Posted: 10/12/2007 4:56:34 PM | So - do any of you have neighbors from hell? I notice the longer I live here, the quality of neighbors goes down and down.
My little story of today (one of many) - and this is not a self pity thread - this is a 'sharing' thread...
I came home today - arms full of groceries, the lady (I use that term loosely) - who lives on the same floor as me - slams the door in my face. I hollered - thanks! - then when I get to the elevator - she slams the elevator door on my face - I said - thanks dumb ass! Anyway I get up to my floor - and said walking down the hallway - why is everybody being a **** today. So I am getting out of my work clothes - and I hear a bang on my door - I get to the door - and there is a bunch of flour all over my door and welcome mat. I said 'thanks' - will be phoning management'. Then I hear her kids come out - and I said to them - someone better clean up that flour - they both looked and me and told me to fk off and die...
I ignored the loud music, the family drug sessions, I was being a nice neighbor. Maybe I shouldn't have called her dumbass, but throwing flour on the door was a bit immature (glad it wasn't something worse) - all this before my bday lol.
So does anyone else have some neighbors from hell? Share your stories! What did you do about it? Again this isn't a self pity thread - this is a thread to share your stories and to state what you did about it... | |

She bullies seniors
She illegally got the city to install handicap parking........ for a mother that visits 4 times a year.

they could be me
some stuff I have done to piss off my neighbors
in apartment buildings, I pick the locks on the electrical room and flip all their breakers off
plug in all my music gear (2X 100 watt Marshall stacks and 8 4X12 monitors) place the speaker sides on the floor, crank the amp to some industrial techno and then go out (I warned the resident managers first and then they went out at the same time)
hijack your wireless signal and mess up your signal by monopolizing almost all your bandwidth with multiple downloads
drunk male friends peed all over their garage door in the winter so it froze shut
fertilized their lawn in the shape of a 4 letter word so it was very green and tall in the spring
let all the air out of their tires and crazy glued the stems back on
ride my motorbike with the modified Vance Lane pipes at 3am, I might even sit on my driveway pad and rev the engine for a while because it is fun for me
so...play nice with each other | |

I find though most of the bad neighbors I have had, have been people that just have no respect, not for their own apartments let alone the people around them. Heck I lived above a guy that used to get naked and scream out on the balcony he wanted to fk children - until the cops took him away to the loony bin (he got evicted, now he is some other poor saps problem).
One thing I never understood - people who have these huge sound systems and move into apartments and crank up the volume - um hello - ever heard of headphones? | |

My brother's neighbour turned out to be a pedofile that raped 4 children...
This was supposed to be a forum on the lighter side of things - yes, its a tragedy. My heart goes out to that rcmp officers family - especially the little daughter that will never know her daddy. And its too bad that the murderer will never really get punished - if he does in this day and age of lack of justice - it will be a miracle...
but that is another topic.
And that is proof you never know who your neighbours are - he was an armed murderer - thats why sometimes its good not to start fights with psycho neighbours...

Seriously - the loud music thing - why? Especially after hours. Hell I had musicians party at my place, and things never got that loud... | |

Posted: 10/13/2007 4:36:42 AM | I lived in a building with crackheads. When couples who aren't addicted to crack get into arguments they yell or scream or whatever. If you're a crackhead that lived in my building, you show your displeasure but lighting rags on fire and throwing them in the hallway.
I was working nightshift at the time, and I woke up to the fire alarms going off. I very groggily got up and went outside and since the controls for the alarm s ystem were in my apartment, everyone in the building thought I started the fire.
Friends of mine recently moved out of a place where there was a convicted pedo (and they lived less than a block from an all girls high school). One day he came up to them and pretty much eluded to the fact that he could hear them having sex at night, and enjoyed it. | |

Posted: 10/13/2007 4:58:26 AM | this is to the person with the neighbour who killed that cop Most people I have ever known growing up would be like shaking that guys hand since most cops are corrupt and power hungry little dictators. The older cops have alot more respect and social skills then the newer younger cops. This is why you will notice its younger cops that get killed since most of them have huge attitude problems and think just because they have a badge and carry a gun that they are god.
I have lived next door to crack heads dealers prostitutes and regular people most of them are quiet because they know what happens when you piss people off and they dont call the cops/
The worst people by far are the religeous people who bother you trying to convert you every time they talk to you.
because of a heavily christian neighbour I had who was like that I Bought satanic symbols and placed them all over the lawn sprayed the pentacle onto my lawn as well and played ozzy all day long just loud enough to be heard outside of my house.
When he was like your soul is in trouble my response is my soul was in less trouble when you were not bothering me with your beliefs. | |

Personally, I think most everybody can relate to the neighbours from hell! I've heard the tunes cranked through my walls before a number of times.
Hang in there though ... there is hope! Just a few days ago, my condo neighbour from upstairs came down and knocked on my door. I was somewhat shocked to see him, so he proceeded to explain that he was planning a little party for later that evening (this was a Friday night) and things might get a little noisy. He even invited me to join!
His notification was both courteous and politically correct (should I have joined in the fun and added to the noise, I would have had nothing to complain about).

They may not get evicted by that one reason alone, but there is bound to be other calls from other tenants about them sooner or later, and the eviction will happen. Main reason is there is such a shortage of apartments and a surplus of want to be tenants, that it would be easy to fill that apartment again...so landlords don't really have to worry about losing money, and are only too happy to evict if needed. Call them. | |

Posted: 10/13/2007 8:05:56 AM | Years ago, my boyfriend lived in this fourplex.. Apparently they played their music too loud and the landlord came over to talk to us.. Very nice man..
The neighbors had a loaded shotgun sitting against the living room wall (between the two suites) and told the landlord they were just waiting to get fed up enough to use.. Not sure if It would have actually gone through the wall or not but scarey to think that they had a gun.. and loaded in their house.
He moved out less than a month later.. We moved into our first house together.
I have been blessed to live in my own houses since then and really haven't had neighbors from hell unless you count when I lived in Langdon and my neighbors moved, rented it out and the guy had blood hounds.. Imagine baying bloodhounds 24/7.. Yeah, its was a joy!! They barked constantly.. but I understand that one of the dogs got into some garbage, ate some styrofoam and died. I felt badly even though they drove me nuts. | |

My favourite was the day when my 2.5 month old prem was trying to sleep.......
they played basketball in the kitchen above his bed (8 HOURS OF BOUNCING THE FLUFFING BALL).
PoliteLY asking didnt work
5 calls to the landlord didnt work
the first 5 calls to the police didnt work
the last call to the police telling them they had 10 minutes to deal with the morons or I would........ police were here in 3 minutes.
after having the police here 42 times in 35 days
plus the fire dept, the landlord evected them! | |
