To all the Women in POF land I'm wondering what your thoughts are on this.

Let's suppose money was no issue at all.

1. Would you ever get a breast enhancement done to your body? If so why?

2. Do you feel natural breasts look better then the fake ones? or fake look better then the real? If so why?

3. Last question. To any woman who had her breasts enhanced in any way, larger or reduced. Are you happy with the results? Or do you regret it? If so why?

Thank you for responces, just wondering how you all felt on this.

I had my breast enlarged and i am very happy with the results. after 2 kids my breast deflated and looked like 2 fried eggs hanging off a bobwire fence. anyways i think natural breast before kids and under 30 probally look and feel the best.

If I lost one or both due to cancer I would. I'm currently pretty happy with what genetics gave me and at 41 have no wish to tinker with that. We'll see how they're hangin' in 20 years. Even then I would not put implants in my body but might lift them if needed.

I've seen bad examples of both. Neither corners the market on things that make you quickly avert your eyes.

Don't really like the look of most fake breasts - in some cases it's necessary but I know a woman who just wanted them bigger and I think that's dorky

1. No, I don't want to go through the pain and seeing the scar and such.... blah....

2. Natural looks better than fake. Fake usually look like someone stuck those silicon on the body, and you can so tell that they're fake. So, natural for me please. :)

There's something for everyone. Some guys prefer a more athletic look. Some curvaceous. I'll take what I got naturally and be happy with it.

I actually had a friend who had those gel pack type implants and got a "flat". One sprung a leak. She later got cancer and died. To this day I wonder if it had something to do with the stuff that leaked into her body.

I'll stay natural and take what I got and take care of myself. Homegrown is always best.

All I can say is that after spending 4 months in the ICU after my liver transplant, I'd NEVER voluntarily go back to a hospital again. I'm fine with my boobs just the way they are and honestly, I don't need any more scars on this poor old body ...

I am what I am, and that's all that I am.

I've always had small breasts ... but always more than a mouthful. At my age, I am thrilled that they are not larger ... because they do not "hang" and I can still get by without wearing a bra ... and I breast fed 4 babies. Having babies is not what causes breasts to hang ... it's all in the genetics. Either they are going to hang, or they are not.

Some women can inadvertently cause their breast tissues to break down by sudden weight fluctuations and eventually they will lose their natural support if you did not inherit that tendency. Good genetics gave me a lifetime of 'natural support" and now I'm laughing at all those who laughed at me when I was much younger. Hehehehe ...

I don't really think breast enhancement should be a question unless we're talking about breast "replacement" related to deformities or disease. In that case I'd say it's something we should be glad they can offer us.

No matter what they tell us (that implants are safe), I still believe that it's not wise to put "toxic" substances in our bodies if it's not necessary.

As another poster put it ... "Homegrown is always best".

Nope, not ever here. I work in diagnostic imaging/mammography and I KNOW how much breast tissue is compromised on an exam with implants ( and those are the ones that aren't encapsulated, which is even worse ~ held rigidly in place by scar tissue which you have NO control over whether it will happen to you or not). NOT worth the risk to me to miss tissue when doing an exam exclude cancer. BTW...On the exam it makes no difference whether or not the implant is saline or silicon.
Why can't people just be happy with who they are and HOW they are built? NO ONE is perfect. Your health is all you have in life really,.... take the best possible care of yourself.

I'm happy with god gave me....I do understand mothers that have breast fed their children and feel like they need a lift. Girls that find their identity through their breasts is another story.

The only way I'll do it if I can have external valves installed where I can inflate and deflate depending on the clothes I'd be wearing or depending on my mood. Otherwise, I'll take the money and spend it elsewhere.

Same as a few posts above - if I had to have one or both removed due to cancer or disease, I would more than likely go for implants. I think I'd probably be the person who would constantly feel insecure if I had plastic surgery done - is it me or the surgeon's handiwork that hot guy is admiring? Eek!

I will answer this on two levels.

1. Personal level
I don't need implants, but if I did, I still would not get them. Only in the case of reconstruction after a mastectomy.
I don't think fake look better. Most look fake and obvious. Most over do it.

