Does anyone know of any sites that has easy ways to memorize drink recipes and the recipes themselves listed? Things like: the Kamikaze. (one of my fav drinks) The kamikaze had a "Very Tragic Landing"..V-T-L..Vodka, Triple-sec and Lime..Im trying to work towards becoming a bartender and i cant afford the school right now..Basically, im trying to teach myself..Also, has anyone had any luck using flash cards to learn drink recipes? Any help/advice is welcome.

hi glad to hear u r trying to become a bartender . Try this website good search engine www.geocities.com/funkyw1. Not only can u find drink recipes through the search, but u can find recipes for drinks if u join Facebook. They have an application that u can add called Drink Recipes as well as one called booze mail 9send ur freinds a drink. Also as far as tring to memorize all the drinks in ur head why not approach this as a learning situation and start a small memo like binder using each type of base liquor as subject ie. whiskey, rum, vodka, etc. and build it alphabeticly. There are thousands of drink recipes out there, if u memmorize the basics u will then be able to learn the popular ones as they varry from place to place and u'll always be able to look up unfamilliar ones from ur own personal recipe book / bible . Trust me as a former bar tender I know . Cheers !!

The best way to learn how to be a bartender, is to just be one.

You can go to Chapters and find tons of "Bartenders Bibles" as well. I was a bartender for 12 years and took a course midway through that. I learned more just by working in the bar than I did at the school.
