| | What's the best bit of advice you had ever received?Page 1 of 4 (1, 2, 3, 4) | | Do you have a saying or something that someone told you that has stayed with you all of your life? We all get bits of advice from all areas, but there is always one that sticks out. Mine was given to me by a woman who was my boss many years ago....."You don't know what you can do until you have to". | |

Change your thoughts change your world....
Love yourself its the only guarantee there is.....
The only courage you need is the courage to live the life of your dreams....
Forgiveness? Letting go of the hope the past could have been different...

He meant "working" as in a job, but I see it as working at EVERYTHING. Job, yourself, for family, friends, LIFE.

| What's the best bit of advice you had ever received? Posted: 8/5/2007 9:06:50 AM | The following was written by the playwright, William Saroyan:
"In the time of your lifeā¦live. Seek goodness everywhere and when it is found, bring it out of its hiding place and let it be free and unashamed. Discover in all things that which shines and is beyond corruption. Be the inferior of no man, or of any men be superior, remember that every man is a variation of yourself. In the time of your life, live so that in that wondrous time you shall not add to the misery and sorrow of the world, but shall smile to the infinite delight and mystery of it."
When I am an off day, I like to read these words and always feel better after doing so.

College teaches how to make a living.
Anything beyond that (Masters or PhD) will teach you how to be successful.
Now, go and DO what you have learned. It's not enough to merely know things.

Posted: 8/7/2007 10:58:25 PM | My mom once said to not worry about what other people are thinking about you, because you'll probably find out later they weren't even thinking about you~ then, my dad added to that, the Army man coming out in him: you'll find out later that they weren't even thinking, period.
I have swell folks! | |
