittens before I helped get the kittens into HARPS I took this one. My son and I had a deal he could get a cat after he raised a guinea pig for a year and did all it needed. I lost. Cheetah Paw Paw is mixxed breed, kinda has the cheetah pattern on his tummy and back. He is rotten to the core and knows it. He sleeps with my youngest, and when the kids are gone he sleeps at the foot of my bed along with the rest of the group. He will nudge, bite, meow (he's very vocal), pounce and moan at you to get attention. He chases Bucky for hours around the house and gets annoyed that Bucky can fit exactly where he can.
Thats my fur clan | |

| Your Four Legged Kids Pet Names! Posted: 7/27/2007 10:33:54 AM | Good topic Skunkaroonie. I have 2 cats and they are spoiled rotten. I obtained Aaron, born Sept. 1, 2001; my solid black persian when a Mama cat had kittens under some shrubbery at my stepson's house. Like I said, he is solid black and when he was born he had blue eyes. I just knew I was finally going to have a cat with blue eyes but not to be. His eyes turned greenish in color as he matured, but you can still see a little blue around the edges. I call him Mama's baby boy. He really thinks I am his Mother because from the time I got him he would "nurse" on my right arm in the bend of my elbow. He did that for years but he stopped about a year ago. He is still a little mean and he will come to you when he wants to be petted but other than that he wants to be left alone. Sometimes when I want to get him in the house (they both stay in at night); I ask him if he wants "chicken" or "peanut butter" and he will come running. He loves both. He thinks when I eat he has to have some of whatever I am having and yes I usually give it to him unless I think it will upset his stomach.
Megan wandered up to my house when she was about 6 months old. The best the vet could calculate, she was born around April of 2002 so I gave her April 1, 2002 as her birth date, but she is nobodies fool, lol. She knows exactly how to get her way. She is a grey tabby with a dusting of yellow just on the tips of her fur, hence came the name Megan. The tips are the color of nutmeg. She has medium length hair and yellow eyes. She is very gentle and even tempered but she won't let me touch her stomach unless she is getting ready to go to sleep and then she will start kneading on me and I rub her belly. I call her Mama's baby girl, Mama's good girl or pretty girl. When she wants to wake me she will touch my face with her paw. At first without claws and then if I don't respond she will use the claws but very lightly. They both will rattle the blinds and they have learned "that" most definitely will get me out of bed, lol. They are my babies and I love them

Ive got a rockwyler named satan. He's a great dog. Dependable and very loving. Plus he keep's the rodient's out off the house and yard. I have no mice, rat, or cat problem around my house.lol Anyone want to bring there cat or cat's over and meet satan. I like Rottweilers; it's generally their owners that are hard to deal with.
I have a cat named Oliver (he, too, keeps the rodent (moles/field mice) population down around my yard. I don't have them in the house.) He kills too many birds though. He's a very bad cat!
I have 2 dogs: Molly & Ginger. Molly is the lover; Ginger is the fighter. They each have nicknames: Mollycule and G-Max/GingerSnap.

