| | Help me to understand thisPage 1 of 1 | I'm at the ball field watching my son's baseball game; one of the baseball moms is there. I know her socially and she is from Scandinavia or Finland, etc. She is not hard to look at and is wearing a white skirt with a black thong underneath that was clearly visible. I mentioned this to a female friend and she said there is no way as an adult woman she could have gone out of the house not knowing what was visible. I live in a tight "rear-ended" neighbor hood and this was an exception.
Was this a European fashion statement? Did she not understand how men work? Was her husband out of town and looking to spice things up or just looking for attention. Prior to this was my pet peeve about women who wear shirts with small print across the chest. Why do I get that look of indignation because I'm straining to read (not leering) what it says - buy a shirt with bigger letters and I can quickly glance.
Does any of this mean she's looking to be approached or nothing at all. Is it wrong to walk up to the baseball mom and say, "nice thong".
I'd really appreciate understanding this.

| Help me to understand this Posted: 9/11/2007 8:58:09 PM | | They do that everywhere now, you're just noticing it now? Not just Europeans. Not just the inshape women either. There are many who love to show off, and would intentionally wear ultra low waist pants or skirts so the top part shows. Or the skirt or pants might be a lil sheer. Some don't mean to show off, they just like to look sexy for themselves. And please no, don't approach them and comment on their undies. Just enjoy the view. | |

taray_queen:Some don't mean to show off, they just like to look sexy for themselves
^^^exactly! Not all women dress to show off for a man, or to entice him. They do it to make themselves feel good.

| Help me to understand this Posted: 9/12/2007 6:05:26 AM | I can in a large way understand why a woman would dress in a particular manner to feel better about herself, men do it as well (maybe not as often). I even understand the notion where a woman wears sexy lingerie underneaith her business attire for no one but herself, to make herself more confident. But a man in a suit and tie doesn't prompt a woman to stare at his fanny and wonder what's he up to.
As someone said I should just enjoy the view and not worry about it. Thanks for the replies.

| Help me to understand this Posted: 9/12/2007 6:17:20 AM | Completely inappropriate!! With children around that is very tasteless. It is one think to dress hoochie when you are out with the girls at a club but with the kids....geez!
The underwear thing is nasty. They do sell low rise thongs and even my kid does a squat crack check when she trys on pants. Its a must do with todays fashions.

| Help me to understand this Posted: 9/12/2007 7:16:28 AM | Remember back in junior high, when the girls started wearing bras (back in the old days, girls matured a bit later - today they're probably starting to wear bras in grade 2), but remember, you would go up and pull the bra away from her back and hear her howl when it snapped back and it was just oh, so funny for you and your buddies? Instead of going up and saying "nice thong", try snapping the thing and see what happens. I bet your buddies would still laugh.
But a man in a suit and tie doesn't prompt a woman to stare at his fanny Says who? Men in suits and ties are dead sexy.

| Help me to understand this Posted: 9/12/2007 8:11:02 AM | I have met loads of women who wear things like this. Some women want a man, some want attention.
However, I have learned that consciously or sub-consciously, women tend to colour code their outfits. Visible black panties, means that she wants hot sex with someone, and probably isn't getting it at home, or she wouldn't be advertising. White is the colour of purity. So a white skirt says that she is pure on the outside. So, I'd say that she wants guys to think that she is a good girl on the outside, but a bad girl in the bedroom.
There is a good possibility that she used to play around quite a bit, but now that she's got kids, she wants a decent guy. Or she could be married, but is missing her husband's attention, and just wants guys to be attracted to her, to make her feel better.
I'd approach, but just be friendly. Starting with "nice thong", won't get you very far with most women. Just talk to her, and be a little flirty. If she's really got a boyfriend, she'll mention it. Then, just say you enjoyed your conversation, and you'd like to spend more time together, and just give her your number and walk away. Then, it's up to her to call you, and that takes the pressure off her.
Said my piece. | |

| Help me to understand this Posted: 9/12/2007 9:52:08 AM | laughingblueeyes - well, maybe there's the difference - a woman dressed as I described - conjurs up a sexual aura. I never thought of a guy in a suit as being sexually appealing - good tip, though - lol.
The point of the story was not about introdcing myself to her (as she came over to me after the game and we chatted and I realized one month earlier, her and her husband were on my front porch with her husband droning on about how wonderful he was) it was what goes through a woman's mind. I was just trying to understand.

