For all the professionals or home cooks. Some time ago in many butcher shops especially up in Ottawa, you could find a spice blend from the Swiss called Streu Mi. Very difficult to find now, especially since Knorr bought the recipe and ingredient list. I ve seen it a few Swiss Herbal sites but they wouldnt ship it to Canada.

A) Have any of you ever heard of it or tried it?

B) Any hints on where it could be obtained now? It was a wonderful spice mix for chicken and pork and unlike anything I ve tasted before.

First post of any real matter for me, so I hope I didn't mess up lol Thanks everyone

I'm swiss, so yes I've tried it :-)
I found this page: aromix.ch, it only says that they charge you the effective shipping cost if you order from outside Switzerland. So it sounds like they would ship to Canada.

You might also want to try this one:

I think it's similar to the Streu-Mi and I've actually seen that here in the USA at Meijer's. Maybe you can get that locally in Canada as well.

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, just wanted to add that in case someone cares....

I dont' think you should be sorry for resurrecting an old thread. It's useful info and it's so blasted difficult to find anything in these forums anyway. It's all good.