| Your Four Legged Kids Pet Names! Posted: 7/27/2007 12:51:17 PM | wow Tea my sister had a cat named Molly...also aka mollycule...funny. And did you hear about the cat named Oliver who predicts deaths in a nursing home?? So far 25 deaths predicted.
All of my pets are rescues...my all time favorite, RIP, Ms Kitty required NO introduction!!!...I had her for 16 yrs. I found her at a pet store one day on my route with a dental lab. She had a hurt foot in a hamster cage with 2 other kittens. Then she was cream colored but later developed the beautiful platinum and champagne stripes that her breed is known for. The salesman gave her to me half price $5 and some food if I'd take her since her foot was hurt. She was a lynx point siamese with the bluest eyes you ever saw, She was my protector, if you didn't pass her test we didn't date!!! She was my best friend...my kids will tell you that I treated her better than them. My answer to that was she didn't lie, steal or skip school. But she was my best friend. It took me 3 yrs to get to where I could talk about her passing without it tearing me up. I still miss her terribly.
Dogs:
Ok...I have a 45# Australian Shepherd who adopted me about 7 yrs ago...former home abused him...he was caught by a neighbor trying to get with his 300# Rottweiller and the guy popped his foot with a lead pipe, broke the toes and they swelled like marbles...this only served to make him look really pitiful when I found him...took him to the vet thinking he had been hit by a car til I saw the x-rays, got him snipped...oh and named him Casanova aka Cas for what got him in trouble in the first place...he has had obedience training and is a real lover of a dog...scared of the cats tho...back to the abuse...doesn't know what a ball or frisbee are for but we are working on that. He loves to go with me into the garden and hang out in the yard when it isn't too hot but he prefers his comforts of airconditioning and protection from the rain and noisy thunder. He tends to hide behind the toilet when he knows a storm is coming.
Cats:
Scoobie-Doo aka Scoobs ~14yrs...white with brown tabby spots and a ringed tail, one brown ear and one white, a big brown nose and big green eyes and a snuggler til the day he dies...also abused...will hide under my pillow when afraid...inside the case. Must eat constantly and does not require assistance with opening a loaf of bread or box of crackers. Likes to throw himself down on the floor on his side to hear the wind get knocked out of him...sick huh? then he rolls and scoots all over the floor like an inch worm. He also part-times as a slinky...likes to wind thru your legs as you walk.
Tiffany aka Tiffy ~16 yrs...orange and brown tabby persian my mom rescued from the humane society....thinks my bed is hers and she just lets me use it from time to time. Large copper colored eyes and the tinyest nose you ever did see...barely makes a peep and very loveable. Likes to lay around in the sunshine on her back and hates to be groomed. My mom told me just about 2 months ago..."I hate to tell you this now that you have gotten attached to her but when I brought her to your house (16 yrs ago) I was just parking her there til I had room for her." My daughter had named this cat after a girl in grade school that she desperately wanted to be friends with and wouldn't give Kelley the time of day. The girl the cat was named after thot she was the prettiest in all the land and well...let's just say it caught up with her.
Maxamillian Alfacentauri aka Max ~12 yrs...chocolate point himalayan. Another rescue from the pound...his step-sister Fru-Fru has since died of cancer. She was a flame-tipped himi. NO, I didn't name either of them. Max has cream colored hair and BIG BLUE EYES with a dark chocolate mask on his face and the appropriate dark tips and stockinged feet and a big tail. He is very prissy and needy...must be held constantly and likes to knead your skin and drools alot.
Now for my mom's...
My mom had a favorite...Oreo aka Cookie he was also my favorite of hers...a humongous bi-color persian...tail hair was 8 inches so side to side was quite impressive!!! He had a swagger to put Mae West to shame!!! He got sick about the same time my mom did and lived another 14 months...so far she has beat his record!!
Princess ~14yrs...solid white angora with one green and one blue eye. Gorgeous cat with a tiny little meow and can turn on you in a second...when I feed her she likes to rub on the same hand holding the food so I find myself often times picking the food back up off the floor.
Hillary ~15yrs...my mom got from a lady who owned a health food store and lived in Griffin on a horse farm. She is a solid black angora named after Senator Clinton...my mom said cuz she talked too much...and the cat really does talk too much...a little hellion but very sweet...sometimes my mom refers to the 2 angoras as yin and yang.
then there's Bugsy...aka lady bug ~5yrs...maybe, her mom was ferrel and her father thought she was plenty young enough to start producing babies when she was only a couple months old...she got sick and my mom took her in...her brother, the runt also got sick and had to be put down with leukemia. But Bugsy...now she has these huge bright green eyes!!! She is white with gunmetal gray spots on her kinda like a herford cow...she is very skittish and we left her claws for that reason so she'd feel she had some protection. She is a tiny little thing. If I hold her and snuggle her close she is ok with me holding her but when it comes time to let her go I better watch out for those claws!!

