| This is my home Posted: 9/5/2004 2:29:49 PM | The leaves on the trees are turning, its early autumn the sun peeks its head out over the mountain tops i'd dread this time of year because you show up with your orange flak jackets armed and ready to hunt us down relentlessly to our numbers disappear
what have we done? our only sin was to search for food for our young and frolic in the woods our beauty adding to the landscape, our hearts shy and tame, something you never understood
i catch a glimpse of you hiding behind a tree your barrel wanting me dead a shot rings out stopping me in my tracks oh no looks like you been shot because you were wearing my father on your head

| Re: This is my home Posted: 9/5/2004 4:33:07 PM | | thank you - well its my way of life - being of native american heritage and walking the path i do walk - i pray for the spirit of all that i eat - and no way would i take anything that was to be excess | |

| Re: This is my home Posted: 9/5/2004 4:43:54 PM | | i really don't have anything against hunters...just ones that kill for the sport of it | |
|
| Re: This is my home Posted: 9/5/2004 4:44:59 PM | | excess = people i know who hunt - it sucks - and i dont care for it - for those who do it to survive - because it is still used in cultures - so i have nothing against it - but for sport or game - hell no | |

| Re: This is my home Posted: 9/5/2004 5:04:45 PM | thanks holly and its nice to see you back

| Re: This is my home Posted: 9/5/2004 5:14:12 PM | chuck i try not to ... but i am a chicken and turkey eater - i am anemic because i dont get the iron i need - which is in red meat - i have eaten it on occasions - i cant digest it - makes me sick - ties me in knots now - so chicken and turkey and veggies - like tonight i had tomatoes and blue berry english muffins lol
and yes i cried when bambi's momma died and i went to see Brother Bear and cried there in the movies too
Its hard to survive without meat - because my body breaks down - I grew up on the stuff - so training your body not to eat certain things is a job | |

| Re: This is my home Posted: 9/5/2004 5:16:46 PM | | o yeah - when i was young i saw a man who raised chicken kill them and it was funny to see the chicken run around with his head that way - i was only 5 - but when i grew up - i cried because i thought it was said that people could be so cruel to anything - so now - i pray over everything and asked for blessings of those that lost their lives to feed me - there are certain foods that carry the protein and iron i can eat - but some are so gross it makes me gag - like tofu - ewww | |

|
| Re: This is my home Posted: 9/5/2004 5:31:43 PM | | i eat peanut butter like its going out of style lol - it tightens the tumy too after a while if i eat to much - which i do - it becomes a craving - soy isnt all that its cracked up to be lol - but soy beans well just like any bean it gives off bad oders after a while lol - i dont like spinach unless it has cheese in it - so yes i eat some of those things | |
