| Men and their Harley's Posted: 9/1/2007 10:49:05 AM | OMG!
I was just looking at some of the profiles in my "Viewed Me".
7 out of the first 10 that I looked at were discussing their Harley's, or equivalent, within the first 2 sentences.
7/10... This just cracks me up....
Don't get me wrong, I have no objection to riders.. I rode myself for 12 years, but .. but.. can someone tell me why so many men would have this as their lead off in a profile??

Masterfisher-A secure women wouldn't ask you to make that decision!
Women are attracted to the "bad boy" image. What's more bad ass than a guy in leather on a Harley. GGGrrr!!!!!
I'm pretty sure the guys are wise to that and use it as bait (so to speak). What a way to lure a woman in.
Just my thought for the day

| Men and their Harley's Posted: 9/1/2007 1:40:51 PM | I would ride Harley's only if there were open flat roads around where I live, otherwise its just not practical, unsafe and boring ride. Who wants to ride a bike in straight line. The bike comes with no leg guards so even on slow speed fall there is a very high chance of getting your leg crushed under bike. And on fall if the side of forehead makes contact with the road you would definately loose precious grey matter if not pass away. I have done plenty of bike riding and scooter riding in my teens and 20s. I seen some profiles here where women flat out mention it in their description that they don't want no Harley guys. Though there are plenty who says they love harleys even though they don't know how to ride a motorcycle or scooter. | |

| Men and their Harley's Posted: 9/1/2007 1:41:38 PM | ...some women are NOT turned on by this, in fact, associate the biker image with crime and criminals...while I know that all guys that ride harleys are not necessarily criminals, in my mind and the places where I have been when I was younger, the two go together like wine and cheese, peanut butter and jam, ying and yang...
what is bait for one fish, is a turn off to another...
vive la difference! | |

| Men and their Harley's Posted: 9/1/2007 1:57:57 PM | ^^^^^^^^^^^ point taken!!!
Let me rephrase, SOME women are attracted to the "bad boy" image.
I see your perspective. I can not relate to it, but appreciate it!!!!!!!!!!

| Men and their Harley's Posted: 9/1/2007 8:10:11 PM | Why you wanna harley guy, summer is almost over. You should start looking for a trucker or some who has car with heated seats. Are there any girls that are interested in men who ride japanese racing bikes. My friend rides a japanese bike and his girl friend is cute and beautiful. I asked him to put my name in his Will that his girlfriend goes to me in case the other vehicle wins in the bike vs car crash.
Harley's are expensive bikes and i guess those who ride them maintain a good car too. Which means they got money. And because riding a bike is dangerous so there is a high chance that the wife gets all the money and she becomes rich soon Hmm on that thought i'm interested in women that maintains and ride a Harley.
ps: high doze of sarcasm.

| Men and their Harley's Posted: 9/1/2007 8:19:18 PM | Heheh a nice hawg costs way over 20k... thus a guy has to have that kind of coin to park in a depreciating asset .... isn't THAT what women find sexy? Just kidding... just kidding don't flame me pls ladies
I must say I appreciate the women who own their own bikes ...
When I got my bike, it was an experiement. I never knew I would like biking or I wld have bought a decent one. Instead I bought a junker. Therefore of course, I do not lead with a pic of my bike because it is an old pice of cr#p waiting to die.... Old honda's just keep on ticking and ticking and knocking Nonetheless I've taken it out on a few fish dates this month and we've always had fun.
Maybe the guys lead with the bike because biking in the summer sunshine in BC is fun...

| Men and their Harley's Posted: 9/2/2007 12:18:17 AM | | guys like to show off their possessions that we have worked hard for . compensating i think not.And ladies as we all know you look like a million bucks when you are on one.Bad boy why not.Better to die cool than to live and be uncool. | |

| Men and their Harley's Posted: 9/2/2007 12:49:55 AM | me not a rider making a choice betwix and between the bike and the chick welllll u can spend all ur money on a bike and none for food in ur tummy or money for dates..... think i will pass. ... too noisy with all ur noise pollution to show off some chrome???? spells insecurity and not wise choices bad boy imagine PLEASE! Low riders and immaturity spells recipe for disaster for someone who is supposedly "mature" and never mind being ergonomically (anatomically ) correct for seasoned professionals. | |

| Men and their Harley's Posted: 9/2/2007 1:40:08 AM | Alrighty then....When I Msg someone I mention my Sport bike. That way if they are not into motorcycles it give them the chance to opt out.
Ya, we can spend all our money on our bikes....But don't .But there are some who spend all their money on Hair, nails..night out at the bar....Who come home broke, so no money for food or dates.Mmm....odd huh?....
It's easy for someone who has never rode or owned a Motorcycle to come up with all these fancy terms....
I won't bother explaining it, Cause you'll never understand....

