| Aliens: Fact or Fiction?
Posted: 8/4/2007 7:28:33 AM | Are aliens real? If so, are they here to destroy our world and take everything away from us? Or are they peaceful creatures with a hope of saving us from ourselves when we learn not to fear them? Do you believe in abductions? Do you believe in the crop circles and pyramids giving us a sign? Are they some form of human?
These are questions people have been trying to answer since the UFO crash in Mexico. But are they true?
Most people don't believe in UFOs, they are more for religion based therories. I for one believe anything can happen. Why can't they be real? Do you actually think we are the only specs of life in all the universes? I don't think so, be kinda weird wouldn't it?
Do you think they have come to destroy us? If they are, why haven't they done so yet? Or are they taking over our minds to rage war on each other? If they have come to destroy us, it's really taking a long time to do so. If they mastered light travel, why wouldn't they be able to destroy us within a few seconds? I think they are here to learn about us and our feelings. They might not know why mothers are closely attached to their children: from the movie "The Forgotten". They might be curious as to why we want to kill each other instead of working with each other.
Are abductions true? I am sceptical about this question. But if its true, I don't think they do it to hurt us. How else are they suppose to study us? We fear them so much that they might worry we will kill them. I think they are as afraid as we are to them. Why else are they cowering from us. I know if I were them I would too.
Are the crop circles and the pyramids are signs from them? What do they mean? If we looked closer and studied really hard on them, I think the answer would mean peace, if not they are telling us what will happen if we continue to hurt our planet. For the pyramids, I fully don't believe humans dragged all those gigantic heavy blocks to build the m. I don't think people back then knew how to, I think they were either taught how or were getting help from "someone".
I pose the question: "Are they something like human beings?"
Maybe. Who really knows? I know for a fact that there are others out there watching over us, keeping us safe from ourselves, and we are just tiny nieve specs that need to learn to get along. If not when the time comes when we are endangered species ourselves, we will see true "power" that we never believed existed.

I agree. I think the odds are there is life, including intelligent life scattered throughout the universe. But the distances are so enormous, and the Earth is comparatively so small that the chances of any of them capable of traveling those distances being able to find us aren't that great. But then again, it's not impossible so who knows :) | |

Aliens are invisible to us, but we are visible to them. They do not come from distant planets but from dimensions of which we are unaware. UFO aliens are fiction. Supernatural aliens are real, but beyond our detection. We can infer their existence by telltale traits, such as their penchant for stuffing car keys in couch cushions.

before the *new world* as in the americas were discovered, europe/asia thought that was it. they also thought that the earth was flat and that the sun revolved around earth. How wrong were they?
Now take for instance, we in a solar system of 9, some say 10 planets. A solar system of millions, within a galaxy, a galaxy of a possible million others that make up what we know of the universe. So we are just one planet of billions within this never ending universe, always expanding and growing. So are we to think we are the only living planet of billions? And maybe those said planets have beings that are more advanced than us, and have developed interplanetary travel? I say yes, saying no just ignorant. | |

Posted: 8/9/2007 9:00:06 PM | Seems kinda silly to me to think that we are the only intelligent life in the countless numbers of 'dots' I see in the sky at night. But to think that any of them might have made the trip to this little 'dot' seems kinda impossible, to me -- maybe once in the history of earth (but only as a quick 'fly-by'). I can't see how anyone with the technology to make the trip would find this planet particularly interesting -- let's face it, we're a bit behind in our inter-stellar travel knowledge and alien communication abilities. As to the rest of it: abductions, crop circles, alien sightings and landings, alien links to the pyramids ... well, I think it's just a few earth folks trying creative ways to get attention. And no, I can't prove what I say ... just my opinion.

Posted: 8/10/2007 6:42:15 AM | You guys have to remember the time scale thats involved here. The earth has been around for 6 billion years, How long has intelligent life lived on this planet, and we face the very real possibility of exctinction right now.
For two intelligent races to encounter each other, not only would they have to evolve intelligence and not wipe themselves out within the same time period, they'd have to be extremely close in spatial terms to ever find each other.
Alien life? Probably! Alien intelligent life somewhere right now? Mmmmm maybe. Intelligent life visiting us on earth?

I consider the concept of aliens an interesting concept, but until I see evidence either way their existence or non existence is irrelevent.

Not quite. It is believed that life COULD exist on Europa. Also Mars and Titan, though Europa tops the list. For a scientist to believe that something exists, he would have to have evidence that it does, not evidence that it's possible. | |

Agreed... however if you can get your hands on the David Sereda documentary, there are some very interesting points he brings up regarding some energy formations that move in "intelligent" patterns on wavelengths of light not normally visible to the human eye. The video footage he bases it off of comes from the NASA archives, so it isn't doctored.
Basically he says/kind of proves that we need to explore more esoteric things to detect those that might be watching us. just peering into the stars and listening to electric static is a very tiny portion of the stimulus of the universe. | |

We could have over looked this planet because we could not see it's location. Where would this location be you ask. Strait accross form us on the other side of the sun. Posted: 8/14/2007 8:59:26 AM | Can you be proven wrong? Technically, no, but the idea can be safely discarded. Your hypothesis has been around for what, a couple centuries now? Well over 100 exoplanets have been discovered first by detection techniques which do not rely on direct observation [although some have since been directly observed].
Knowing the mutual effects of gravity, the wobble of a star can be measured to determine the size, distance, and number of planets orbiting it. The composition of the atmospheres as well as the global temperatures can also be determined by the changes in the observed light as the planet eclipses its sun [the atmospheric components filter the light]. The latter technique obviously doesn't apply to a solar planet in a fixed opposing orbit, but the influence of its gravity on the Sun and other planets would be easily measureable. Add to that the number of satellites which have circled the Sun separately from Earth, with no record of another planet. Given the age of the hypothesis, it's likely that a number of astronomers have checked. I think the idea has pretty much been put to rest. | |

Posted: 8/14/2007 11:28:16 AM | Fact- completely pompus for us to think we are the only intelligent life in existence..& we're not all that intelligent..we barely use 10% of our brains...& we have accomplished alot...but imagine what a being that used 100% would be able to do...maybe travel through the white holes...which would make galaxy jumping seem not so far-fetched...
& speaking of the pyramids...ever seen the the face & pyramids on Mars?..or maybe the aliens are really just us, from the future...having finally figured out time travel...

of incidents that are too compelling and disturbing to dismiss or ignore.
I think that the reason they havent landed and taken over is because we are not helpless. Far from it. We are an extremely violent bunch, and heavily armed.
Look at Iraq. They might have interstellar travel but reports of their appearance
are less than impressive. They are usually described as being very small , or thin, or
weak looking. | |
