| Has there been a song that really touched you spiritually? Posted: 10/13/2007 2:57:27 PM | I like music... it seems to me that the ability to make music is a purely humn thing. I think it is marvelous. I have also been deeply affected by some music, on a spiritual level. What's your experience with music or songs that somehow feed your soul, or even just make you really think about things?
Wayward Son, by Kansas is one that really does it for me (out of quite a few)
Carry on my wayward son There'll be peace when you are done Lay your weary head to rest Don't you cry no more
Once I rose above the noise and confusion Just to get a glimpse beyond this illusion I was soaring ever higher But I flew too high
Though my eyes could see I still was a blind man Though my mind could think I still was a mad man I hear the voices when I'm dreaming I can hear them say
Carry on my wayward son There'll be peace when you are done Lay your weary head to rest Don't you cry no more
Masquerading as a man with a reason My charade is the event of the season And if I claim to be a wise man, well It surely means that I don't know
On a stormy sea of moving emotion Tossed about I'm like a ship on the ocean I set a course for winds of fortune But I hear the voices say
Carry on my wayward son There'll be peace when you are done Lay your weary head to rest Don't you cry no more No!
Carry on, you will always remember Carry on, nothing equals the splendor Now your life's no longer empty Surely heaven waits for you

| Has there been a song that really touched you spiritually? Posted: 10/13/2007 3:21:00 PM | Umm, this song is long, mm'k?
I heard it first when I was a teen and it changed the way I viewed learning... It helped change the way I view alot of things and actually may have been what sparked my interest in Zen...
"Thick as a brick"
Really don't mind if you sit this one out. My words but a whisper -- your deafness a SHOUT. I may make you feel but I can't make you think. Your sperm's in the gutter -- your love's in the sink. So you ride yourselves over the fields and you make all your animal deals and your wise men don't know how it feels to be thick as a brick. And the sand-castle virtues are all swept away in the tidal destruction the moral melee. The elastic retreat rings the close of play as the last wave uncovers the newfangled way. But your new shoes are worn at the heels and your suntan does rapidly peel and your wise men don't know how it feels to be thick as a brick. And the love that I feel is so far away: I'm a bad dream that I just had today -- and you shake your head and say it's a shame. Spin me back down the years and the days of my youth. Draw the lace and black curtains and shut out the whole truth. Spin me down the long ages: let them sing the song. See there! A son is born -- and we pronounce him fit to fight. There are black-heads on his shoulders, and he pees himself in the night. We'll make a man of him put him to trade teach him to play Monopoly and to sing in the rain. The Poet and the painter casting shadows on the water -- as the sun plays on the infantry returning from the sea. The do-er and the thinker: no allowance for the other -- as the failing light illuminates the mercenary's creed. The home fire burning: the kettle almost boiling -- but the master of the house is far away. The horses stamping -- their warm breath clouding in the sharp and frosty morning of the day. And the poet lifts his pen while the soldier sheaths his sword. And the youngest of the family is moving with authority. Building castles by the sea, he dares the tardy tide to wash them all aside. The cattle quietly grazing at the grass down by the river where the swelling mountain water moves onward to the sea: the builder of the castles renews the age-old purpose and contemplates the milking girl whose offer is his need. The young men of the household have all gone into service and are not to be expected for a year. The innocent young master -- thoughts moving ever faster -- has formed the plan to change the man he seems. And the poet sheaths his pen while the soldier lifts his sword. And the oldest of the family is moving with authority. Coming from across the sea, he challenges the son who puts him to the run. What do you do when the old man's gone -- do you want to be him? And your real self sings the song. Do you want to free him? No one to help you get up steam -- and the whirlpool turns you `way off-beam. LATER. I've come down from the upper class to mend your rotten ways. My father was a man-of-power whom everyone obeyed. So come on all you criminals! I've got to put you straight just like I did with my old man -- twenty years too late. Your bread and water's going cold. Your hair is too short and neat. I'll judge you all and make damn sure that no-one judges me. You curl your toes in fun as you smile at everyone -- you meet the stares. You're unaware that your doings aren't done. And you laugh most ruthlessly as you tell us what not to be. But how are we supposed to see where we should run? I see you shuffle in the courtroom with your rings upon your fingers and your downy little sidies and your silver-buckle shoes. Playing at the hard case, you follow the example of the comic-paper