Yes, tramp stamps. I'm not a slutty kind of girl in the least bit, but my lower back is one of the places that I'm considering getting a tattoo sometime in the near future. It would be nice to get a few opinions from some of the men out there.

i like tats on women, i think they can be very sexy. but i am sorry, i am not really a fan of the lower back tat. i find it to be a trendy thing that people are doing to fit in with their friends.

i am not saying that this is your situation, i am just saying that when i see a women with a tat there, i snicker and just figure she is a trend follower instead of being her own person.

To me few things, if any, are as attractive as the female form. It is art at it's finest.

Just as a pine tree in it's natural environment, is more beautiful, then any others with their fancy Christmas ornaments; so is a nude female form, already made perfect by nature itself. Anything that man attempts to add to it, only diminishes it.

Just my humble, old fart, oppinion.

Yeah it's fine...
I consider it kind of unoriginal...like the dudes who get the razor wire around their ripped bicep.

Yeah, it's definitely going to be something small. I'm honestly not the tattoo type, but I decided that I really want to get one in remembrance of a friend who died pretty recently. I'm debating between getting one on my lower back or somewhere near my shoulder blades.

I get the feeling your getting the tattoo for the wrong reason. Remembering your friend is great, but if your not a tattoo person then you really shouldn't got that route. There are plenty of ways to remember lost loved ones without marking your body.

i will tell you this... the shoulder blade area is FAR less painful. anytime they do a tat on an area that has very little meat and the bone is close to the surface, expect a lot of pain.

i also agree, this may not be the best way to remember your friend, give it a year and if you still feel the same, get it then. could be that your emotions are making you do something you really dont want to. remember, it is FOREVER.

No disrespect intended, but how is having something on your body, which you will almost never see (since it's on your back-upper or lower) be something of a rememberance?

While you have your memories, you will always have a part of your friend with you; and if you should lose your memories, then you will not remember what the marks on your body are anyway.

Just a thought.

It's more the fact that we both swore we would get matching tattoos before leaving for college. It's something we were talking about since we were little. I know it's not something that I'm ever going to regret or want to get removed.

Couldn't have said it more truthfully myself.

It's a bad idea. If you always wanted a tattoo and didn't know what to get and NOW had this reason, that is different....but it's not the case. It's a silly reason.

This is true. I would recommend someplace YOU can see it, if at all.
If I can get really crude for a moment....lets say a guy is doing you from behind. And he gets to ponder over the memorial above your butt. Kinda strange.

Love lower back tattoos! In fact, my last two long term relationships the women I was with both got lower back tattoos while we were together. I just like tattoos in general so long as they are not too trashy looking (I have ten but most that know me in the professional world have no idea I have any).

My thoughts are this, since you 2 decided long ago to get it done, do it. reguardless of what others say. A little over a year ago I got a tattoo on my upper right shoulder. It just seemed like the place to get it done. What I got was a pic that I was given a couple years before by someone that I had befriended on the net, she was in an abusive relationship, I was there for support. She called it Angels Protector. She felt it suted me. A few of my other friends told me yes that it suited me perfectly. SO I had it done. I was talking with a lady online at the time and she freaked cause it WASN'T her art. No matter what, some will like it, some won't. I don't regret getting it, I most certainly won't get it removed. If you feel it's your way of rememberance, Go for it. You are the only one that has to live with it. If a guy doesn't like looking at it while he's doing you from the back, turn the light out or turn back over.

I'd go for the upper shoulder, close to bone places hurt like hell.

I find tattoos on women very attractive. Ok... has to be a attractive woman also, not some huge overweight woman with ink all over thinking she is hot. In your case, you have no worries, you look good from the pics as far as I can tell. Can't really see your body but you look good. The lower back tat is sexy, just make sure you get something your truly happy with. Take plenty of time to find a quality artist.

As for people that say you will regret it years down the road, here is some food for thought. I wanted to get a tattoo when I was 17 years old, family told me no way don't do it you will regret it. I listened to family and never got what I thought I wanted at 17 years old. Here I am 35 as I type this and I still want the same tattoo, just have yet to actually get it done because I'm very specific in what I want. Bottom line, I don't think the years going by makes a difference, as long as you care for the tattoo and don't drown it in the sunshine so it fades out, then go for it.

Actually, I decided that I was going to get one with him when I turned 18 a few months before he died. It's been over a year since then and I've always intended to get one, only now I've decided to get a different design. This isn't some spur of the moment decision based entirely on grief. I appreciate everyone's opinions and honesty here, but I really didn't post this to have my motive for getting the tattoo evaluated.

My cousin always said, "Tattoos are just another mark for the law" and by that he meant it's another way that government can identify you.

Personally I'm not one for tattoos & piercings. I'd rather have a gal with the piercings though instead of the tattoos. Yeah tats are art but lower back art or tribal art is boring. Guys with their arm band tribal art - bah. Boring. Do something different.

If you want to be different, then do something unique like put an angel with wings on it back there or something that's not mere tribal art.

If you're going to march to the beat of your own drum, then come up with your own rhythm.

I dont think it is horrible at all to get it there. I know alot of girls have them there but sometimes that is a womens first tattoo because it doesnt hurt that much. I know I got one there as my first tattoo and it is small and something i drew so it means something to me. I dont go around prorading it around like a tramp stamp or w.e. I also have a big one in t he middle of my back with song lyrics and a lilly and i drew it. I think it is great art and it means something to me. I have seen woemn with tattoos on there face and if it is well done and means something to them they rock it and make it what it is and lookk great.
Like kat off miami ink is drop dead gorgouse and she has soem all over her body face neck and lower back. she works it out thou cuz she is stunning to look at.