| Your Four Legged Kids Pet Names! Posted: 7/27/2007 2:57:30 PM | We have 4 cats and 1 puppy. All of mine are rescues as well. The cats came from my previous office. My boss started feeding the animals from the neighborhood behind our office complex. Needless to say, we got lots of strays too.
Precious - she was the first of the strays. We named her at the office. She's white and black, and is a sweetie pie. She's more like a dog than a cat, as she will come when she's called. She will drive you crazy rubbing on you. She loves to be loved.
Jordan - second of the strays. My youngest son named her. At the time, his 2nd grade girlfriend's name was Jordan, so that's how she got her name. She has long hair, and is a grayish, tanish color with a little bit of white on her feet. She mostly stays outside. I don't think she'll be with us much longer. She has lost alot of weight and looks pitiful. She is a sweetheart too though.
Angelica - third of the strays. This one and the next one are sisters. We brought their momma in our office while she was pregnant. She delivered 9 kitties under our sofa. When they got old enough to give away, I knew I wanted one of them. Angelica was one of the prettiest ones and could defend herself well. I knew she was coming home to two more cats, so she had to be able to do that. She looks like a Siamese and has icy blue eyes. After we brought her home, she became a hellyun, and a holy terror. My youngest son watched the Rugrats at the time, and we thought the character Angelica fit her quite nicely. Thus, the name.
Sabrina - fourth of the strays and Angelica's sister. Sabrina was the last of the kitties left at the office. She was very mean to everyone and would swat them, except me and my boss. Sabrina would come in my office and sit on my monitor. My boss couldn't take her, so of course I had to. She is very fiesty like her sister. Once she's had enough petting, she'll reach around and smack you or bite you. Drives me nuts!
And last but not least, the puppy.
His name is Jake. I call him Bubba Jake, or Jakey Jake. I don't know why, it just stuck. We aren't sure what he is, but I found him too. Last November at the job I have now, I kept hearing barking outside. I finally walked out and there were 2 guys by a truck. I walked over and noticed they were trying to get this puppy out from under it. The guy said someone had left the puppy in a box in the back of his pickup truck. He couldn't take it home because he already had big dogs. Being the sucker I am, I took him home. He's 42 lb. (and thinks he's about 4 lb.), black with brindle colored paws and chest. He resembles a rottweiler in the face because of his markings. But he has more of a pit bull face. He loves to lay on me in the bed, or sit in my lap. He's a sweet dog, but the cats don't think so. He terrorizes the two that are de-clawed because they can't defend themselves. But he gets terrorized by the other two that have claws (the sisters).
It is very entertaining at our house. Jake gets in crazy moods and runs circles in the house and chases the cats. They they turn around and chase him back.

| Your Four Legged Kids Pet Names! Posted: 7/27/2007 3:55:04 PM | I have 2 girls left: Gabriella Mia (Gabbi) is a German Shep. She's 7 and she's the last German I'm getting (I think) I've always had Germans.
Magaret Maxine (Maggie, Mags, Magzilla) is a white American Bull. I got her after my mother died. That's what the Maxine is (my mother's name--also My daughter's middle name) Maggie is our term of affection, Mags is when we are in a hurry--and Magzilla is when she is being her normal handful of a self.
During my last marriage I had: Ivan, Dalton, Ian, John Brodey, Joanie, Jean, Gabriella,---notice the trend? They are all versions of John---my husband's (at the time name)

| Your Four Legged Kids Pet Names! Posted: 7/27/2007 3:58:27 PM | I've got 2 dawgs - Molly(-Monster), my 10 1/2 year old English Springer Spaniel, and Dixie(-Bell), breed/age unknown. I got Molly when a family up in N.C. just couldn't handle her anymore - she was SO hyper that their 2 daughters couldn't even go out in the yard with her - she'd knock them down and lick all over them (they were 3 and 5 yrs old). In fact, after taking her in, it was about 7 months before I EVER saw Molly lie down! If I was awake, she was UP!!! And all over me!! In the beginning, we also had some control issues - she thought SHE should be the leader of this pack, and of course, I thought otherwise. We eventually settled on a compromise... Dixie got abandoned up near some vacation cabins in the mountains of N.C. When the family got divorced, they both just left her there at the trailer to fend for herself...A co-worker of a high-school friend of mine asked for help in placing her - and since I had been thinking of getting Molly a sister or brother - I took her in. She's really a sweet dog, very loving, like Molly. Except that she beat up on Teag's dog Ginger, and tried to eat Teag's cat, Oliver. Don't know what to do about that situation yet...but I'm sure it'll work out somehow or another... Tony | |

| Your Four Legged Kids Pet Names! Posted: 7/28/2007 12:56:27 AM | My dogs were Australian kelpies ( livestock herding dogs) names were "JJ" and the first one was "happy." My cats are normally called "Kitty."
JJ made me very proud one day working cattle for the university, when he was rounding up cattle, he was almost a 1/4 mile away down in a valley and he was working a cow calf herd, one cow turned on him to protect her calf and JJ was doing everything he could to make her move. He was working her too close the cow felt threatened and he needed to give her some room. I yelled at the top of my lungs, "JJ lie down," and immediately he did. With the dog down, the cow turned away and joined the herd with her calf heading our way to the gate at the top of the hill where I was standing with a couple of very impressed onlookers. They always used 3 or 4 people on horses to round up the cows, all we had to do that day was tell JJ to "bring em in" and stand at the gate. I've always told people, "If you get a good down on a dog you're about 90% done training, the rest is easy." The rest of the commands, if they do wrong, you down them, and try again, eventually they do right and are allowed to continue what they want to do, which is work cattle, they learn that is what the command means real quick that way. I entered JJ in working trial once, took first place, somebody offered $2500 for JJ, I declined, unfortunately JJ died of cancer a year later. Happy was already old and lived a long normal life.
Thinga: I see you took the cowards way out, at least now we know, can't take the heat when your wrong.