2. Professional level
I see breasts every day. I do ultrasound for masses and biopsies for cancer. I have seen very few implants that I would say looked good in the flesh. Most are shaped funny, too big for the body size and tissue around it. The less tissue a woman has, the harder they will feel and not blend in with the surrounding tissue. After time the breast tissue still starts to droop with age, leaving the implant in place.

The good Lord gave me pleanty on top, I would only consider a little just so I could go braless now and then.

I am curious about a man's perspective here. Do you think the fake one's feel as good as the real ones?

It seems to me that society as a whole is pushing for women to go under the knife for looks. This isn't like just changing your hairstyle. Something just doesn't seem right to me with the popularity of breast implants, liposuction, and plastic surgery.

I can't answer the question there, maybe another guy could. I'm one of those waiting for the right woman to come along type of guys lol so never done that sorry.

I will just say I think breast enhancement really depends on the woman. I don't have a set view on this either, but was very interested to hear what some of you felt about having this sort of thing done in general.

I don't think I would ever get implants unless I was in an accident or got cancer and had a masectomy to be symmetrical (prosthetic), not for enlargement.

I have had large breasts before when I was overweight, and now am a size that is well...bra optional...I wouldn't consider vanity surgery.

I would never get implants but that's just because what I have up top right now is too much. I have been seriously thinking about getting a reduction because I have a lot of back pain and am tired of paying $100+ for a bra and never being able to find nice dresses that fit properly, and even buying tops isn't so much fun. I talked to my dr about it and she said to wait a year or two and see what it's like then as sometime breast tissue changes a bit when you're in your early 20's (they grew a bit more last year so I can see that). The only thing I'm worried about would be breast feeding if I ever have any kids so I might suck it up for another few years and get it done when I'm done having babies.

I wear a 38D. Thats fine with me. They don't need to be any bigger. I'm 39..breastfed a child and everything...and personally I think they still look pretty darn good. I would possibly consider having them lifted...but they aren't all that saggy now. If money weren't an object I could think of better ways to spend it.

I was a with a girl a long time ago who I think got a reduction. I'm just guessing - she has some pics posted on a site. She clearly lost weight but they seemed smaller beyond just lower weight.

She was very athletic and her chest was always an issue. Like you, she had to shop like crazy for bras. She also got in a car accident and injured her neck and back, and I think that made it even worse.

I sure miss those fun bags, though.

I always tell men straight up I have small breasts, so if they want a bigger chested woman, well move on. lol There is no way I would want to compromise nipple stimulation. I've accepted the size of my breasts. I guess I just need to find a man who is a leg man!

In all seriousness, I would only get them if I had to have a mastectomy done.

I hope my detailed answers have aided you in your quest for breast knowledge. Maybe you are writing an important article and my bit of information was the clincher on your prize winning piece which will make you rich and famous.

I'm glad I could help. And you're welcome.

Personally, I considered them when I was young, as I was very small (32AA) & highly
unhappy with the way I looked. But I was scared to, because of all the horror stories
I've read. DUpont just settled a recent class-action lawsuit, over the sale & use of
Teflon, which is silicon. I would never consider eating food cooked on that crap, so
why would I allow it in my body? I was so happy when I had kids & suddenly wasn't
flat-chested anymore!

However, I saw a very cool thing on Mike Douglas or Merv Griffin, years ago, about a new
way to enhance breasts, using liposuction. They actually did it, right there, on TV! It was
so amazing! They just used a little excess fat from another area. No surgical risks,
totally natural & looked way more natural.

EDIT: I have a question, dtitunik. Why can't you go bra-less, if it would make you happy &
more comfortable? You aren't Dolly Parton, for heavens sake! You don't look much bigger
than me & I haven't worn one in over 3 & 1/2 years. In fact, the only time I ever wear one,
is when I am breast-feeding (Thank god, I'm too old to have more kids,LOL) As far as I am
concerned, they are old-fashioned, out-of-date, UGLY, & unhealthy.

I agree about bras! I hate them (rather wear a little camisole or a strap tee) Oh I own them, lots of them, and put one on when that's all I am wearing~
