| | I saw a study...Page 1 of 3 (1, 2, 3) | I saw a study that said when males look at a blond they think ohh fun, but when they see a Brunette they think I can take her home to meet mom. Theses were not the exact words that were used but same idea.
I was just wondering what the guys view on this this.
Just a note I am a natural blond and I could never dye my hair. I am not complaining I just would like to know.

| I saw a study... Posted: 9/18/2007 11:38:09 PM | | I'm generally more attracted to brunettes myself, either way, but I don't usually associate hair color with personality. | |
|
| I saw a study... Posted: 9/18/2007 11:42:46 PM | | Hair color doesn't phase me anymore. Most of the time it's colored/bleached anyway. Hair color *could* be associated with personality just like someone with piercings or tattoos... if they went with the coloring or bleaching. | |
|
| I saw a study... Posted: 9/18/2007 11:58:34 PM | | I often thought that guys only looked at blondes to "hook up" with, considering the fact that I am a natural blonde also. I dyed my hair, and well, guys still look to "hook up" with me even now. I don't think hair color really has much to do with anything, I think it all has to deal with how the person acts more then anything honestly. | |
|
| I saw a study... Posted: 9/19/2007 1:08:32 AM | But looking back, I dated both light and darker haired women. In reality I dated the whole package, especially their personality, not just the hair.
As I have gotten older, I will not hold blonde hair against a woman, but I prefer darker hair on a woman... go figure.
I think the study is flawed, but a flawed myth that is still held up as something more.

| I saw a study... Posted: 9/19/2007 1:09:27 AM | The first part of my message, I left off...it should have started with:
When I was younger and surfed allot more, I tended to like blond hair, but that also came with a dark tan and I liked the contrast.
|
| I saw a study... Posted: 9/19/2007 1:23:37 AM | | I can't say that hair color makes no difference, but I can say that the difference that it makes is related solely to physical attraction. That is, I'm attracted to different hair colors in different ways, but none of that affects what I think of the woman herself. | |

| I saw a study... Posted: 9/19/2007 2:37:04 AM | | there's a lot of ideas behind hair color... i've never really been one to go towards one rather than the other. i've never been specifically into redheads though, but it really depends on the girl. i've seen a few that i have found attractive, but i'm more into personality than hair color. i've dated one redhead and that was terrible, but i won't blame it on her hair color lol... but no, i've never really thought blonde = more fun. | |

| I saw a study... Posted: 9/19/2007 3:15:55 AM | Stereotypes are soooo much fun, huh?
I don't take hair color into account, when deciding who I wish to be involved in a long term relationship with.

| I saw a study... Posted: 9/19/2007 5:45:39 AM | | i want a red head i promise i will clean up after her and feed her and pet her and love her lmao | |
|
| I saw a study... Posted: 9/19/2007 6:08:06 AM | where did you see this study? what was the sample size and demographic?
hair is one factor of physical attraction. eyes, body, voice, touch, go further in my opinion.
there's probably some psychology to the gist of your post but IMO i disagree with it.
EVERYONE is superficial by the way. its biological. physcial attraction goes back to the times of cavemen before verbal or written communication, so if someone says they're not superficial, that's a lie. deep down they've already made their judgment of whether you're "fun" or "take home to mom".

| I saw a study... Posted: 9/19/2007 6:08:58 AM | I've only ever had a relationship with one blond, and she was a Clairol blond. (She looked far better with brunette hair, too.)
I've dated a few , and I never noticed anything different about them (as a group). Things like height and hair colour have little impact on my view of the person.

Hmmmm...not a few of the brunette's I've known.
I like women period. Whatever the hair color.

| I saw a study... Posted: 9/19/2007 7:02:56 AM | The only time hair color makes me wonder about a woman's personality (in a good way) is if it's an unnatural color such as pink or blue. Then I begin to wonder what led them to make that choice, what they may be into hobby-wise etc. since it is a non-conventional color choice.
When it comes to natural hair colors, they barely get a second look from me. It's the whole package that matters more when it comes to personality. A woman can look pleasant or nice and turn out to be nasty and vice versa.

| I saw a study... Posted: 9/19/2007 7:10:29 AM | HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! That was hilarious!
I've never had a blonde girlfriend (probably because one or two of them dyed their hair and I never knew about it, who knows?) Even if I did though it wouldn't affect my decision as to whether I should take her home to meet my mother or not.
|
| I saw a study... Posted: 9/19/2007 8:01:26 AM | | I've heard of that study or something similar. There are stereotypes associated with blondes, whether people will admit it or not. Personally, I wouldn't date a blonde, bring one into my social circle or take one home to meet my parents. I just don't like the blonde attitude. | |
|
| I saw a study... Posted: 9/19/2007 9:39:47 AM | Well, taking her home to mom no longer applies, but I'd have no problem whatsoever to take a Blonde home to dad. I see blonde, I think 'pretty'. (No, not all blondes are pretty, but you get the point.) | |

Sounds very scientific.

| I saw a study... Posted: 9/19/2007 2:40:51 PM | | That's really dumb. Tell me you don't really have uncertainty on this. | |
|
| I saw a study... Posted: 9/19/2007 2:48:59 PM | I found the study last term at school, I remember coming across it and thinking well that sucks. I just wanted to ask on here, I know that people do not hold back their views on here.
I hate the stereotype that blonds are dumb.

That is just great really feed in to the stereotypes. So are you saying you never talk to a blond? That is really strange, and you do realize that you could have dated a blonde she just might have dyed her hair.

Well the question was probably asked and the guy came up in his head this vision of a bombshell in a mini skirt then the study would be true. ....for the vision in his head. Now show them pictures of every day people in normal life who are not out on the town then the study would be different.

| I saw a study... Posted: 9/19/2007 2:58:58 PM | | I prefer dark haired ladies over blondes but it is not that important to me. I know hair colour has nothing to do with intelligence. | |