| Your Four Legged Kids Pet Names! Posted: 7/28/2007 10:59:35 AM | The master and commander of my home is Smiegle... aka: Smiegle Beagle.... kitten with da furry bum... K... I'll admit that I speak baby talk to the cat, but it's only because she makes me...
I'd have a permanent houseful of pets if she would only let me... but she's kind of a loner cat, all 5 and a half pounds of her...
I do have some visitors...
Buster... aka: Buster Bear, the worlds most loveable cat, a great big orange tom... and he adores everyone and everything...
Sonny... aka: Sonny Bunny... he's a terrier mutt that becomes wild when you give him attention... and attention to him is breathing...
and last but not least...
Tazzy... aka: Tazzy Magoo... she's a bull terrier and has a cheshire cat grin when she gets her own way... and she also thinks she weighs more than the dozen or so pounds she does and will beat up any dog that even thinks of honing in on her territory...
Add to those the assorted more temporary visitors... and it's a veritable animal house here...

| Your Four Legged Kids Pet Names! Posted: 7/28/2007 3:34:07 PM | The four legged critters in my house are not my kids.....it's because of my kids that I'm stuck with the four legged critters, even though the kids are all gone now......
Buddy...the 8 year old, 17 pound cat is one half of a set....Mooch, his litter mate got hit by a car the second year we lived here. My oldest daughter always named the cats.
Bailey....the neurotic 5 year old, 7 pound toy rat terrier was given the last name of the boy who surprised my daughter (and me!) on her 16th birthday with a puppy. The idea was that the dog would go "home" to the boy when my daughter and he were no longer dating. Unfortunately, by then, the daughter was still in love with the dog anyways. With any luck, her new landlord will let me pay an extra security deposit so that Bailey and her owner can be reunited this school year and I'll be off the hook for a while.

| Your Four Legged Kids Pet Names! Posted: 7/28/2007 10:45:01 PM | Interesting thread!! I've enjoyed reading about everyone's pets!
First I have to tell about our cat that had to be put to sleep a few years ago. My son wanted a cat when he was about 5 or 6, so a friend offered for us to take a "stray" from the many at her house. When we visited to pick out a cat, one kinda-ugly cat kept rubbing on our legs, but we chose a "pretty" cat.....that turned out to be so wild we couldn't touch it after we got home! Sooooooo we took it back and traded it for the friendly-but-ugly one. Actually she wasn't ugly, but a little spooky is more like it. We couldn't come up with a name but kept calling it Kitty or Cat or KittyCat........ and finally settled on KitKat because that was a fairly new candy bar at the time. She was wonderful.....would let him do anything to her, including sticking her in a little basket and carrying her up to his top bunk, where she'd stay cooped up in that too-tiny basket all night long! Over the years she ended up being MY cat....you know how that goes! It has been over 5 years now and I still miss KitKat!
A few years after we got KitKat, we got Sissy, a white and gold Pekingese. When she was young, we called her a PIG-a-nese because she always begged for our people food! At first, KitKat wasn't very happy to have another animal in our home, but they ended up being best friends. And it was very obvious that Sissy grieved after KitKat was gone.
Almost 2 years ago, our other furry kid came along. My son wanted a Pit Bull and I vehemently disapproved, but he got her anyway. Daisy was named by my son's girlfriend. She's a really beautiful golden Red-nosed Pit......all muscle with jaws as strong as an ox! But she's the sweetest, gentlest, most loving furry kid ever! (In fact, just now, she came over, put her paws in my lap, and gave me a few wet kisses!)
NOW, Sissy and Daisy are best friends!! Since Daisy was so small when she first came, Sissy established herself as the boss and still is to this day! They run, chase, play and romp, but amazingly Sissy comes out on top of the pile almost every time!! After a little rough-housing (if it's too rough, Sissy snarls and snaps causing Daisy to mellow out completely) they lie down together and exchange licks and kisses. It's really a sight to watch them because a Pit is notoriously "bad" and a Peke is so dainty!
Ohhhhhhhh I almost forgot...... my son also has a blue parakeet named Fred. The cage is low to the floor, so the dogs love to peer through the cage wires and taunt the poor guy! Actually, Daisy (the pit) puts her nose up to the cage and becomes mesmerized! It is the funniest thing to see! Fred walks back and forth across her tree branch and Daisy's eyes follow her the whole way. She will lie there for the longest time, even ignoring her name being called. I would LOVE to know what's going through her mind as she watches that bird!
That's it...........all the critters in my house! (Actually Daisy has a pen outside, but she really thinks she should be inside.......and she sleeps inside 99% of the time. And of course she can't stay outside when it's raining, storming, too cold or too hot!! LOL)

