Just in case you weren't feeling too old today, this will certainly change things.
The people who are starting college this fall across the nation were born in 1987 .
They are too young to remember the space shuttle blowing up.
Their lifetime has always included AIDS.
The CD was introduced the year they were born.
They have always had an answering machine. They have always had cable.
Jay Leno has always been on the Tonight Show.
Popcorn has always been cooked in the microwave.
They never took a swim and thought about Jaws.
They don't know who Mork was or where he was from.
They never heard: "Where's the Beef?", "I'd walk a mile for a Camel", or "de plane Boss, de plane".
McDonald's never came in Styrofoam containers.
They don't have a clue how to use a typewriter.
Do you feel old yet? (Sorry) Pass this on to the other old fogies on your list. Notice the larger type, that's for those of you who have trouble reading.

Save the earth. It's the only planet with chocolate.

what makes you feel OLD

Black and white tv........before the colour ones......not the tv on the blink.
A box of matches cost 2 cents.
A call from a pay phone cost 5 cents.

Time for some serious debugging. I was born in 1988 AND:

They are too young to remember the space shuttle blowing up.

The Columbia blew up only a few years ago.

They have always had an answering machine. They have always had cable.

I've never had either.

Popcorn has always been cooked in the microwave.

Or in a popcorn machine. Or a frying pan.

They don't have a clue how to use a typewriter.

I learnt how to touchtype on a typewriter before I had a computer.

Don't we all feel better knowing all that?

Geez, I remember.....
when trains had wooden seats!
The footy was listened to on the wireless.
That big round vinyl thing sang songs.
Tele shut down at 10.30pm on a friday night (after the creature feature), and the test pattern came on.
I watched on tele at school when Armstrong took his team to the moon.
Graham Kennedy ruled our screens.
When we could gather at the beach and drink all night, and the cop's couldn't care less.
There was no such thing as Ice, and Aid's didn't exist.
I'm waiting for the old age reversal pill to be invented......

the banana splits was the best tv show ever!
all motorbikes had 2 rear shockies,
cars had a button on the dash to start em,
you could get the parkes radio telescope in a cornflakes packet,
and who could forget sputnik and mica?
these 1987 models have obviously missed out on so much already...

Despite all the technology the 80's generation grew up with, they also missed out on;

-all those great abovementioned tv shows.
-cheap petrol.
-good quality drugs free from chemicals.
-speeding and not copping a huge fine and losing their licence.
-smoking where and when the mood took them.
-the real nature of 'The Hill' at cricket.
-waving paper streamers and jumping barricades at the footy.
-streaking at sporting events without repercussion.
-buying alcohol and cigarettes without having to show ID.
-going out and meeting people face to face in clubs, bars, etc without the aid of dating sites.
-Not having to be politically correct about anything and everything.

But compared to the 80' s, todays society is a lot more restricted in what they can and can't do. With this in mind I think the 'older' generation had it much better than those born in the 80's in many ways.
Do I feel old? Never!!
