Scruples: Does anyone have them anymore?
Posted: 9/11/2007 1:32:32 PM
Have only been in the Southern Highlands since March, and in this job since May where I live onsite at a motel in Bowral due for redevelopment next Feb. I was told not to take anymore bookings after January 31 next year, so I at least had a time frame to look for new work and accomm, but came home on Sunday after a nice day off to find the owners had decided to close the hotel - then and there! I have one week to find new digs and a job! I guess that's what I get for working for Dutch people - they have no morals, no scruples, no people skills, no nothing.

Mum with two boys and a dog looking for home and work!!!!!

I think legally you have some rights there, unless they have filed for bankruptcy.

First find a legal aid advisory place, ask what your rights are.
The second step if I were you call social security, they also can help you with finding jobs.
Job agency that deals with hospitality.

Wishing you lots of good luck

I thought Scruples had to do with men not having enough sex - sorry to hear about your situation. I would have thought you should have been given 2 - 4 weeks notice at least. Legally you should be able to ask for a moving fee from them or a relocation fee at the very least.

I keep hearing this about the Dutch, but I've never met a Dutch person I didn't like...

Good news is there's lots of jobs going begging in WA! Bad news is there aren't many places to live...

Don't move. Stay there until you find another job and somewhere to live.
What are they going to do? Pick you and yours up and carry you out the door? Not a chance.

Change the locks and tell them to shove it up their unscrupulous arses!

When you want to attack and belittle one specific person, hey just grab a generalisation on their race or ethnicity and lets have another riot!

You can say what you want about the situation and the particular people, but racist comments and branding every person from any place with the same traits and characteristics isnt appreciated. Are all AUSTRALIANS the same?

Good luck with your job and place to live. It must have been a shock, but I hope it leads to something better. But blaming a whole race for your problem might not be the best way to go?

If you have a contract, sit down and have a read. It should show you the position you are in and what directions you can take. But you might have to take it to court.

Best course of action is to look for another job ASAP I would think.

cheers and good luck
