There once was a Little Red Rooster (And i think he was Albertan)

Once upon a time there was a little red rooster who scratched about and uncovered some grains of wheat, after calling all the barnyard neighbours, the little red rooster said, "if we work togethor and plant this wheat, we will have some find bread to eat. Who will help me plant the wheat?"
"Not I" said the horse, "Not I" said the chicken, "Not I" said the goat, "Then i will" Said the little red rooster. After the wheat started growing, the ground turned dry, and there was no rain in sight, "Who will help me water the wheat?" Asked the rooster!
"Not I" said the horse, "id lose my workers compensation!" Said the sheep, "Id lose my Overtime entitlement said the goat, "Then i will" Said the little Red Rooster.
The wheat grew tall and ripened into golden grain, "who will help me reap the wheat" Asked the red rooster!
"Im waiting for a guaranteed anual wage" Said the horse! " Not I" Said the chicken "Out of my classification" Said the sheep, "Not I" said the goat! "I will" Said the little Red rooster. When it came time to grind it into flour "Not I" said the horse. "Id lose my employment insurance said the chicken. Then it came time to bake the bread. "Thats overtime for me" said the horse. "I left school and never learned how" said the chicken, "Id lose my welfare benefits" said the sheep!
"Then i will" said the little Red Rooster. Five loaves of bread were baked and the Rooster held them up for all the neighbours to see.
"I want some" said the horse, the chicken, the sheep, "I demand my share" said the goat. "NO" said the little Red Rooster. "I can rest for awhile and eat all 5 loaves myself".
"Excess profits" cried the horse, "Capatilist leach" Screamed the chicken, "Company Fink" grunted the sheep. "Employer domination" screamed the goat, and they hurreidly painted picket signs and marched around the Little Red Rooster singing "We shall overcome" And they did.
For when the farmer came to investigate the commotion, the Rooster was told. "You must not be greedy, look at the oppressed horse, look at the disadvantaged chicken, look at the underprivaliged sheep, look at the less fortunate goat, your guilty of making second class citizens out of them!"
"B- B- But I earned it" protested the rooster!
"Exactly" Said the farmer, "that is the wonder of free enterprise system, anybody in the barnyard can earn as much as thy want. You should be happy to have all this freedom, in other barnyards you would have to give all the loaves to the farmer. Here you give four loaves to your suffering neighbours"
And they lived happily ever after. Including the Little Red Rooster, who smiled and crowed "I am grateful, i am grateful"
But the little red roosters neighbours wondered why there was no more bread made.

And living around here is making me feel more and more like the Rooster all the time!

I'm all for Alberta breaking away from Confederation, ceasing transfer payments and going it alone. What do WE get from Confederation? Nothing. We get far less than we pay in transfer payments, no say in Ottawa, why should we stay? We could afford to have the best healthcare system in the world, the best roads, the best of everything. And it Steady Eddie would charge Big Oil 10 cents on the dollar for royalties, think of where we would be THEN.

well OP, I began to read this thread........... and being not in the frame of mind in the moment to be able to absorb such a long abstract story written within a seemingly endless paragraph..............I then became confused due to losing my place 3 times while being nterupted by my life's lil chaos's.....

.....so then I thought........

" ok, I'll skim down to see what the first replying poster has to say about all this nonsense " as this may help me absorb the information once I re skim the thread............. only to find out that this poster was indeed you the "OP".....

......well, given my confession to not actually reading or being able to absorb the post, I abstain from commenting on this particular thread being "nonsense" based, as all I have to go by thus far, is the fact that even you, the OP, have seemingly confused even yourself to the point of feeling the need to reply to yourself..................

Ohh breaking away from the confederation!! WHAT A BRILLANT IDEA!!!! omg ! give your head a shake and a good one at that. When the oil dry up and the folks go to the next province to have a windfall then what? come back crawling? Ohh sure you're gona probably be fine for the rest of your life with the Alberta Advantage but our kids probably wont have the same windfall, then WHAT???

Provinces all go thru ups and downs, some stay on the down longer than others but eventually things start to go well.

This kind of rethoric about separation makes as much sense as the Quebecers wanting to separate, At least Quebec wants out for actual independance, not for some selfish OHHHH GIMME GIMME GIMME....all mine!

/flame on!

When I started reading this I was optimistic as I read about the little red rooster... after all, who doesn't like c0ck? Well, homophobes excluded...

As I read further, I read about the sheep, and I got aroused.

Reading further on, I read about the bread and I got greedy. Yah ! Sex AND money !

Further on, I read about the farmer, and I started fantasizing about his daughter... mmmmm, the farmer's daughter...

I don't understand the ending though. In english class, they taught us that all stories builds to a climax. Who climaxed though? The c0ck? The sheep? The farmer's daughter?

Anyone else still confused by this story?

Yeah but the THREAT of Separation has Ottawa constantly kissing their ass. Maybe its time we rattle the cage a bit. I would be happy with each province having 1/11th of the power in Canada. Why bother even voting, the election is over once Quebec and Ontario have their say.
