| Should people be allowed to post photos that are offensive in nature? Posted: 10/8/2007 11:27:23 PM | | I noticed a photo of someone and when I looked closer at Username removed site I saw something really sick-a hunting photo! While some may find this suitable, I found it highly offensive which brings up the question -should the photo that is your primary that flashes to people be a little more carefully picked? Curious to see if myabe because I am an animal lover that I found this offensive or if others find it offensive as well and would agree? | |

It may still be alive. Looks rather content.
I found it highly offensive Don't date him then. E-Mail block when he sends you a friendly "Hello" Message.
But ... if he wants to share a little primo Whitetail Meat, I'd give it some serious thought.
should the photo that is your primary that flashes to people be a little more carefully picked? Meets the Pic Upload Criterias.

| Should people be allowed to post photos that are offensive in nature? Posted: 10/9/2007 2:25:26 AM | I am animal lover as well and I do not hunt, but I can't say as though I find it offensive.
Had it been a blood and guts pic I might be inclined to agree with you. But by your own admission, if it looks in tact enough to still be alive-in reality, could be stuffed animal for all you know.
This is a pretty clear case of you trying to impose your values on a practice that dates back to about the time our ancestors still looked like monkeys (did you find that offensive? ) . But I'll let one of the hunters lecture you on the overpopulation of deer and the reports from the DNR that it is helpful to the species as whole (just not that poor guy!).
What exactly would be your aim in having it taken down anyway? You already saw it, you're obviously not going to look at it again. Were trying to save someone else from the same trauma you experienced?
It's ironic that you bring up poor taste, because I found it a little irresponsible that you actually posted the guys profile name in the forum. I didn't even think that was allowed, and I am surprised the moderator here did not delete that portion.

The one thing I will agree with you on OP- there may have been a bad date or two that made me want to forget that the person ever existed. LOL. I actually would like to be able to make it so I don't see their picture at all, when they are online or have recently checked their mail (don't think blocking accomplishes this though). It's a small consolation for not being able to remove them from the face of the earth.

| Should people be allowed to post photos that are offensive in nature? Posted: 10/9/2007 12:45:16 PM | Sometimes regarding pictures it seems one rule for some and another rule for others. I have seen pictures of men ( in the army or whatever) holding weapons. Yet I tried to put a picture on my profile ( not as a main one) of Arnie in his Terminator role, he was holding a gun by his side. This pic was removed from my profile. So how come it was ok for the solider pic holding the gun but not ok for my pic of Arnie holding the gun ??. I am waiting for someone to tell me that celebs are not allowed on pics. Well if this is true then why have i seen loads of celebs on profile pics ?? Also from what I have read of the rules picture of nudity are not allowed . Am i Right ? If so then why have I seen a picture of just a womans boobs completly naked and very close up ??( No i not some lesbian looking at other women ). This picture I reported but I doubt it would have been removed. So why dont the picture rules apply to everyone ? | |

I have seen pictures of men ( in the army or whatever) holding weapons. No different than the Blacksmith & Carpenter Shop. Its their legal Career, Trade, or Duty.
Yet I tried to put a picture on my profile ( not as a main one) of Arnie in his Terminator role, he was holding a gun by his side. Posting "Arnie in his Terminator Role" is a Copyright Infringement.

Posted: 10/9/2007 7:39:10 PM | | I think Ticket pretty much said it here...the moderators and Admin cannot possibly have enough time to view every profile on here, daily, to keep the rule-breakers in check. This is why there is a reporting system. If you see it, report it and they will decide if it's good/bad OR ugly.