idol who lets you bend the rules. So! Come on ye childhood heroes! Won't you rise up from the pages of your comic-books your super crooks and show us all the way. Well! Make your will and testament. Won't you? Join your local government. We'll have Superman for president let Robin save the day. You put your bet on number one and it comes up every time. The other kids have all backed down and they put you first in line. And so you finally ask yourself just how big you are -- and take your place in a wiser world of bigger motor cars. And you wonder who to call on. So! Where the hell was Biggles when you needed him last Saturday? And where were all the sportsmen who always pulled you though? They're all resting down in Cornwall -- writing up their memoirs for a paper-back edition of the Boy Scout Manual. LATER. See there! A man born -- and we pronounce him fit for peace. There's a load lifted from his shoulders with the discovery of his disease. We'll take the child from him put it to the test teach it to be a wise man how to fool the rest. QUOTE We will be geared to the average rather than the exceptional God is an overwhelming responsibility we walked through the maternity ward and saw 218 babies wearing nylons cats are on the upgrade upgrade? Hipgrave. Oh, Mac. LATER In the clear white circles of morning wonder, I take my place with the lord of the hills. And the blue-eyed soldiers stand slightly discoloured (in neat little rows) sporting canvas frills. With their jock-straps pinching, they slouch to attention, while queueing for sarnies at the office canteen. Saying -- how's your granny and good old Ernie: he coughed up a tenner on a premium bond win.
The legends (worded in the ancient tribal hymn) lie cradled in the seagull's call. And all the promises they made are ground beneath the sadist's fall. The poet and the wise man stand behind the gun, and signal for the crack of dawn. Light the sun. Do you believe in the day? Do you? Believe in the day! The Dawn Creation of the Kings has begun. Soft Venus (lonely maiden) brings the ageless one. Do you believe in the day? The fading hero has returned to the night -- and fully pregnant with the day, wise men endorse the poet's sight. Do you believe in the day? Do you? Believe in the day! Let me tell you the tales of your life of your love and the cut of the knife the tireless oppression the wisdom instilled the desire to kill or be killed. Let me sing of the losers who lie in the street as the last bus goes by. The pavements ar empty: the gutters run red -- while the fool toasts his god in the sky.
So come all ye young men who are building castles! Kindly state the time of the year and join your voices in a hellish chorus. Mark the precise nature of your fear. Let me help you pick up your dead as the sins of the father are fed with the blood of the fools and the thoughts of the wise and from the pan under your bed. Let me make you a present of song as the wise man breaks wind and is gone while the fool with the hour-glass is cooking his goose and the nursery rhyme winds along.
So! Come all ye young men who are building castles! Kindly state the time of the year and join your voices in a hellish chorus. Mark the precise nature of your fear. See! The summer lightning casts its bolts upon you and the hour of judgement draweth near. Would you be the fool stood in his suit of armour or the wiser man who rushes clear. So! Come on ye childhood heroes! Won't your rise up from the pages of your comic-books your super-crooks and show us all the way. Well! Make your will and testament. Won't you? Join your local government. We'll have Superman for president let Robin save the day. So! Where the hell was Biggles when you needed him last Saturday? And where were all the sportsmen who always pulled you through? They're all resting down in Cornwall -- writing up their memoirs for a paper-back edition of the Boy Scout Manual. OF COURSE So you ride yourselves over the fields and you make all your animal deals and your wise men don't know how it feels to be thick as a brick.

| Has there been a song that really touched you spiritually? Posted: 10/13/2007 4:13:19 PM | Thanks for sharing Ravenstar66 and stonestongue /to respond to the original post and not to take up too much space,I tried to narrow it down to these three songs :
Into the mystic/Van Morrison
We were born before the wind So much younger than the sun Ere the bonnie boat was won As we sailed into the mystic
Hark, now hear the sailors cry Smell the sea and feel the sky Let your soul and spirit fly Into the mystic
And when that fog horn blows I will be coming home And when that fog horn blows I want to hear it I don't have to fear it
I want to rock your gypsy soul Just like way back in the days of old Then magnificently we will float Into the mystic
And when that fog horn blows You know I will be coming home And when that fog horn whistle blows I got to hear it I don't have to fear it
I want to rock your gypsy soul Just like way back in the days of old And together we will float Into the mystic
It's too late to stop now Too late to stop now Too late to stop now Too late to stop now ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Everyday People Artist/Nicole C. Mullen

