It's October and there's a chill in the air.. time to pick apples, carve pumpkins and jump in the leaves........ the nights are getting longer and colder... the trees will soon be bare and will reach out to the full moon with their spindley fingers. The Earth is going to sleep as summer dies all around us! Cold autumn winds blow at night with icy rain hitting the window pane. We sit around a warm crackling fire roasting pumpkin seeds and telling ghost tales. Soon it will be the 31st, the night we come together to bring warmth to each heart with the fruits of Harvest, and honour those that have passed on before us... the night of the dead, the eve of the holy souls, and scare away those that dare to trick us and play mischief! And how do we do this, you may ask? We dress up in disguises and HAVE FUN!

This is the night of mystery and mayhem... avoid them annoying trick-or-treaters banging on your door till all hours demanding your covetted chocolates n' goodies... get into the true spirit of the season and bring them goodies to our party!! ... wear a masque or costume to confuse us and drive us batty! A prize for best costume will be awarded, and there will be special "seasonal shooters" available at the bar as well as the 1/2 price wings and other delicious specials!! Monster mash to the music from your favourite DJ and dance the night away!! So be sure to come out on this frightfully fun night and have yourself a goulishly good time!

NOW HOW DO I GET THERE?
Wise Guys is a nice brightly lit tavern located on the Danforth. If you are driving from the east your best bet is to catch the Danforth from Eglinton Avenue E. and follow it for about 2 blocks west of Main Street. The bar is located on the south side (left hand side). There is a Petro Can gas station right beside it. If you are driving from the west end you may want to take the Don Valley south and take the Don Mills Rd. exit and head south to O’Connor Dr. Make a short left then right onto Greenwood Ave. and keeping heading south to Danforth Ave. Turn left and follow Danforth for about 3 blocks and the bar will be on the right hand side. Look for the Petro Can gas station. There is plenty of parking on either side of the tavern. If you doing the TTC like me you can go to either Main or Woodbine Stations because it’s smack dab in the middle of the two. If you’re still confused after all that you’d better email me.
So come one, come all, to socialize with the TSG, enjoy the 1/2 price wings, and dance the night away as we provide a cure for the mid-week blues. They have a also large patio for you fresh air nuts.

Or you could be a one-eyed arrr. wear a patch over one eye, dangle an eye or two from your ears... nice earings.

Well Sweeet Devil, you can come to the party dressed as your favourite Galdiator! or come AS alice in Wonderland!  dress up in any kind of costume you want...
some people don't like dressing up and just come for the fun, and that's okay, but it's lots more fun when folks are into the spirit of the season!
Do as you like... oh, and I won't object if you wish to treat us all with goodies like chocolate or chocolate... or chocolate.

Posted: 10/5/2007 6:48:02 AM | Hi Ruby, mobility devices can be stored near the main entrance... there are couple of tables there in the front section and quite spacious.
If you can manage about three little stairs by way of a cane and the handrail, you can enjoy the big room!! the washrooms are all on that level, so is the patio.
I didn't notice if there was a gate or anything by way of the patio that leads to the street... I can find out for you.
But if not, you can still come and enjoy the night, cuz there is the front section when you first come in that is ground level. I can ask them to reserve a spot there for you if you want, but I need to know for sure the time you think you'll be arriving!
Can you manage to maneuver through the crowded fishpond with a cane or walker if need be?
Apologies if my questions appear inappropriate, but it's just that with my arthritic knees and back, I need to walk with a cane on the hard concrete streets, so I know the problems (subways, stairs, etc -- I can barely tolerate 30 minutes of shopping these days -- oh horrors of horrors, now that is scary! ) Once I'm at a place with friendly floors, then I'm okay on my own. I get around without it. Wise Guys have natural wood floors that make a big difference in one's comfort levels via the feet and legs (trust me, I know of what I speak... where there is arthritis, there is also fibromayalgia,). The dancing is great, even 5 minutes relieves alot of the pain... (so does the beer, but who'd o' thunk it?).
What I really love about Wise Guys, is that the privies are on the main floor.. no stairs to hobble up and down.. and they are big and CLEAN!!! Obviously a woman's touch!
I hope you can come.. the more the merrier on this spooky Halloween night~~~~~~*

Well I'm assertive and outgoing... so what does that make me? I'm hardly "bad".. I'm very nice and caring, a regular Elly Mae with alot of fire. My heroes are Boadacea, Empress Irene, Joan of Arc, Queen Elizabeth the Great, Wonder Woman and Tinker Bell. 
methinks that as adults, when you reach a certain age, people really need to get over that shyness bit... it really is counter-productive.
they should take courses in assertiveness if they can't get their courage up.
You guys need to email the ladies if you like her profile... don't wait for the ladies to email you... just avoid the skanks.... there are nasty women in this place that provide services free of charge... *shiver* and vice-versa... lots of guys willing to do the same or looking for it anyway...
That's why again I say, come out to these events and meet!!! Dance and talk... have a beer to loosen your inhibitions.. but get out there... JUST DO IT!
All I've met at these parties are really terrific people, ladies and gents alike! super nice people... shy ones and outgoing ones!
... And you fine friend, I noticed by the end of the evening of our last event, you had two charming ladies in your company...  good goin', tiger! Keep it up!

If you come as an Egyptian masseuse, all you need to wear is a wee white loin cloth, headband, sandals and some brass arm rings. that's pretty cool. You'll blend right in with them Romans in their togas!!

Some nice guys have the balls to approach a woman and yet there are those who introduce themselves, then ponder what else to say (such as me.) I was refering to men when I was refering to 'nice guys', except if you are one, or had been, then I appologise. lol Yet I don't actually think you are, because we met already. Oh and you think it's a bit with some people. For me, it's more than just an act.
Oh and I have messaged more than a hundred women on here and the majority of them have turnned me down, looking for a better guy, or because they don't like what I wrote. Oh and yes I do go to these events, but I would rather not drink, because I get even more quiet. I will go, but you might not recognise me from my costume. | |
