| Body Type : Prefer not to say. Posted: 9/1/2007 3:59:20 PM | | Um why not just put it. The only reason I could think of not answering that is if I had such an unshaply body that it couldnt be definied under one of thier body types. So thats makes me worry about the girls that say Prefer not to say and only have a picture of thier nose up | |

| Body Type : Prefer not to say. Posted: 9/1/2007 4:25:34 PM | I have ‘prefer not to say’ on my profile. I had average and a fair number of men told me that my body type is not average. My response is my body type is not athletic either so I decided not to specify and leave it to the beholder. Not something I want to debate.
When POF adds the body type 'fit' I'll update my stats. My photos change frequently and sometimes there isn't a full body shot there. Take it or leave, really.

| Body Type : Prefer not to say. Posted: 9/1/2007 4:35:20 PM | i have noticed when looking at the figures and descriptions of body types of American women on their profiles that a lot of these women have " a few extra pounds" , i have messaged a few to say that personally i dont think of them as "a few extra pounds"....some of these women replied stating that American/Canadian men actually think they are..........in Britain these American/Canadian "few extra pound" babes would be considered average or quite slim. When chatting to these American/Canadian women they think its quite normal to be classed as "overweight" tho when compared to the stick insect American celebrities i can see their thinking......but..........these "few extra pound" women are in my mind far more attractive than stick insects. | |

| Body Type : Prefer not to say. Posted: 9/1/2007 4:40:08 PM | | Well i get a kick out of how POF thinks there are only like what? 5 body types? Pfft! untill POF figures out theres more then 5 body types out there, i think "perferr not to say" will come up alot more. Just because there's not a better way to describe your body type.... | |
| Body Type : Prefer not to say. Posted: 9/1/2007 4:47:19 PM | | Well I dont think people just put body type by how they see celebritys, like theres no body type (Stick figure) for paris hilton. So average here is skinny and few extra pounds is average? | |

| Body Type : Prefer not to say. Posted: 9/1/2007 4:55:07 PM | | OP you need to remember that this is an international site and body type descriptions will vary depending on your location, culture, self perceptions, personal preferences etc and so on forever. I say just post a full body shot and if both parties are interested enough to meet up, take it from there. | |
| Body Type : Prefer not to say. Posted: 9/1/2007 5:18:57 PM | I'll show you why. Yours says athletic. Really? Well you must have low standards for what's athletic then...
Body type is an opinion, not a set mold. It just sets you up for trouble if someone else expects something from you and they find out they are quite mistaken because their own opinion of that shape differs greatly.
| Body Type : Prefer not to say. Posted: 9/1/2007 5:21:19 PM | | Hm well lets think about it athletic which I am. Because my body has been toned to the type of sports I play. Athletic body type is the only one I could see a wide range of people in because do sprinter look like wieght lifters? Think woman | |
| Body Type : Prefer not to say. Posted: 9/1/2007 5:25:27 PM | In my opinion, for the ladies, I think there should be added one more selection, something that goes between average and a few extra pounds, as many women I come across on here are, and that would be CURVY
So the selections should go like this for the ladies in my opinion
-Slim -Athletic -Average -Curvy -Few Extra Pounds -Big &Tall/BBW

| Body Type : Prefer not to say. Posted: 9/1/2007 5:26:24 PM | | Agree spirited soul. If you have full body pic it doesnt matter But thats what I'm saying! The ones that have prefer not to say and only a picture of thier face or eyes haa misleading. | |
| Body Type : Prefer not to say. Posted: 9/1/2007 5:27:28 PM | | And dutch if you dont think im athletic thats your opinion and you actualy get one cause I have a full body picture please try to say somthing usful | |
| Body Type : Prefer not to say. Posted: 9/1/2007 5:28:46 PM | | well said op read your words and take to heart YOU also need to think that not everyone is going to be put in a perfect mold of the descriptions . | |
| Body Type : Prefer not to say. Posted: 9/1/2007 5:31:31 PM | | BUt prefer not to say is not a mold of any description. All im saying is people with no full body pictures should put SOMTHING there so we can all get the idea | |
| Body Type : Prefer not to say. Posted: 9/1/2007 5:35:33 PM | | It is useful because that's how the world works. When I was 85 pounds guys and girls were telling me I was fat. So guess what, full body pictures still don't help much. Especially since a lot of people on this site use extremely out of date pictures from younger days. | |
| |
| Body Type : Prefer not to say. Posted: 9/1/2007 5:38:44 PM | | Took a look at your profile 5'4 85 pounds and people are telling you your fat? What are they insane? | |
| Body Type : Prefer not to say. Posted: 9/1/2007 5:39:56 PM | | Thats anouther thing if your gonna have a picture dont put one up of when you where 17 haha. Thats even more misleading! | |
| Body Type : Prefer not to say. Posted: 9/1/2007 5:40:15 PM | | I think most people tend to think athletic means muscular and I totally agree OP that it depends on your sport / activity of choice. Runners, swimmers, cyclist, weight lifters, football players. In the game of football alone how many different variances of athletic are there? At the end of the day how someone else describes their body type is meaningless. If you are interested in someone based on your correspondence enough to meet I guess if they don't have a full body shot for the cost and time of a coffee it's worth a chance. This little pond is far from perfect. | |

| Body Type : Prefer not to say. Posted: 9/1/2007 5:43:00 PM | | Haha yea Im not big and there a football players my size. Yes the first thing I do is read a persons profile. I'm not saying looks is exactly all I think about. This thread is an observation | |
| Body Type : Prefer not to say. Posted: 9/1/2007 5:46:14 PM | | I put prefer not to say because I am slimmer than "average" but I don't consider myself "thin" - simple as that. I wish there was a "slim" option. | |
| Body Type : Prefer not to say. Posted: 9/1/2007 5:54:24 PM | Perfer Not to Say plus...
No picture: Will leave everyone thinking the worst of your appearence. With head shot only, hiding the rest of your body: Again, we assume the worst.
A full picture of you? Well, in that case, pick one and let us be the judge. Seriously, for anyone who has a picture of themselves up, their full body, I don't honestly think at that point anyone is checknig what your body type description is, they've already judged that for themselves at that point.

| Body Type : Prefer not to say. Posted: 9/1/2007 6:00:33 PM | | I agree! I'm a curvy woman, and none of the other categories fit. I work out, but I don't look atheletic. I'm a few extra pounds, but the pounds are in the right places. Lets add "curvy"! | |
