| Any single RV rs here? Posted: 8/7/2007 9:09:11 PM | Hi grizz,
I hope you get some responses because I am a single RV person also. Or at least I plan to be. I bought a 5th wheel and a truck and I am almost ready to go. Haven't done my maiden voyage as yet. I had a small camper for years while I still was working and only went for up to 4 days at a time. I am hoping to increase that to a couple of months at a time. I live in California and love the coast. Hope to explore the whole USA in the comming years.

| Any single RV rs here? Posted: 8/10/2007 8:00:31 PM | Hi Yeppurs, I lived in my 36' tongue pull for a year. It had all the amenities of a very small condo. But plenty of room actually for one person. I am seriously thinking about running away from home, buying an RV, and see if the property tax man can find me. I checked way back then... RV year was 1994/5....and found that there are a lot of National Park kind of places to park FREE for 3 days at a time. That's about how much time it takes me to get to know a small town, and know if I care to stay longer. Retirement will not come soon enough. | |

| Any single RV rs here? Posted: 10/4/2007 9:14:52 PM | Hi jacci44,
RVs are kind of expensive to rent, so shop around at several renters if you decide to. Some have off-season discounts.
2 good forums to check out are RV.net's forum and IRV2.com
another sight for info is Hitchitch.com's travelogue section

| Any single RV rs here? Posted: 10/15/2007 11:00:33 AM | | Hi Grizz, Don't know if you would call me an R.Vr yet but last summer I drove my regular van packed with a bed and camping equipment from Northern Ontario to the Yukon and Alaska( 5 weeks and over 12000 km.).Being a senior and alone was no problem. Many great camp sites along the way and friendly people. Plan on selling the house and getting a small R.V and hitting the road. Happy trails. | |

| Any single RV rs here? Posted: 10/31/2007 12:36:38 PM | I think that if anyone really wants to do it to buy what you can afford to buy and and get yourself a national state park may and an RV travel guide. they are extremely valuble as they have service places along with places to camp. they show you places to dump waste, get fresh water, fuel and places to shop, most show grocery stores to. and if you but things lots of conveient stores will let you stayy over nite if you park out of the way and don't block anything.
If you write to state agencies they will send you all kinds of info free.
now i do stay overnite at malls also but i kinda don't care for truck stops.
the easiest way to find a travel companion is to find single teachers and talk to them and become friends because many of them have all summer to travel and they love the experiences because they can share with students.

| Any single RV rs here? Posted: 12/5/2007 8:32:26 PM | Oh, the stories I could tell . . . !!
I lived in my RV for 6 years and, contrary to what has been written here, never met another single female RVer in all that time.
In 1999, I bought a '79 Dodge Swinger with the logic that "a woman my age needs a 20-year-old swinger"!!
My experience with mechanics was that they fixed me enough to get me out of town and then I broke down again with the same problem!! ME: THEM:
But it was something I had always wanted to do and, truly, how many of us act on those dreams?
Wouldn't trade the experience for the world!!

| Any single RV rs here? Posted: 12/6/2007 7:17:07 PM | G'day Grizz, I probably don't fit into your plans of a get together, coz i'm here in Australia. But i'm in the process of planning a lifetime dream of travelling around Aussie in a RV. I have just retired back in October, & I'm renovating my home in preperation of selling it. Have checked out a few possible purchase options regarding RV's, but will wait till the house sells then decide which way to go. My kids & grandkids are behind me 100% in my dream. The grandkids asked me if i'm going to write some typ of statement on the RV, i told them i'd put the letters S.K.I.N. on the back, spending -kids- inheritence- now. So to all the RVer's out there Happy travels | |
