| savoury pudding... Posted: 9/28/2007 9:18:15 AM | This is one for all the great Bristish Sunday roast lovers....i found it and well...it's just something different to Yorkshire Puddings (and you can have it with all roasts...see below)...can't think how many different adpataions I've done...just wanted to share ...try it and let me know what you think...if you have a fiddle with it...then do share
Heat oven...GM7 (425F)...heat a roasting tin, with a thin layer of lard in the bottom (till its smoking) Put in a bowl...60z chopped suet....4oz self raising flour...1 heaped tea. sage...same of sage...salt & pepper to taste....1/2 tea baking powder.....40z fresh breadcrumbs & finnally 1 dessert. finely chopped onion.
Beat 2 eggs...& milk to mix (about 1/2 - 1/4 pint).
Pour the eggs & milk into the dry ingredients to form a batter...add to the hot pan and bake for about 20-30mins....
the above should be served with Roast Pork....but using marjoram in the base recipe...how about....
Roast chicken....replace sage with Thyme... Roast Beef....replace sage with Mustard... Roast Lamb....replace sage with Rosemary... ..i've even used it as a pie topping... Enjoy | |