| Men and their Harley's Posted: 9/2/2007 1:55:38 AM | ridden motorcycles lots and was thinking of taking lessons this summer with the rest of the POFers...... but was too expensive and didn't have the funds then and still don't. It's not about fancy terms etc.... my helmet is around here somewhere and burnt my leg a few times on the tail pipe. I've witnessed accidents and worked with those that have lost limbs to motorcyles. yes riding can be a passion to feel the wind in ur hair.... but i will lose to their passion so i don't want to play second fiddle to an inaniminate object. and btw i like my men to have all their parts working in tip top shape........ irregardless of the vibration they need to feel in between their legs. | |

| Men and their Harley's Posted: 9/2/2007 9:57:00 AM | Must admit I'm rather surprised that not one person has said a single thing about the possibility of the the "middle aged crazies"..
not that it ever crossed my mind of course.

| Men and their Harley's Posted: 9/2/2007 10:03:52 AM | Men who ride Harleys (and women) are mentioning it for the opportunity to meet like minded people... not every does, nor CAN ride a Harley... that's part of the appeal.
Why do women show their bewbs in pics??? Why are they somewhat highlighted?
We are what we are people, and for those of us who are 100% comfortable in being who we are, we aren't afraid to show it.

| Men and their Harley's Posted: 9/2/2007 10:29:17 AM | I ride a bike...so? I have a truck too....so? I also have a good job that I enjoy, great friends, I pay my bills and pay my way on nights out,,,with the exception of someone saying no to my offering to pay my share....i.e. a DATE
I ride because I love it. I talk about my bike with those who ride because they understand exactly how I feel (plus I LEARN more about bikes). However riding is not a pre-requisite to dating someone, but its nice to have that in common in the summer...you can go riding together.
Bad boy image...hmmmmm ya I must admit I'm liking that...leather, tattoos, chrome, noise, mmmmmm nothing better. BUT if they are a jerk (cheater etc) it won't matter how nice the ride is (bike or vehicle) or if they have a lot or little cash....once you strip everything away....all you are left with is the guy himself.
Ride because its YOUR passion not as a way to attract someone...

| Men and their Harley's Posted: 9/2/2007 12:00:40 PM | ^^^^^ I'ld ride with her any day^^^^Oh wait ...I have^^^She be's one of my "Biker" friends!^^^^ And has a pretty cool bike too ,and it's not a Harley. | |
|
| Men and their Harley's Posted: 9/2/2007 12:03:58 PM | I'm only interested in the streamline frame, shinny chrome, rumbling pipes!
The motorcycle is the only thing I'm looking at - and if it's a Harley - all the better!!!
|
| Men and their Harley's Posted: 9/2/2007 1:20:10 PM | I ride if you like it that's great,if you don't that's great too.
There's lots of different things we could do if you don't like bikes.
How many bikers does it take to change a light bulb?
35 you got a fuk'in problem with that............lol .

| Men and their Harley's Posted: 9/2/2007 1:58:47 PM | I've been around men and their harleys most of my life. I used to ride myself till a few years back. What I do know is that most men take pride in their rides and what do we talk about in our profiles the most....our interests, our loves, our desires, for some of us it's our jobs, our kids....for them it's their bike....I don't blame them.
Bad boy image maybe, but I can tell you I've met many ***holes that ride (my ex for one) but I've met many riders who are real gentlemen (my family doctor to name one). When you're fishin, it can't be about the bike....cause it'll never work. It has to be about the "guy" on the bike.
My two cents worth!!! | |
|
| Men and their Harley's Posted: 9/2/2007 2:04:54 PM | men & their Harley's are not my top criteria , I look further for more depth to them , if its only about the bike I click next profile ..... I guess because I spent the first half of my life around them and was married to one that was married to one ! I had a garage with Harley parts and bikes hanging from the ceiling for years...... I do respect the bike and the people that ride , its just not a "bait " tool that works for me anymore. I stopped riding when my kids were born as I felt one of us should stay alive for the kids....and it was me....... | |