I'm not ashamed to tell the whole world, oh Without you, I'm nothing at all That I have strings in need of mending I'm out of tune in certain parts So strum the chords of mercy Restore my soul completely Lay your hand upon me And this instrument will breathe
[Chorus] 'Cause you're the music of my heart (Yeah yeah yeah yeah) The melody within my soul (Yeah yeah yeah yeah) The song that holds me in the dark (Yeah yeah yeah yeah) The fire that warms me when I'm cold (Yeah yeah yeah yeah) The symphony that calms my fear (Yeah yeah yeah yeah) The lyric that I long to hear (Yeah yeah yeah yeah) The masterpiece, the work of art Complete before I start The music of my heart
Yeah Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Creator of all that is lovely, oh Write a tune upon my heart And when you finish will you play me Like a beautiful guitar Strum the chords of mercy Restore my soul completely Breathe life into me And this instrument will sing
[Repeat Chorus] Of my heart I'm captivated (Ha-Ha-Ha-Ha-Heart) Of my heart My soul's elated (Ha-Ha-Ha-Ha-Heart) Of my heart Because Every single line's full of love divine Write me like a valentine
[Repeat Chorus]

| Has there been a song that really touched you spiritually? Posted: 10/13/2007 4:41:27 PM | Yes, quite a few songs touch me. This one in particular. BELIEVE
Believe
Lyrics:
Old man Wrigley lived in that white house Down the street where i grew up Momma used to send me over with things We struck a freindship up I spent a few long summers out on his old porch swing
Says he was in the war when in the navy Lost his wife, lost his baby Broke down and asked him one time How ya keep from going crazy He said I'll see my wife and son in just a little while I asked him what he meant He looked at me and smiled, said
(Chorus) I raise my hands, bow my head
I'm finding more and more truth in the words written in red They tell me that there's more to life than just what i can see Oh i believe
Few years later i was off at college Talkin' to mom on the phone one night Getting all caught up on the gossip The ins and outs of the small town life She said oh by the way son, old man Wrigley's died.
Later on that night, i laid there thinkin' back Thought 'bout a couple long-lost summers I didn't know whether to cry or laugh If there was ever anybody desevred a ticket to the other side It'd be that sweet old man who looked me in the eye, said
(Chorus) I raise my hands, bow my head I'm finding more and more truth in the words written in red They tell me that there's more to life than just what i can see
[these lyrics are found on http://www.songlyrics.com] I can't quote the book The chapter or the verse You can't tell me it all ends In a slow ride in a hearse You know I'm more and more convinced The longer that i live Yeah, this can't be No, this can't be No, this can't be all there is
(Chorus) When I raise my hands, bow my head I'm finding more and more truth in the words written in red They tell me that there's more to life than just what i can see I believe Oh, I I believe I believe I believe I believe I believe