For me this is not true, I just kinda pick the 1st undies I grab. One day I could be wearing the most sexy undies ever the next day something from the 1930's well it looks like it could be lol. I do have some undies I were just for me at times. Its just knowing that you have something hot on and your the only one to know makes you almost feel like you can do anything. I wear them when I know I am going to be in a place where I will not be comfortable ie. job interview, 1st date. No one gets to see them its just for me.
And for the undies showing don't blame women its the new dam pants they make. The other week I went shopping for new jeans 3 hours later and well over 100 jeans I found one pair of pants where my bum crack did not show. I hate pant shopping, I love shopping but I hate pant shopping.
Hmm...very interesting theory scorpiomover. And what about those that go commando? Granny panties? Red? Purple?

As for commando that would be I really need to do my laundry.

| Help me to understand this Posted: 9/12/2007 1:07:47 PM | She was just looking for attention. As for this being a European thing , no i don't think so . I see women here all the time with their thongs showing above their pants . I guess they just want everyone to see their underwear because they are so proud of them.
As for tee shirts with saying across the chest well of course women wear them because they want guys to look . They just want to play a bit of a game where you look but don't do it so obviously otherwise they will be screaming " sexist pig" .

| Help me to understand this Posted: 9/12/2007 4:27:20 PM | In school I occasionally wore a suit for no reason,
EVERY time I wore it, I had a girl telling me I looked hot/sexy or whatever, including girls I'd never even seen before.
Wonder why that is. | |

Hmm...very interesting theory scorpiomover. And what about those that go commando? Granny panties? Red? Purple? Thanks. It's a combination of my sister, the film "10 things I hate about you", and observing women in various stages of dating. I'm not quite sure about those situations, but I'll have a go: Commando = a bit more open to things than black panties? I've gone commando, and I only do it when I'm subconsciously acting confident, even if I don't consciously feel that way.
Red panties = sexual aggression, or "If I want you, I'll TELL you"? I knew a few women who preferred red clothing, and they were quite promiscuous, but they decided who they would date, and the guy wasn't really given much of a choice in the matter.
Granny panties = I'm not dressing up at all? How can anyone feel sexy in something like that? It's like a guy who wears underpants that are extremely unflattering. Even men think about what a woman thinks of them if they get to their underpants.
Purple: I saw a colour therapist on TV, say that purple is a colour of confident romance. It was the colour of royalty after all.
For me this is not true, I just kinda pick the 1st undies I grab. I said consciously or subconsciously. I'm not saying you think about it. It's a trait that I've noticed.
As for commando that would be I really need to do my laundry. Funny, it normally means that I'd just do my laundry before the problem arises, or I'm confident that if someone did see my "bits", that I would feel quite proud about it. Also, I know plenty of women who wouldn't dream of going commando. They'd rather wear granny panties, and go to the launderette that evening.
lpkoji, you could be an exception. I'm not ruling that out either. However, I've read a few of your posts, and I found you to be quite sexually confident. Also, you're 22 which I have read in Lad's Mags as being in the "sex kitten" years, you have no kids yet, you have a pretty face, and a nice figure. All in all, you're easy on the eyes. Even your glasses make you look a little bit geeky, and geeky girls are very popular these days. So, all in all, I'd be surprised if you weren't confident enough to go commando. So, to me it fits.

| Help me to understand this Posted: 9/16/2007 10:42:37 PM | Yes, it would be wrong to walk up to the baseball mom and say, "nice thong". Visible through her skirt or not, it was her underwear.
And I doubt that making such a comment would be meant as a compliment to her taste (lovely fabric? quality stitching?), but rather a way for you to make it clear to her that you were interested in her sexually.
Bad taste all around. | |
