| Can You Spot a Fake Blonde?
Posted: 7/29/2007 4:12:16 PM | There is something I've been curious about for a while now, and a comment made in an unrelated thread compelled me to ask this question. I tried Ask.com, but I didn't really get a straight answer.
Obviously, I am not a blonde, but most members of my family are, and we all have very dark brows and lashes.
When we see a blonde with dark roots, we automatically think, "Now, that's a bleach job."
I've heard many times that natural blondes do not have dark brows and lashes. I agree that this is normally the case, but I have living proof that there are exceptions to the rule.
I'm curious. Are you an exception? Do you know an exception?

I know in todays society it really doesn't matter everything is about something else anyway. be dark, but have 'grayed' into a very blonde-looking colour). And some people with brown hair,
get much lighter in the summer, which will often result in darker brows & "dark roots"!
But as HarleyKat said, "Who really cares?!" A lot of people of both genders colour their hair, whether
it's to eliminate gray or just to make themselves look/feel better. As far as I am concerned, it's all good!

Usually the eyebrow colour can give it away. Not always though.

When coloring brows...they usually go one slight shade darker...but for someone with platinum blonde hair, that would make them look invisible!
One way to tell...usually...is by their summer look...natural blondes brows tend to lighten naturally with the sun! | |

Natural blonde here who resembles this remark. lol! Quite common.
When coloring brows...they usually go one slight shade darker...but for someone with platinum blonde hair, that would make them look invisible!
So very true.
A bleached blonde is quite easy to spot for it is usually only one dimensional color where natural blonde has varying shades. Quite often, it does not go with skin tone (harsh contrasts) and even more often, it is in bad condition. My advice to them is that conditioner is your friend, use it.
The other extreme is older women who had black hair at 20 and still do over 45. The rule of thumb is to go lighter as you get older, more flattering to skin. | |

I was curious about the number of people who feel that a natural blonde cannot have dark brows and lashes. I know that it is possible, but I'm gathering that it must be extremely rare.

Posted: 7/30/2007 6:06:34 PM | Its very possible. I was born platinum blond and have always had dark brows and lashes. By mid teens I was a golden blond and by the time I was 20 I was an ash blond. My brows were always the same dark color and each year my hair would get a darker shade of blond till I was about 25 and it resembled a dull mousy shade. I broke out the dye and went back to a nice golden shade of blond. I was more comfortable as a blond. I never ever dyed the brows to match because no matter what color blond I was, the brows were always dark. My skin is so white if the brows were lighter they would have faded into my skin.
A few months ago I let it grow out to see what shade it is now. After letting it grow out about three inches, it was this horrible dull greyish color about the same shade as a texas field mouse. Ms. Clairol is again my best friend and I'm sure I'll be blonde till I can grow it out to a lovely white grey when I'm about 80. | |

Okay I know the best way to find out but it's a little hard especially that you are a female

Now my hair is mouse brown only problem is my brows and eyelashes are very pale blonde so I started highlighting my hair a couple of months ago.
