Any fans of Depeche Mode? I have a feeling that this thread will be deleted for some stupid reason... but I looked up in the thread archives, and Depeche Mode isn't included yet... or has been deleted for some reason or another.

I'm a huge fan of these guys.

One of the best artists ever...

Any thoughts?

Are they going to make a new album soon?

What is the name of the live cd/dvd? The last one I've heard was Playing the Angel.

Depeche Mode does not disappoint.
You can dance to it, sleep to it, cry to it, laugh to it, get angry to it, walk to it, relax to it, and heal to it and of course make delicious love to it.
Geniuses. Period.

Absolutely LOVE Depeche Mode. Johnny Cash almost ruined "Personal Jesus" for me though!

Depeche Mode is one of my favorite bands. They had an album released 2 years ago.
The reviews were promising, but only one song off of the album was released
here in Canada.

I would love to see a new Depeche Mode album!

Playing the Angel completely rocks. I wasn't that pumped for it but was blown away by how modern it sounded. I figured it would be some retro thing but they have really kept up with modern electronic influences.

Dave's stuff on myspace sounds fantastic too, thanks for that. can't wait.

That reminds me of my biggest error career wise!!
Back in the early eighties I was a DJ in Sheffield & occasionally put bands on, (in fact I did the first ever gig New Order did after re-forming from Joy Divivsion), & Depeche Mode's management team had heard of this & came up to clock the venue & ask me to put a gig on. Well, me being a prat I turned them down on the grounds of them being "too commercial".

What a mistake! They turned out to be probably the best band to come out of that period. I still shake my head when I recall the follies of youth!

DM def rocks. First song I heard from them was "People Are People". Dig the Playing The Angel. Got more into music when Ultra was released. Chicks sure get down when songs are played at the some 80's club in San Fran.

I love them. Favorite album... Black celebration. I own all of their cds except Playing the Angel. I saw them in 99 (maybe it was 98, i cant remember)For the singles tour in orlando. they finished the show and left. Everyone stomped, they did an encore. Everyone stomped again and Martin Gore came out and did Somebody. Everyone stomped some more, the lights came on. We stomped for 10 more minutes and the lights dimmed. They came back out a third time and Dave Gahan Said " alright orando, this ones for you" Just cant get Enough followed. AWSOME night.

I think DM is a great band! My favorite stuff is somwhere between A Broken Frame,Construction Time Again and Some Great Reward.
I first saw them during the Black Celebration tour in '86 at the Tower in Philly. The opening act was Book of Love...was a great 1,2 punch...a year later I remember I got to see Vince Clarke when Erasure opened for Duran Duran.
DM is always in heavy rotation with me.
