| Change of country takes no effect on 'my city'
Posted: 7/29/2007 1:38:56 AM | I've moved from the UK to Sydney Australia and I have changed both my country and city in my profile, but the 'My city' link still brings up London and all the profiles that show up as local are London profiles. Nothing seems to change this.
I could delete my profile and start again, but I'd rather not? I tried writing to Plentyoffish a couple of times, but no reply.
My profile is pretty useless now.

"People matching your search criteria in the city of Sydney ",
But they aren't... they are all London. There is some legacy link from when I set up my profile to 'London' and I can't change it.
I don't suppose you could check if I come up on a search of 'Sydney'?

Updating postal and zip Codes sometimes doesn't work in certain Places.
If its very important to you, you may want to delete this Profile and create another one.

The search should go by linear within other states as well. I'm very close to California, so if there is not enough to fill in the search from Reno, it should show Sacramento next. Then is farther then sac, it should show the bay area (SF, San Jose, etc) instead of showing Vegas and Henderson Nevada. Sacramento is a 4 hour drive, and the bay area is a 6 hour drive. Much closer then Vegas. Thanks! | |

I just posted a request for an option (which appear unavailable) to select My Matches by country and maybe city (then add radius). That way, one can go outside of one's locality without having to do manual searches. | |

Posted: 5/1/2009 1:19:48 AM | | I have reset my post code and city. when search it says it is searching in my city but shows me profiles from 1000s of km away (and miles, but that isnt POF's problem and we CAN think both ways, my goodness, who cares!). What does bother me is that my profile is still showing up when someone else does a search of or is shown matches in my old city! | |

I have reset my post code and city.
If you've reset the city and postcode, it must be a cookies problem?
Delete your temporary internet files and cookies, reboot your computer, log back in and try a search then.
A link to comprehensive instructions on how to delete your cookies etc is given in the first sentence of message #3 ^^^ in this thread. | |

Hopefully someone can help me with my problem.
Whenever I log into POF, the photos of the men on the home screen of those of men in a different city from my own within the same state. I have place my current zip code in all areas to do a search, and I have the correct zip code in my profile.
My question is after logging in on POF how to do see men that are online or have been online from a more local area.

Follow the directions in POST #2 of this thread.
Then, under the SEARCH link, Try clicking on your My City link
If still no luck, perhaps vary your zip code to a more established one in close to your area if your zip code is relatively new. Sometimes the zip code database here isn't updated as quick with brand new zips as they come on board.

| 1. | Do an and close Browser. |
| 4. | Make sure the City is entered in the "City" Field correctly.
Do not "Copy & Paste", but type it in manually. |
| 5. | Make sure all Spelling is 100% correct. |
| 6. | Re-enter (Do not "Copy & Paste", but type it in manually) the Australia Postal Code, even though it may already show as correct and then save the Changes at the bottom of your Edit Profile Page !!! |

I believe what you're experiencing is the same as these other people in this already in progress thread:
See this thread ADMIN: city is not appearing in profiles, and add your voice to it.
