I was sitting at the computer last night and heard a spewing sound. Sounded like a broken water pipe to me. I went into the dining room where it seemed to be coming from. It sounded like it was coming from right inside the dining room wall....BUT...there are no water pipes in that wall...I built my house myself, even the wiring and plumbing...so I was a little confused at how I could be hearing this spewing noise coming from inside this wall. WELL...then I noticed the big watermelon that had been given to me sitting in the floor there in the dining room. It was obviously rotten and was fermenting. I saw a crack in the end of the watermelon and heard the spewing coming from the crack! That's when I noticed all the fermented watermelon juice that had spewed all over my tile floor in the dining room. Smelled like rotten wine . Needless to say...I had quite a mess to clean up! But the funny thing is, I heard this thing spewing from the other room!

You know this sounds like a story that happens when your high- who would believe it unless you were there stoned witnessing it too- That was one loud watermelon. curlygrl~

Interesting. I think that is why, prisons now, pay attention how prisoners can make juice (booze). Can make booze out of many things. I know spy hill (local provincial prison), is pretty slack. But thats short time. Drum (Drumheller) prison (fed, 2+), is probably way different. More controls, in place. Back in the day, prisoners would make up a batch, trade it off or drink it up and get hammered, start a riot, get some shanks going, and be locked down for awhile with your 3 squares and a cot. The question I have, is how did you not realize you had a rotten watermelon laying around, for probably weeks.

And we didn't notice the thing was dying prior to the explosion? We had a client call in saying they would be late because they had a watermelon in the car and it got too hot and exploded. They said it smelt HORRIBLE. I think it would be funny to see but the mess wouldn't be fun to clean up!

The question I have, is how did you not realize you had a rotten watermelon laying around, for probably weeks. And the answer is...it was given to me (two days before) by a friend who grows them. He had brought several and gave them to us at work. I warned everyone at work tonight to be careful when they go to cut theirs.
