| Any good songs to workout w/? Posted: 9/19/2007 10:06:02 PM | | I always liked psy trance/goa. It moves fast, has a thump and is repetitive so you don't notice the time go by. I avoid songs I like to sing, it can take away from controlling movements for maximum value and a sloppy workout. When I get in super house cleaning moods those can keep me going for hours. | |

| Any good songs to workout w/? Posted: 9/20/2007 12:11:19 AM | psy trance IS probably the best music to workout with. Other than that there are a couple songs that i have been listening to for years now while working out: We Will Survive: The Warp Brothers Blast The Speakers: The Warp Brothers Blood is Pumping: Voodoo and Serana Superstylin': Groove Armada | |

| Any good songs to workout w/? Posted: 9/21/2007 2:28:49 AM | well even though i'm not a fan of clubbing music i have a 'minestry of sound' workout DVD and i tell u what, it's knackers me out! it's called 'PUMP IT UP'.
It's fantastic and does wonders!...it's helped me lose 1 stone in 4 weeks!
i highly recommend that to anyone who's into fast, intense and up beat workouts!
obviously people know clubbing music can be played at a fast pace. i break a sweat within the first 15mins.
i've tried alsorts of workouts and exercises over the years and this is the best ever!

Watch the way they get the crowd going. If you like "old school" more classic rock here are some of my favs:
2112 and Grace Under Pressure on CD by RUSH
Boston's Third Stage CD Boston Boston
Europe -- The final countdown
The Who -- Who's Next
Joe Satriani -- Surfing with the Aliens
We will rock you by Queen
Styx -- The Grand Illusion
Van Halen -- I like their first two albums the best, especially Atomic Punk because when I am biking the streets late at night Atomic Punk lyrics fit the bill when the adrenaline gets pumping "Nobody rules these streets at night like me -- the atomic punk" http://youtube.com/watch?v=4YStGAI0Tjk (super lousy sound quality, get the CD)
Metallica -- Master of Puppets Not sure if I like the violins added to this version but hey its a free sample: http://youtube.com/watch?v=6KtF7ql3FJc One of my alltime metallica favs: (Welcome Home Sanitarium) http://youtube.com/watch?v=WElvEZj0Ltw&feature=related
The Alan Parsons Project -- Gaudi CD ( http://youtube.com/watch?v=SjwUmMOJN64 ) APP -- Stereotomy CD ( http://youtube.com/watch?v=mnO7ajYnYOI ) On Air ( http://youtube.com/watch?v=2NtXXv21_AE ) A valid path CD (http://youtube.com/watch?v=fquO-FZ_hp8) same album , dif song ( http://youtube.com/watch?v=kEVUX8FI7zs&feature=related) http://youtube.com/watch?v=kEVUX8FI7zs&session=RXGioKF-dOj-VEwdK9j9PDt7gD5Drlw8r0geTOBVd4lR2YHP8GDvpKGo0E_qAMjf0wlGuiem3bw0romeXh-ga7gs3WSle0brwLt4TP27DzjhNzjdGRR0cGvC_EQhPokGiIlgf43UdYZ_eVVwrrC0XkCi2012j8JHoJlFbfTrr03YtedmQH_q4VOCpi_CgKO2WEdUpk3dL8ltog5vQDJIoRiv36mkpJCXbGktwJxjzthxYK-3qASF1wcDzpOmmLzL
Here's a wild one: http://youtube.com/watch?v=MHNxBheFAt4
Standing on higher ground -- APP http://youtube.com/watch?v=SjwUmMOJN64
Obviously these I gave you just as examples so you can check out the full songs and if you like them buy them because youtube mono sound quality absolutely bites compared to hearing these on CD. Even mp3 is probably better.
The other reason I advocate checking out APP for workout music is that it and he is highly under rated. Worked with The Beatles and Pink Floyd's masterpiece -- Darkside of the Moon. Most of his music you know is instrumental played at basketball games and the olympic games -- yes it is THAT good. But instrumentals can also be good for rest periods in a workout OR really increase concentration and focus because you're not listening to some voice.
Here's a good start out workout song that builds in intensity: http://youtube.com/watch?v=8akmP6Sjv2o
You want to hear crazy? http://youtube.com/watch?v=-B3UrB_dex8
And if you can stand that listen to ELP's "Brain Salad Surgery" -- I was listening to a user's projectplaylist.com played through their m y s p a c e page and was shocked how similar it was to this stuff made over 30 years ago!
Brain Salad Surgery will warp the way you see reality. It's how I became reduced to just a random entry. Truly.

Can't place the genre of music this falls under but it's somewhere between dance and ambient electronic techno but without the endless looping drum machine sound. Quite inventive sounding music. Fast paced with quite a few change ups to keep it interesting. If you have a subwoofer even better. Songs in particular averaging 5 minutes each:
•SpyBreak •Take California •Cominagetcha •History Repeating-with Shirley Bassey...(used several years ago in a high class car commercial can't remember the name at the moment) In fact I've heard other songs on this CD used in commercials I'm guessing due to its attention getting sound. This is one CD that will definately get your blood flowing especially on long morning commutes.