| Has there been a song that really touched you spiritually? Posted: 10/13/2007 5:04:42 PM | Hi Ravenstar,
Funny you should have a song by Kansas as one of your favorites.... this one here is also by Kansas, and it still makes the hair on my arms stand up when I hear it....
"Dust In The Wind"
I close my eyes Only for a moment, then the moment's gone All my dreams Pass before my eyes, a curiosity Dust in the wind All we are is dust in the wind
It's the same old song We're just a drop of water, in an endless sea All we do Just crumbles to the ground, though we refuse to see Dust in the wind All we are is dust in the wind
Life's too short brothers and sisters Dust in the wind All we are is dust in the wind
Don't hang on Nothing lasts forever, but the earth and sky It's there always And all your money won't another minute buy Dust. . . all we are is dust in the wind Life's too short brothers and sisters Dust. . . all we are is dust in the wind
Open your eyes you've acquired quite a bit Keep your balance don't you slip It could all end instantly as you will see Time waits for no one, it just moves on There is a white one Who won't accept the black one Who won't accept the yellow one Who can't accept the white. . .
When will we learn That all we are is dust in the wind Time for the healing to begin All we is are dust in the wind Time for the healing to begin All we are is dust in the wind Everything is dust in the wind
Dust in the wind All we are is dust in the wind Dust in the wind All we are is dust in the wind
And this one too by Audio Slave...
"Like A Stone" On a cobweb afternoon In a room full of emptiness By a freeway I confess I was lost in the pages Of a book full of death Reading how we'll die alone And if we're good we'll lay to rest Anywhere we want to go (chorus) In your house I long to be Room by room patiently I'll wait for you there Like a stone I'll wait for you there Alone On my deathbed I will pray To the gods and the angels Like a pagan to anyone Who will take me to heaven To a place I recall I was there so long ago The sky was bruised The wine was bled And there you led me on (chorus) In your house I long to be Room by room patiently I'll wait for you there Like a stone I'll wait for you there Alone And on I read Until the day was gone And I sat in regret Of all the things I've done For all that I've blessed And all that I've wronged In dreams until my death I will wander on There's just so many songs that have touched me throughout the years, it's hard just to choose just one or two... :)
Take care...

| Has there been a song that really touched you spiritually? Posted: 10/13/2007 7:28:27 PM | Wow Ravenstar... There are just sooo many...
Another one that got me right off the hop was "Ripple" by the Grateful Dead.
If my words did glow with the gold of sunshine And my tunes were played on the harp unstrung Would you hear my voice come through the music Would you hold it near as it were your own?
It's a hand-me-down, the thoughts are broken Perhaps they're better left unsung I don't know, don't really care Let there be songs to fill the air
(Chorus)
Ripple in still water When there is no pebble tossed Nor wind to blow
Reach out your hand if your cup be empty If your cup is full may it be again Let it be known there is a fountain That was not made by the hands of men
There is a road, no simple highway Between the dawn and the dark of night And if you go no one may follow That path is for your steps alone
(Chorus)
You who choose to lead must follow But if you fall you fall alone If you should stand then who's to guide you? If I knew the way I would take you home

| Has there been a song that really touched you spiritually? Posted: 10/13/2007 8:11:13 PM | Pick me up Been bleeding too long Right here, right now Ill stop it somehow
I will make it go away Can't be here no more Seems this is the only way I will soon be gone These feelings will be gone These feelings will be gone
Now I see the times they changed Leaving doesn't seem so strange I am hoping I can find Where to leave my hurt behind All the shit I seem to take All alone I seem to break I have lived the best I can Does this make me not a man?
Shut me off I'm ready Heart stops I stand alone Cant be on my own
I will make it go away Cant be here no more Seems this is the only way I will soon be gone These feelings will be gone These feelings will be gone
Now I see the times they changed Leaving doesn't seem so strange I am hoping I can find Where to leave my hurt behind All the shit I seem to take All alone I seem to break I have lived the best I can Does this make me not a man?
Am I going to leave this place? What is it Im running from? Is there nothing more to come? (am I gonna leave this place? ) Is it always black in space? Am I going to take its place? Am I going to win this race? (am I going to win this race? ) I guess gods up in this place What is it that Ive become? Is there something more to come? More to come...
Now I see the times they changed Leaving doesn't seem so strange I am hoping I can find Where to leave my hurt behind All the shit I seem to take All alone I seem to break I have lived the best I can Does this make me not a man?
Now I see the times they changed Leaving doesn't seem so strange I am hoping I can find Where to leave my hurt behind All the shit I seem to take All alone I seem to break I have lived the best I can Does this make me not a man?