| Your Four Legged Kids Pet Names! Posted: 7/29/2007 5:54:43 AM | I had a toy miniature dachsund named Rudger Snicklefritz. He weighed 8 pounds; the Rotty across the street was scared of him and the pit bull upstairs was his best friend. When Mister's (The pit bull) owner would come home to walk him, he would run straight to our door to see if we were home so Rudger could come out to play. He'd let Rudger pin him every time. My brother's two LARGE dogs, Kyrie Acres (chow/shepherd mix) and Maulie (pitbull/something else huge mix) were terrified of him and would crawl under the bed when he came to visit. Rudger's legs were at best, one inch long and when he ran across the floor, he sounded like a herd of elephants. His big job was to get my son up for school in the mornings and he would wiggle down under the covers and nip his toes and lick his armpits.
He had a brain tumor and had a GranMal seizure back in March of 2005. I've not had the heart to replace him. Not to mention my landlord wants a huge pet deposit.
So thursday, I bought a fish. An electric blue crow-tail beta with a little carrier aquarium and stuff. he's going to school and his name is Ludwig.
My sister has 3 fur babies: A large 20+ pound male named Onyx and 2, three month old tortie calico sisters named Precious and Pixie. I have pictures of them - I should post them in my photo bucket... I think I have a picture of Mr Bad Attitude there. The new babies pester him muchly...

| Your Four Legged Kids Pet Names! Posted: 7/29/2007 10:48:42 PM | Hummm .... cool thread! All of my children have 4 legs and fur! Lets see now, whos first! Theres Bonnie (bob bon) and Scooter (roo roo), they are both 9 yo Jack Russel Terriers ... aka spoiled rotten terrorists! Then there is Bobby, a Border collie (?) orphan that found me last fall. He was skin and bones and fur held together with worms ... that was then, now is 58 lbs and is nicknamed the moose mutt!
Then theres Chrissy, a pygmy goat. She half of a pair "goatie girls" that I adopted from an older couple that could no longer take care of them. The other one, Julia, passed away this spring.
Then theres "Dude" aka the Dudester or the Duke of Creampuff ... my 18 yo Quarter horse gelding. He thinks hes a movie star! And Jimminey Cricket aka Jim Jim, an aged Hackney pony gelding, and "Pretty Girl", and 8 yo Hackney pony mare. And the newest equine is Sharkey, an 8 yo Standardbred ex- race horse that I adopted. All the horse and ponies are trained to pull buggies.
The newest editions to the zoo are Toby and Sweetie, two feral cats that a friend of mine caught at work and took to be fixed. They have become pretty friendly, and are currently living in a big cage in my barn until they are imprinted to the barn being home! Soon they will be turned loose to begin their jobs as ratters!
So, in summary, thats three dogs, two horses, two ponies, two cats and a pygmy goat! yep, its a zoo! Oh, and I almost forgot ... three goldfishies!

| Your Four Legged Kids Pet Names! Posted: 7/4/2008 11:13:26 AM | My newest kittens are Mauser, Panzer and Howitzer (Howie). Their elder sibs are: Rommel & Nepoleon & Trooper... & a few others who have fallen on the battlefront... The next litter will probably be Squirt, BB, Daisy and Cap... no, sounds too juvenile.
I used to have a cat named Novel because he had a long tail.
I grow so tired of the standard Grey, Blackie and Spot.

| Your Four Legged Kids Pet Names! Posted: 7/20/2008 6:49:47 PM | Well...I have a ton of pets...Several of 'em don't have legs, so I'll leave those off. :D
As for the ones that do...There's two cats, Punk and Shredder. Shredder because, well...He liked to claw when he was a baby, and Punk because...she's a bit of a pain sometimes.
I also have three dogs...Champ is a Jack Russell Terrier that I got from a family that couldn't take care of him anymore. Marius is a German Shepherd mix and is named after a character from an Anne Rice book and...The newest addition, seen on my profile, is Asher, a Siberian Husky. :D
Gotta love it... | |
