What about Golf for a first date?Page 1 of 2    (1, 2)
What would your opinions (male and Female) on having someone arrange a tee time for two couples on a first date?

My reasons that it would be a good idea are:

1)Safety in numbers
2)Enjoying a mutual sport.
3) Group atmosphere.
4)relaxed setting

Your feed back is welcome :)

and Thanks in advance

I see no problem with that! Should a prospective date like golf? I think it would be a great way to get to know someone...

He!!'s Bells...why not. If I am going to play whack Fvck, I would rather it be with a couple clubs and a ball...not a club and a couple balls....

It's a great idea as long as you don't go to the course where you flirt with the girl driving the beer cart..... that's a catch-22.

I went out on a golf date... we had a lot of fun because it wasn't a compettitve thing, We laughed at ourselves and each other the entire time. The only suggestion I have is to not show up your date. Do your best to keep the score as close as possible... I'm assuming you are an avid golfer and she may not be.

I've done mini golf , but have never even been to a driving range let alone a golf course . I would not be against it . I think it would be a hilarious way to spend a afternoon exercising my arm muscles and counting ability as it would probably end up taking a kazillion trillion swings to get to the finish line ... erm home base ... umm uhh 9th hole .. it is 9 holes right ??

I would definitely like that as I have spent the last two years learning to play the game. In a senior sales position, I spend a large amount of time on thegolf courses. The only thing I would not like to see, is that golfer who is so intense with the game, it takes away the enjoyment for the other players. My average game is 109 and I've broken below a 100 three times this year. (because the guys gave useful tips on the course) I have also shot two games over 125 because one of the men made comments about women having their own course and men having theirs. Both these golfers shoot in the low 80's and don't know how to JUST RELAX and enjoy the company.

I think that would be really fun and I don't even play golf!! It's a good way to have time to get to know one another - as well as have fun at the same time. A nice dinner after would be a great end to a fun day!!!

I think it's a great idea. You can tell alot about a person during a round of golf. Actually playing a twilight nine holes followed by a steak and a beer with an attractive woman (love the gear - suddenly thought of Bill Murray in Caddyshack ) is about as close to being in my happy place as it could get.
Now to win that lottery so I could do that sort of thing every day.

I've never golfed, this sounds like a wicked idea! Mind you, I would be happily gilmoring the golf balls and hoping that I hit them in the right direction, sounds like good times!

the like the idea , just not for a first time meeting . I couldnt imagine the out come of the game if said 2 parties didnt get along or if ... one /both had lied ... 18 holes becomes nine and every question is evaded with a mulligan , to much talk about balls , holes and wood not to mention the time spent looking for your balls , arguements about whos driving the golf cart..... good idea tho =]

I'm not that good at golf, so that's a great idea. In fact, I've tried suggesting it in the past to at least a couple of different women, but they just weren't interested in it. Even if golf is out of the question, miniature putt is ok, so is the driving range. But again, don't try to show up your date by using your TNT driver or the BAZOOKA !!

If playing golf, stick with 9-holes. 18 will take 4-and-a-half hours or longer to play. Some 9-hole courses are mostly 3-pars, and walking the course may only take 90 minutes to play. That may be more preferable.

golfing is a fun way as long as you are not too competitive, keep it fun and just enjoy the day with the person.

I would love to meet someone who likes golfing, being out door and walking around, now that is fun

Golfing on a first date could go both ways. If you both already played golf before and enjoy the fetching with yourself, it could be a lot of fun *if* the better player is not a eccentric control freak.

Relax, don't forget to smell the flowers.

Oh yeah, make sure your balls are extra clean and shiny.

If you enjoy the first 18 holes, you could have a few drinks at the 19th and with any luck, you'd use the 20th.

My opinion? Bad idea for a first date.

I tried this once many years ago. There was no attraction and she got very frustrated and cranky because frankly her game was very poor. So then it was a case of put up with her for another 4 hours until we finish the game or walk off the course early and waste the greens fees...

Now assuming she was into it, I'd say it would make for an excellent SECOND date.