| Has there been a song that really touched you spiritually? Posted: 10/13/2007 8:18:00 PM | Isn't It A Pity Lyrics » George Harrison Isn't it a pity Now, isn't it a shame How we break each other's hearts And cause each other pain How we take each other's love Without thinking anymore Forgetting to give back Isn't it a pity
Some things take so long But how do I explain When not too many people Can see we're all the same And because of all their tears Their eyes can't hope to see The beauty that surrounds them Isn't it a pity
Isn't it a pity Isn't is a shame How we break each other's hearts And cause each other pain How we take each other's love Without thinking anymore Forgetting to give back Isn't it a pity
Forgetting to give back Isn't it a pity Forgetting to give back Now, isn't it a pity

| Has there been a song that really touched you spiritually? Posted: 10/13/2007 8:20:33 PM | Some folks have already taking some of my most favorite Kansas Dust in the wind and Wayward Son. But I also get in the mood for the Moody Blues among many others.
Nights in white satin, Never reaching the end, Letters Ive written, Never meaning to send.
Beauty Id always missed With these eyes before, Just what the truth is I cant say anymore.
cause I love you, Yes, I love you, Oh, how, I love you.
Gazing at people, Some hand in hand, Just what Im going thru They can understand.
Some try to tell me Thoughts they cannot defend, Just what you want to be You will be in the end,

| Has there been a song that really touched you spiritually? Posted: 10/13/2007 8:24:12 PM | "Imagine"
Imagine there's no heaven, It's easy if you try, No hell below us, Above us only sky, Imagine all the people living for today...
Imagine there's no countries, It isnt hard to do, Nothing to kill or die for, No religion too, Imagine all the people living life in peace...
You may say Im a dreamer, but Im not the only one, I hope some day you'll join us, And the world will live as one.
(Imagine all the people sharing all the world)
Imagine no possesions, I wonder if you can, No need for greed or hunger, A brotherhood of man, Imagine all the people Sharing all the world...
You may say Im a dreamer, but Im not the only one, I hope some day you'll join us, And the world will live as one.

| Has there been a song that really touched you spiritually? Posted: 10/13/2007 9:30:53 PM | Jennifer Knapp "Kansas" is one of my fav CD's and as I checked my sheet music this song is from another album so there goes the Kansas connection but same artist, different set list....
PEACE
He is my light and my salvation Whom have I to fear? In His secret place I'll hide and pray, that I might hear A simple Word
Oh how I would have despaired if You had not come found me there I can lean against Your throne And find my Peace Find my Peace
And when my enemies draw near I Pray that they will find That Im protected and secure All tempests He will bind With Mighty Word
Oh how I would have despaired if You had not come found me there I can lean against Your Throne And find my Peace Find my Peace
I can lean against Your Throne and find Lean against Your Throne and find Lean against Your Throne and find My Peace

| Has there been a song that really touched you spiritually? Posted: 10/13/2007 9:49:14 PM | Oldsould has already mentioned my most favorite song of all... Imagine.
I still get tears in my eyes whenever I hear that one. And I wonder what other music and outlooks John could have favoured us with if he had not been taken from us so early.
But another song come to mind as well.
Joni Mitchell's "We are stardust". She was being factual as well as poetic. Every element on earth, except for the lightest, every atom in our bodies, was created in the heart of some massive star.
I came upon a child of god He was walking along the road And I asked him, where are you going And this he told me Im going on down to yasgurs farm Im going to join in a rock n roll band Im going to camp out on the land Im going to try an get my soul free We are stardust We are golden And weve got to get ourselves Back to the garden
Then can I walk beside you I have come here to lose the smog And I feel to be a cog in something turning Well maybe it is just the time of year Or maybe its the time of man I dont know who l am But you know life is for learning We are stardust We are golden And weve got to get ourselves Back to the garden
By the time we got to woodstock We were half a million strong And everywhere there was song and celebration And I dreamed I saw the bombers Riding shotgun in the sky And they were turning into butterflies Above our nation We are stardust Billion year old carbon We are golden Caught in the devils bargain And weve got to get ourselves Back to the garden

| Has there been a song that really touched you spiritually? Posted: 10/14/2007 4:43:53 AM | This song continues to touch me everytimes I hear it, regardless of how many times I hear it:
Who taught the sun where to stand in the morning Who told the ocean you an only come this far? Who showed the moon where to hide 'til evening Whose words alone can catch a falling star?
Well I know my Redeemer lives I know my Redeemer lives All of creation testifies This life within me cries I know my Redeemer lives
The very same God that spins things in orbit He runs to the weary, the worn and the weak And the same gentle hands that hold me when I'm broken They conquered death to bring me victory
Now I know my Redeemer lives I know my Redemer lives Let all creation testify Let this life wihtin me cry I know my Redeemer, He lives
To take away my shame And He lives forever I'll proclaim That the payment for my sin Was the precious life He gave But now He's alive And there's an empty grave.
And I know my Redeemer, He lives I know my Redeemer lives Let all creation testify This life within me cries I know my Redeemer lives

