| Help me on my UNITED STATES KARAOKE QUEST! :help:
Posted: 8/5/2007 3:38:38 PM | Like so many of you, I've always liked to sing - with the car radio, in the shower, in the kitchen... any place where there's NOBODY LISTENING!  But there are some of us who actually find it fun to sing in public - aren't we all "closet American Idols? "- even if the talent doesn't quite match the desire. 
So while I may have sounded pretty good 'to me', I would only sing karaoke on the cruises I went on - 'cause "none of these people will ever see you again"! That made it relatively 'safe'. But about a year ago, I went to a bar that had a karaoke night, and then it happened: I lost my 'karaoke virginity"!  .
Well, the rest, as they say, is history. I now go out to sing 3-5 times a week, I bought my own small karaoke system, sing or practice every day, and still can't get enough! Soo... I've since decided on a rather passionate personal QUEST: to travel all over the United States & sing at least one time in EVERY STATE (there's 50, at last count!) in the country! 
My QUEST begins the week of August 13th. I'll be driving from South Florida, north to E. Lansing, Michigan, for my son's wedding. I'll be driving mostly along the I-75 corridor, and stopping for at least 3 nights along the way. I'll be looking for karaoke venues in Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky & Ohio. My return will be along a more easterly route, trying to find karaoke spots in the states of West (By God) Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina & South Carolina. Another 3 nights on the road, and timing will be on the fly as to where I'll be and when. My determined goal is to sing in each of those 8 states. Future trips will soon follow. 
I'm not sure how to find the places I need to get to, so if anyone would be willing to pass on any & all information about some karaoke places in those local areas along my trip route, I will be so VERY GRATEFUL!! 
This little (?) QUEST of mine, while personal for now, may turn into something much more. Because, while I haven't yet negotiated the book or movie rights, any help you can offer will be recognized & rewarded! If nothing else, you will have my lifelong gratitude.. and maybe we'll find some wonderful friendships along the way!
