Oreos are my all time favorite cookie.
I eat them alot-LOL!! Not a good thing either.
This week I bought a box of "Organic Oreos"
Oh these things suck. I have to throw them out.
Has anyone else tried their favorite foods which
have all of a sudden turned "organic" and wanted to puke?
(sorry about the visual)

Ah CG................. organic oreos are just plain wrong on sooo many levels. My sister in law one time made this organic blackberry pie and I swear I thought I was eating a card board box. Trust me.... that shit was beyond nasty. I had to eat the whole piece to as to not be insulting to her. At least she got smart and divorced my brother, hmmmmmmmm......... maybe she was trying to kill him ya think???

Double stuff real live oreos THE ONLY WAY TO FLY!!!

Wow...what makes them organic?
Is everything that's used to fabricate the oreo certified organic?

I had the opposite reaction. I saw them in the store, had them, and thought they were wonderful. It was nice to have a product that had no crap in it that tasted (to me) just like I expected. Ah well, more for me then!

You know Mel-
I found the cream to be really funky.
It just was not what I was use too.
Im glad you liked them- more for you.

Im now reluctant to try other things that I like
which have now gone organic. Anyone try anything
else besides the oreos?

Are we not allowed to name brand names? Asking because I am going to! I love Newman's organic 'oreos'! In fact I cannot eat regular ones anymore after eating the Newman's. The Newman's seem very fresh and crispy making the regular Oreos seem almost stale and slightly mushier now.

I eat a mostly organic, whole foods diet. There are non-organic foods I like and non-organic foods I dislike. Same goes for organic foods. Not a big deal however because I eat very little processed food and it is mostly the processed foods that can vary significantly in taste between organic and non-organic. Actually, if it weren't for DQ Blizzards, I would eat almost no processed food except at holidays!

We do have a tendency to like what we are used to eating though so I choose to eat mostly organic. That is what I'm used to now so it tastes better to me most of the time.

I was geeked when they came out with the organic frosted mini wheats, since I've been vegetarian for years I haven't had the real frosted miniwheats in forever. They. Sucked.

I use organic brown rice. It tastes far better than the regular kind. Bought some when they were out of the regular stuff and haven't gone back to it since.

The problem is you got Organic Oreos that are NOT " OREOS"

Somethings you must by that are brand name........

Now if you got some Oreo cookies made by Nabisco, and they were indeed "teh suk", Boo on them for making a crappy cookie.

ps: Oreos are infact Americas # 1 cookie just a FYI ;)

Dave - they were Oreos.
Now you can get them made with organic sugar
and flour.
LiveLaughLove said Newmans cookies. Their Ginger cremes
are awesome and they are right behind oreos as my favorite cookie.

There's something just so wrong with "organic" and "oreo" used in the same sentence. It would be like seeing "low fat" on a bag of pork rinds or "all natural" on a box of Twinkies. If the Girl Scouts even think of doing a "healthy" version of my favorite Thin Mints or Samoas, I'm boycotting!!! I'm all for eating well, but some things just shouldn't be messed with!

Most organic food tastes better to me. It's the same ingredients, just without the chemicals and processing. Although tofu cheese really sucks.

i prefer most organic products, and most taste like what they're supposed to taste like or better. what i don't like is some "substitute" foods. a few years back i tried to kick dairy, and since even most soy cheeses contain some milk protein (casein) i tried some of the vegan "cheeses." OMG that was a nasty experience! honestly i couldn't even swallow most of that stuff...the hard "cheese" in the best case scenario had a very artificial oily aftertaste, and in the worst case scenario it tasted like dirty old tires. yuck! the only thing that came remotely close to tasting okay was Tofutti non-dairy "cream cheese"...it was something i could eat, and didn't mind. but all of those products were loaded with hyrogenated oil which is extremely unhealthy. eventually i gave up and went back to the real thing...mmm cheese : )

I make it a point not to eat anything organic.

Why? You might be thinking....

Because I need all the preservatives I can get !!!!!!!!!!

Never tried "organic oreoes", but in general dont much care for sandwitch cookies of any brand or flavor.

Beware of commercial brands that put on an organic label anymore. The government under influence of big biz has redefined it in the interests of big biz. Also lots of former small independent producers of organic products have been bought up by big biz.

Somebody mentioned banannas. I cant even eat commercial banannas anymore, give me heartburn and headache. Figure its some chemical they use as organic bananas are ok. Alas organic is priced for the wealthy so only purchase them rarely as treat. And organic produce may be organically raised, but its also become big biz so is picked way too green (easier to ship) for good flavor anymore. So called organic apples for instance still taste like those unripe, but painted red, commercial apples. It truly is getting to the point if you want quality food you have to raise, process, and cook it yourself. You know its quality if you if it tastes good without processing, additives and special sauces, etc.

I did buy organicnions at Wallyworld, for way less than regualar ones? It seems that we are getting more choicesat better prices, and I like that. I also saw Tyson' organic chicken at a very comparable price. ( I still have visions of the tiny chickens I nce crammed into a shelter at a poultry place.) Given Tyson's huge market, I daresay they would not have their chickens "grazing"in fields of green grass and sunshine.

I never heard of or saw organic oreos before. Is that some marketing ploy to charge even more and make it seem just better for you to eat for some reason? That is weird.