Who You'd Be Today: By Kenny Chesning
Sunny days seem to hurt the most Wear the pain like a heavy coat I feel you every where I go
See your smile, see your face Hear you laughing in the rain Still can’t believe you’re gone
It ain’t fair you died too young Like a story that had just begun But death tore the pages all away
God knows how I miss you All the hell that I’ve been through Just knowing that no one could take your place
Sometimes I wonder who’d be today
Would you see the world Would you chase your dreams Settle down with a family I wonder what would you name your babies
Some days the sky’s so blue I feel I can’t talk to you I know it might sound crazy
It ain’t fair you died to young Like a story that had just begun But death tore the pages all away
God knows how I miss you All the hell I’ve been through Just knowing no one could take your place
Sometimes I wonder who’d be today
Today Today Today Today Today Today
Sunny days seem to hurt the most Wear the pain like a heavy coat The only thing that gives me hope Is I know I will see you again someday
Someday Someday Someday

| Has there been a song that really touched you spiritually? Posted: 10/14/2007 6:11:22 AM | Up From the Skies, by Hendrix
I just want to talk to you. I won't uh, do you no harm, I just want to know about your different lives, on this here people farm.
I heard some of you got your families, living in cages tall & cold, And some just stay there and dust away, past the age of old. Is this true? Please let me talk to you.
I just wanna know about, the rooms behind your minds, Do I see a vacuum there, or am I going blind? Or is it just remains from vibrations and echoes long ago, Things like 'Love the World' and 'Let your fancy flow', Is this true? Please let me talk to you. Let me talk to you.
I have lived here before, the days of ice, And of course this is why I'm so concerned, And I come back to find the stars misplaced and the smell of a world that has burned.
The smell of a world that has burned.
Well, maybee, maybe it's just a change of climate. I can dig it, I can dig it baby, I just want to see.
So where do I purchase my ticket, I would just like to have a ringside seat, I want to know about the new Mother Earth, I want to hear and see everything, I want to hear and see everything, I want to hear and see everything. Aw, shucks, If my daddy could see me now.
This song always makes me think of my spirituality.
Cheers, Raven | |

Everywhere - Michelle Branch
Turn it inside out so I can see The part of you that's drifting over me And when I wake you're never there But when I sleep you're everywhere You're everywhere
Just tell me how I got this far Just tell me why you're here and who you are 'Cause every time I look you're never there And every time I sleep you're always there
'Cause you're everywhere to me And when I close my eyes it's you I see You're everything I know that makes me believe I'm not alone I'm not alone
I recognize the way you make me feel It's hard to think that you might not be real I sense it now, the water's getting deep I try to wash the pain away from me Away from me
'Cause you're everywhere to me And when I close my eyes it's you I see You're everything I know that makes me believe I'm not alone I'm not alone
I am not alone Whoa, oh, oooh, oh
And when I touch your hand It's then I understand The beauty that's within It's now that we begin You always light my way I hope there never comes a day No matter where I go I always feel you so
'Cause you're everywhere to me And when I close my eyes it's you I see You're everything I know that makes me believe I'm not alone 'Cause you're everywhere to me And when I catch my breath it's you I breathe You're everything I know that makes me believe I'm not alone
You're in everyone I see So tell me Do you see me?

