Find some who never return messages , but each too their own .So other words their not interested in you . Meeting people in person at thee local events helps out tremendous cause it's up front and personal . Just ways we see it , some just get a little over reactive sometimes but we must admit we enjoy some emails we do get ....  | |

I know the frustration, but I am sure many women write men and do not get the courtesy of a reply either.
And people sometimes wonder why they are alone and miserable....perhaps the ones they did not respond to, just might be that diamond in the rough to complement their life.... | |

I try to respond to all the messages I get, not like I get a lot, but for the messages I do get, as long as it is polite, I will respond. If it is Hey babe...lets FVCK...then I just block. | |

Dude, You got to keep this in mind. Most woman on here are way too busy Answering all the messages from Guys from Egypt & other foreign countries, Telling them how hot they are and all that other stuff.. & don't forget all the married men out in the world trying to find a piece on the side. I'm sure someone will answer you eventually. It might take weeks.. ;)

Those of you not getting many replies should head on over to the profiles review board and send better quality stuff than "hey hows it going" :) Someone I know recently joined this site and her profile said nothing besides being thin & a teen, no pics. She got almost 50 messages with just that... you've got lots of competition & need to make yourself sound like someone people'd want to reply to | |

I've always said that the POF homepage should have an image of a skeleton covered in cobwebs and dust sitting in front of a computer waiting for messages that never come.

Posted: 10/14/2007 7:46:46 AM | Reading the OP's post, I assume he's talking about using Instant Messaging on here. There should be a disclaimer attached to this site about it's IM. Some days it works...sometimes it doesn't. A few things I've run into when I USE to have IM on here.
1. Sometimes the messages just don't connect.
2. If I am in the Forums, I don't receive any IM's until I pop out of Forums. The message box is usually blank.
3. Even when you log out, it takes at least 10 minutes or more to show you are no longer on line so, you could be messaging someone that is never going to receive that message.
Just don't assume that the person you are messaging isn't responding. In most cases, they probably didn't even receive it. This is one of the main factors I have decided to not allow instant messaging anymore, besides the fact that most men that instant message me are usually looking for something I'm not (ie. casual sex). | |

If you are able to, try to be more creative. Humour goes a long way. Always refer to their profile. Say a little a bout yourself and make sure you have at least one question in the message you send.
The other thing is, put some effort in to your profile. There are a lot of people out there looking for a special relationship and if you aren't unique in your profile, you're easily overlooked. Poorly written anything doesn't make one crave more. | |

Posted: 10/16/2007 5:46:49 AM | I do usually return everyone's messages. Sometimes it's what they want to hear, but I tell the truth. A lot of men only want one thing in a relationship or they comment on your body and ask for you size....The picture is right there, I'm sure most men than figure that out right....
Or once you start talking to them, they want a role in the hay. Well that's not what they say in their profile....That is not being respectful, and that's not what I read on their profile.
You go out once with some men and they expect it. So now, the ones that contact me and I know how they are, well I don't respond because I know that it will be the same conversation again.

Put up a picture with a smile like you're intested and interesting. That may work for you. | |
