“Accidental” PoF Meeting??

I almost had a fender bender on Sunday, on my way to the PoF Brunch at Fresco’s.

Just a few blocks before Fresco’s I went to change lanes.. mirror, shoulder check, my usual routine, saw nothing, but when I started to pull over I heard the angry horn.

I pulled back into my lane.. looked again still saw nothing and looked a third time and I then saw him. In a brown, I think they call it “Champagne” coloured SUV. I didn’t see him at all until I looked THREE times.. he just kinda blended in with the background.

My fault TOTALLY.. I knew it and was totally embarrassed… but he’s pissed!!

Glaring and swearing at me… waving his hands at me, (the usual indicators) in anger. I’m indicating my apologies as best I can.. hands in the air in surrender… I’M SORRY, I’m SORRY! But to no avail.. he is not going to be mollified by any simple apology.. I was an idiot and he was going to make sure I knew it!

Anyway, I pull in behind him and he’s still yelling and gesturing at me via his side view mirror and out the window.. for the next two blocks!!

I’m Sorry, I’m Sorry!!

Guess where he turns in? yep.. you got it. Fresco’s.

I did not follow him into the parking lot, I hate confrontation.. I knew I was wrong and didn’t need it pounded into me any more. I don’t know for sure if he was a PoF’er.. but I suspect he was.

What a way to meet the potential love of your life??

Anything similar ever happen to you?

Yeah
I was going to Fresgo's the other day and this brown haired lady oblivious to traffic almost cut me off twice.!!
She kept making weird gestures for a couple of blocks , and I kept yelling at her "I don't understand!!" but she kept saying something like "I'm SURREY, I'm Surrey" like that's an excuse!

Bonnie?
Are you a bad driver?

If memory serves me correct, weren't you invovled in a traffic oopsie on your way to Funtastics in Vernon too? I seem to recall that you claimed it wasn't your fault then too.

Hey Tey!
Funtastic Weekend... you mean when I got hit from behind on the Coquihalla Hwy doing 100k?

yeah.. that was me too.. but hey.. I'm taking full responsibility for this "almost" oopsie... I'm guilty, I admit it!! .... but the Funtastic Weekend one, I'm not sure how that could have been my fault unless I was driving in reverse!! lol

Wow Bonnie: After HE got in your way (of course you never should admit to cutting anybody off). You should have followed him into Fresgos and given him supreme sh** for it... You could have taken at lesat 5 minutes and done a really good job. Guys really respect that in a lady ... lets us know who's boss.

Don't you just HATE the vehicles that blend into the background. Or the ones just small enough to fit inside your blind spot.

Uhm Bonnie....THAT'S NOT the way to pick up a guy...but you never know what works these days lol

I know you aren't one for confrontation...saw that when you visited us Vernonites for Funtastic (which was an interesting weekend lol). I think we've all had those type of experiences with other drivers...maybe not on the way to a POF function lol....but hey it's a great way to introduce yourself

P.S. And just because there might be a chocolate fountain at the December Brunch, doesn't mean thatcha need to go out and fender bend on the way out to it this time either B.B.

Although, I will admit.............fighting with chocolate afterwards to settle the issues has my vote.

My experience wasn't with fsh but it was similar.

One time I was coming driving up the street toward my house and I see an unfamiliar, older pickup parked right in front of it, partially blocking my driveway. Grrrr

I'm not expecting anyone, I wonder who the heck is that. I rule out the Jehovah's Witnesses who might be pestering my neighbourhood again because they usually drive newer cars, though usually park in front of my house before they start their walkabout.

As I drive past the truck I don't recognize the lone male occupant in the shaded cab. As is my habit I want to back into my driveway and carport and he starts his truck and backs up to make room.

As I'm reversing, looking in the rearview mirrors I notice he got out of his truck and is following me, carrying something. I park and exit my truck.

He makes a friendly greeting, I'm still confused who he is. Then I recognize him, the husband of the couple that I've done some work for, I usually deal with his wife, have only briefly met him.

He hands me a cheque for my last job and a bottle of champagne for a tip for a job well done.

Did I ever feel stupid.

I had troubles with being "stalked" while I had my picture displayed on POF. Turns out people on POF would recognize me around town cause I had my picture posted on POF... so I had some sort of freaky encounters.

One time while walking downtown, this guy and I start talking. He says he's seen me somewhere before. We sort of try to figure out where, and then it turns out he remembers my pic on POF. So that was sort of harmless.

But another one, was when my dog and I were at the beach and this guy starts up a conversation with me. Didn't think much of it, but then when I get back home I got this email on POF from him and he said that it was him that I was talking to down at the beach. And he said he couldn't believe how normal I sounded. It was like he believed that women that are on POF are not normal. So I was sort of insulted, and I was very freaked out that he carried on a whole conversation with me without mentioning that the reason he was having a conversation with me was because he saw me on POF.

And I've had a couple of other cases like that, so needless to say, no more picture of me is up on POF. Don't like being stalked. This town is too small. And the site administrator takes off my picture of a puppy if I put up something like that.