| Has there been a song that really touched you spiritually? Posted: 10/14/2007 8:19:00 AM | There are so many songs that touched me ... I chose this one because of the experience I had while at a Creed concert in 2002 ... Scott Stapp revealed that he wrote it upon learning that he was to be a father ... everyone in the audience stood and raised their arms up ... I wonder if anyone had a dry eye at the end ... it was beautiful ...
CREED "With Arms Wide Open"
Well I just heard the news today It seems my life is going to change I closed my eyes, begin to pray Then tears of joy stream down my face
With arms wide open Under the sunlight Welcome to this place I'll show you everything With arms wide open With arms wide open
Well I don't know if I'm ready To be the man I have to be I'll take a breath, I'll take her by my side We stand in awe, we've created life
With arms wide open Under the sunlight Welcome to this place I'll show you everything With arms wide open Now everything has changed I'll show you love I'll show you everything With arms wide open With arms wide open I'll show you everything ...oh yeah With arms wide open..wide open
If I had just one wish Only one demand I hope he's not like me I hope he understands That he can take this life And hold it by the hand And he can greet the world With arms wide open...
With arms wide open Under the sunlight Welcome to this place I'll show you everything With arms wide open Now everything has changed I'll show you love I'll show you everything With arms wide open With arms wide open I'll show you everything..oh yeah With arms wide open....wide open

| Has there been a song that really touched you spiritually? Posted: 10/14/2007 8:34:47 AM | And here's something new from Scott Stapp ...
THE GREAT DIVIDE I have run to the ocean Through the Horizon Chased the sun I’ve waited for the light to come, And at times I would give up You have Wrapped your loving arms ‘round me, And with your love I’ll overcome. You have Loved me when I was weak, You have Given unselfishly, Kept me from Falling…Falling Everywhere but my Knees!
You set me free! To live my life You became my reason to survive the great divide You set me Free!
I’ve been on Heaven’s doorstep, With the Door open, One foot inside I’ve cried out…God give me answers! Please hush child I’ll tell you why You have Loved me when you were weak, You kept Giving unselfishly, Kept you from Falling…Falling Everywhere but your Knees!
You set me free! To live my life You became my reason to survive the great divide You set me free!
Oh…our love is beautiful Oh…oo…oh…Isn’t it beautiful? Times have changed But you remain My everything Our Love is Beautiful Stood by my side Helped me survive My great Divide Isn’t this is beautiful.
You set me free! To live my life You became my reason to survive the great divide You set me free!

Posted: 10/14/2007 9:59:36 AM | I Can See Clearly NowI can see clearly now the rain is gone, I can see all obstacles in my way,Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind. It's gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright) sunshiny day. It's gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright) sunshiny day. I think I can make it now the pain is gone, And all of the bad feelings have disappeared, Here is the rainbow I've been praying for. It's gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright) sunshiny day. It's gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright) sunshiny day. Look all around, nothing but blue skies. Look straight ahead, nothing but blue skies. I can see clearly now the rain is gone.I can see all obstacles in my way. Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind. It's gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright) sunshiny day. It's gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright) sunshiny day. It's gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright) sunshiny day.

One of the best songs I have ever listened to. I could listen to this song for hours on end lol.
When the moon is lit on her eastern side And I am slowly centering, centering When my blood is pulled, with the waning tide And I fall, and am willingly entering Night -- The Dark, the Womb that's hollow It's here I've found a voice to follow
Chorus: I am the maiden I am the mother I am the crone I am the sea, I am the sky I am the blood, I am the moon Never alone, never alone, never alone
When the moon is lit, on her western side And she slowly is brightening, brightening When the Earth is full, with the waxing tide And I breath with it brightening, brightening See -- reflected in the water The older moon held by her daughter

Here's one:
Freewill
There are those who think that life has nothing left to chance, A host of holy horrors to direct our aimless dance.
A planet of playthings, We dance on the strings Of powers we cannot perceive "The stars aren't aligned, Or the gods are malign..." Blame is better to give than receive.
Chorus: You can choose a ready guide in some celestial voice. If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice. You can choose from phantom fears and kindness that can kill; I will choose a path that's clear I will choose freewill.
There are those who think that they were dealt a losing hand, The cards were stacked against them; they weren't born in Lotusland.
All preordained A prisoner in chains A victim of venomous fate. Kicked in the face, You can't pray for a place In heaven's unearthly estate.
Chorus
Each of us A cell of awareness Imperfect and incomplete. Genetic blends With uncertain ends On a fortune hunt that's far too fleet.
Chorus
